Ironically, that describes my belief in God and Christ.

North Korea has been a crisis since I've been alive. The current regime presides over a humanitarian nightmare, they are posturing in a way that suggests they will try to start a world war, and instead of clamping down on them and treating them as the existential threat that they are to our allies (South Korea and Japan, namely), our Cheeto-in-Chief is giving Kim photo ops and telling the world how they "fell in love." Fucking gross. And dangerous. And it's gotten worse under Herr Drumpf because now we're just turning a blind eye to the missile tests, pretending that it's not happening; this gives cover to Kim to ramp up his efforts to further fortify his stranglehold on the region. Yes, we need to intervene in Syria for myriad reasons. Assad uses chemical weapons against his own people. The Kurdish people were promised statehood by the United States, France, and Britain after the first World War under the Treaty of Sevres, which has still gone unfulfilled. They lost over 11,000 of their people assisting the United States in the fight against ISIS, where the US only lost a little more than a dozen. They have fought beside America for decades upon decades, in hopes that the United States would live up to their promises and Ferret-Hair pulls the plug and abandons them for SLAUGHTER to appease yet another authoritarian (Erdogan). When Russia annexed Crimea, President Obama lobbied to have Putin's Russia expelled from the G-8, and we backed the Ukraine's efforts to push back against pro-Russian infiltrators in their own government, much to the chagrin of folks like Manafort, Parnas, and Fruman. Don't worry though: yet again the Orange One went and fucked it all up so his buddies could get rich off of the Russian Oligarchy trying to annex the rest of the Ukraine in a tit-for-tat that included funneling Russian money illegally into Donald's pockets. The ultimate point here is that Donald tRump makes the world, and America, less safe and doesn't give a shit as long as his bank account gets bigger.

No. He threw the letter away because he knew that it was an empty threat. Trump is too much of a coward to do anything. He's shown that already with Iran, North Korea, Russia (well, more than just cowardice there), and Saudi Arabia (again, more there). He was even too chickenshit to call out the KKK and the Nazi party. The only people he's really gotten 'tough' on are poor immigrants. He isn't afraid of those.

Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? I'm ok inventing replacements for institutions that don't make people feel guilty. I went to a Summer camp that showed us a video about how men should only date girls who had not had sex because they had the "The Glow". The message was "Go for The Glow". It was years later when I realized that the message was also that a girl who had had sex is less worthy and should live in unwed shame. Fuck that place.

Good deal. Sounds like we can keep that bit and throw the rest in the bin.

The next time someone wants you to swear an oath, especially on the Bible, open it up to Matt 5 and read aloud verses 33-37: "Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.' But I tell you not to swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor should you swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black. Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ Anything more comes from the evil one."

How so? What did he do? Or are you talking about the opposition of fracking and pipelines? That's a different story, more like How we do it rather than If. Edit: Looks like that was addressed above.

There's just so much to unpack here. And I'm only referring to the disjointed grammar and spelling. Goodness. "I love the poorly educated!" - Donald John Trump, 2016

You know there are a lot of facets to the sport. I've found my self drifting from one to the next over the years. skysurfing, freestyle, CRW, base jumping, rigging, manufacturing, now I'm working on rockets and it looks like we are going to get the money to expand it into an orbital system. I don't think I could have done any one of those things for thirty years. Life is really more about growth. Some time that means turning in a new direction but in the end you may find that all of these things are interconnected. What you do is informed by all that you have done before. Every thing you have learned will carry over into what ever you do next. Maybe you'll build a container next. Maybe a pilot rig. One with low pack volume fabric. A better smaller canopy for them. Don't want to deal with a TSO? Maybe build a base rig. Want to do some thing new? Maybe build a modern version of a Sorcerer for the wing suiters. They jump slider up all the time. Maybe it's time they started carring a reserve? Or if you want to stick with canopies, how about doing some thing commercial. High percesion cargo is a thing. Militaries are investing large amounts of money in it in all sizes. There is a contract for a powered one to extend cross range. How about a high altitude eye in the sky, an air deployed aero stat. High altitude balloon. You can shoot down a drone even a big one at 30,000 ft but it's a lot harder to hit some thing at 80,000 feet. Who know were life will take you. Right now I'm actually taking an on line course. Fundamentals of space vehicle guidance, control, and astrodynamics. It's been a while since I stretched my brain cells this hard. Loving it. Getting into math I'd never dived into before. The only real secret in life is to not allow your self to become stagnant. And I still say the solution to all of your problems is to take out an ad in Parachutest or what ever you have over there selling canopies. You are now "Manufacturer" and blow a big fat raspberry at them. They don't want to run your ad, fine put it in parachutist and sell them here. Let me know and I'll renew just to have a copy of your ad to frame. Lee

I must be old, but I remember the USA removing nuclear weapons from Turkey and Spain in the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis. When did the USA sneak nuclear weapons back into Turkey? As for Syria invading Turkey … Hah! Hah!

How do your “Christian” buddies feel about Trump’s betrayal of the Christian Kurds to the Muslim Turks? Seems like the action of a Judas to me, with his business interests in Turkey counting as the pieces of silver.

Well...Who'd have thunk this would make it all the way to the Supreme Court? All sorts of puff-pieces out there about this guy. Nobody likes to speak ill of the departed, of course. I have no opinion either way, because I didn't know him. Just interesting reading these old posts with the case before the SCOTUS 9 years later.
