DC-9 Jet at Perris

Recommended Posts

Well, the Perris DC-9 took off for New Orleans on Saturday night. It took off, did a fly-by for our U.S. Nationals Closing Ceremonies, then winged it's way south-east. It's on it's way to pick up doctors and take them to New Orleans so they can assist with the Hurricane Katrina victims.

God Bless the volunteers. God Bless those they go to help.

Is that cuz' it doesn't suit your idea of a timeline?

Nope, it's because if the plane actually starts flying loads, it will only be used once or twice a month at Perris. It isn't an aircraft that will ever be used during weekdays. It is strictly for novelty and for that reason, it will spend most of the year on the boogie circuit.

I thought it looked rather nice sat on the tarmac :)
As for using it during weekdays, when I was there they had
trouble filling an Otter during the week :D.

Hats off to them though, at least the put the Otter up half full. Can you imagine putting the jet up with 2 hop n pops from 5k and 10 others to 12.5 k ?

SF'n What ? Do they need a permit from you to park a jet at their airport ?

So the ink is still drying but we have fresh from the FAA office our permanent STC allowing us to skydive from the DC-9 Jet! Just in time for our Holiday Boogie so come on out on Saturday and help us break that bad boy in.

Shame I'm in the UK so I can't come on down on Saturday...:(

Hope all those who can make it enjoy it though!:)

[typing this from a computer in the Bombshelter] I hope to raise enough ruckus tomorrow (Friday) to get it to fly....c'mon people. You know you want it.

Sunday!!! I'm in NC right now and something tells me CSS and Raeford don't have a DC-9 :D
I really don't know what I'm talking about.
