Un-guild your eyes and see where the politics did him in....

It is my belief that he used the media and the events of the investigation to get him in to Book ville -

Whats his net worth gone up to since all this transpired?

So is it politics or is it business?

So the public announcements of Clinton investigations during an election were anti-Republican, were they? His almost lifelong Republican party affiliation was nothing but a long-con, because he somehow knew he'd one day be in a position to undermine a Republican president?

Come on, look past your own bias and see how crazy you sound. Look ast your own bias and think that if you're incapable of identifying any specific things that Comey has actually done to support your argument then you might just be talking crap.

I think he did what he did out of self interest.

I also think it was as wrong.

I don't - I am simply pointing out that someone that prominent in the news may have created the scenario on purpose.

No, you are stating that you believe he has done that. Which also means you believe he would have absolutely no integrity.

I was looking at the positive side and thought maybe you meant you were upset that he had integrity in his work, but now is going to use his former position to make money.

Did what, though? Or are you just going to cop out again and say 'everything'?

You are wrong about the first part.

I believe he MAY have done that - I haven't made up my mind yet.

I am going to wait for more of this to unfold.

The second part is mostly right.

As what?

As announcing that there would be an investigation right before election time.

1) Playing politics and stirring up the media as election time was coming in season.

2) Playing that card and profiting from it.

3) Not being genuine.

4) Telling half truths to further his agenda.

His office is not supposed to be a political one and yet he made it into one.

I'd be surprised if he didn't run for an office after this shit storm calms down.

If you only think he may have done that and you haven't made up your mind, than why did you state this?

It is my belief that he used the media and the events of the investigation to get him in to Book ville -

Yep.  Nothing proves your Christian credentials like saying there will be no clemency and almost no mercy.  Who can forget Christ's Merciless Executions on the Mount?

Yep -- we're seeing an extreme group that wants to implement Sharia Law here in the U.S.

(ETA:  Sorry, I know this post is from a couple of pages back.  I'm just getting caught up on my reading!)

Right, so that's the only thing you can name that proves he's never been a genuine Republican? Publically investigating the Democrat candidate during a Presidential election?

Are you for real?

Hang on a minute - you said that everything Comey has ever done shows he's not a Republican, then you said he's not a Republican because he's a sell out, now you're saying you don't actually know if he's a sell out?

You said I only disagreed with your version because I was biased and had gilded eyes, now it turns out that you haven't even decided if you believe your version yet?

What's your endgame here? Are you really posting just to generate an argument?

Comey at one point called himself a Republican. What does that mean? Is he a party member? Does he lean that way? Who gets to decide? There are only two options for major parties to choose from in America. Comey is more conservative than liberal and he makes a living as a Washington lawyer. He had to pick a side like everyone else there does.

Was . . . an operative word.

What I wrote to John was that he IS . . . .

Apparently he now calls himself an independent. Like I said, America really only has two teams. No one can be completely ideologically pure in such a system.

So he attacked a democrat, and harmed her chances of election, out of self interest?

Sounds like he's a republican by definition.

Not really -

It sounds like someone out for their own self interest.

But you have to be willing to look at the whole story objectively.

Considering the comment this is a reply to - I doubt that is possible.

Again, sounds like a classic Republican.  One of the frequent objections that Republicans make about the Democratic platform is that it's "socialist" and that aid "makes people dependent."  They prefer to look out for their own self interest, rather than concern themselves with the issues of the have-nots.  (and minorities, and the LGBT people, etc.)

Going back to the OP, 2 weeks from May 2 was May 16.   Seems like yet another of Ron's predictions fell flat.

Well, to be fair, it really wasn't Ron's prediction.

He was just passing on a prediction from "Q-something".

Of course, he was gullible enough to believe it and pass it on as 'gospel truth.'

"just because you believe in evidence-based, scientific research – which is subject to strict checks and procedures – doesn't mean that your mind works in the same way."

"The problem that any rational thinker needs to tackle, though, is that the science increasingly shows that atheists are no more rational than theists. Indeed, atheists are just as susceptible as the next person to "group-think" and other non-rational forms of cognition. For example, religious and nonreligious people alike can end up following charismatic individuals without questioning them."

" Clearly, the idea that being atheist is down to rationality alone is starting to look distinctly irrational.  But the good news for all concerned is that rationality is overrated.  Human ingenuity rests on a lot more than rational thinking. . . The truth is that humans are not like science – none of us get by without irrational action, nor without sources of existential meaning and comfort. Fortunately, though, nobody has to."
