Michael Cohen Testifies

I didn't care to watch. I knew it was gonna be a Democratic shit show.

It was a Democratic and Republican shitshow.

What did Cohen say about Wikileaks releasing Hillary's emails?

That Trump knew about it beforehand, despite his denials.

Quote

Talking about collusion, Cohen said he worked with Elijah Cummings and Adam Schiff to prepare for his testimony.

Right.  Cummings led the panel.  Of course he talked to him before testifying in front of it.  Would it shock you to hear that a defendant talked to the judge before his sentencing?

Quote

Meanwhile, Trump is in Vietnam working with North Korea on the nuclear issues

And fawning all over a brutal dictator, and kicking out the press when they asked uncomfortable questions.

Quote

The Democrats are desperate.

From what we saw today, the Republicans are in a panic and are trying to do anything to sink anyone who speaks out against Trump.  One Trump supporter even tried to silence Cohen on Twitter by threatening to tell his wife dirt on him; looks like he's under investigation now for witness tampering.  It's like the GOP doesn't even understand the rule of law.

trump and his supporters are all falling over each other to portray what Cohen has said as a lie. Cohen still has a substantial personal wealth estimated at 20-40 million dollars.

trump has a well deserved reputation to sue anyone who attempts to defame or besmirch him. So whats stopping him now? trump has repeated frequently that Cohen and he enjoy the professional protections of solicitor-client privilege. A violation of that is a cause of action, so whats stopping him?

A honest, billionaire, President smeared by disbarred "liar". Should be a slam dunk for Rudy Giuliani or another ambulance chaser.

What did Cohen say about Wikileaks releasing Hillary's emails? Assange tweeted about it in June 2016, yet Roger Stone's discussion with Trump on that was apparently in July, after the fact. Doesn't add up for the Democrats.

Talking about collusion, Cohen said he worked with Elijah Cummings and Adam Schiff to prepare for his testimony. Sounds a lot like Hillary getting debate questions ahead of time during the lead up to the election.

Hell, even CNN is calling Cohen a liar. 9_9

Meanwhile, Trump is in Vietnam working with North Korea on the nuclear issues, as well as getting Vietnam to order $15 billion in Boeing aircraft orders. WINNING!

The Democrats are desperate. They'll do anything to get Trump out of the White House. :D

Collusion? My ass. It's all on the Democrats.

The Republicans in Congress are castigating Cohen as a liar, when he told the exact same lies as the President, on behalf of the President. Hypocrisy score 100%

And that was a very LAME attempt at distraction, Billy.  Have you been taking lessons from rushmc?

And here's the problem.

You want an opinion. You want that opinion to be taken seriously...

But you're too lazy to actually do the research that is required to actually generate an informed opinion.

Yes, it should.

But we have Trump. He already has targeted people he doesn't like. He has done a zillion things that the office of the President 'should be' above.

I would think at least some of those should be impeachable offenses.

But the Trumpettes simply don't care.
And the R party is totally spineless in the face of those idiots.

Public servants take an oath of office.  Many choose to place a hand on a holy book.  This is akin to being put under oath in court (IMHO).  Someone (legislative branch) should try the idea that the president has utterly broken his oath of office.

"I do solemnly swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; and that I bear true faith and allegiance to the same."  Was he crossing his fingers over that bible as he said these words?  His supporters -- ESPECIALLY the evangelicals -- should also be called out for allowing blasphemy of this scale.  Just MHO, as someone who HAS supported and defended the Constitution for nearly 3 decades.

What was really refreshing for me, was that rather than hearing all of this from the liberal media and then having to check all  their facts/sources, or the lack thereof, this time I got to just sit back, relax and watch all this shit coming straight out of the horse's ass.

I usually don't  get involved with political circle jerks in this forum, but this one's just too good to pass up.  What I find really interesting, entertaining and frustrating all at the same time is that when Cohen said that Trump never told him to lie to congress, or that he doesn't know about any collusion, or that he never went to Prague, some on the right have basically said, "See, no collusion, it's settled, Trump ain't so bad!"  But when it comes to all the other stuff it's "You're a Convicted Liar!"

One thing that bothered me however was that Cohen seemed a little bit too partisan and really vindictive.  He probably should've toned that down a bit.

I would also note that the administration replied to Cohen's testimony, attacking his credibility.  But not once did they deny anything he said.

The guy runs an absolutely brutal regime. I wouldn't call profiting off that winning.

Mind you, it wouldn't surprise me if you would have referred to Degesch's profits in the 40s as "winning".

I am happy to see people are starting to recognize this. I am fine with saying Cohen is a liar, therefor I don't give any credence to his testimony. I believe that to be a fair stance.

What many are doing is saying that Cohen is a liar and therefor I don't give credence to the parts of his testimony that are in my favour.

I think you meant to say "what many are doing is saying that Cohen is a liar and therefor I don't give credence to the parts of his testimony that are NOT in my favour."

And you're right.  Both sides are doing this, or will do this at some point.  I highly doubt that this would satisfy the dems wrt to the whole collusion thing, for example.

There is no longer a nuclear "issue", our government is fine with them having nukes now.

US negotiators no longer demanding North Korea agree to disclose full accounting of nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs as part of talks between President Trump and Kim Jong Un, according to current and former US officials.

Curious how the regional neighbors will feel about that....

Ya, I caught that bit.  First time I watched that show in about a year.  These guys have been working with Juan Wlliams for years.  Watters and Gutfeld have typically been the funny guys and hardly ever taken too seriously.  First time I've ever seen Gutfeld that agitated and pissed off.

His closing statement was a joke.  For those who didn't hear it:  https://www.nbcnews.com/video/watch-cohen-s-full-closing-statement-at-house-hearing-1449463363629  It's two minutes of him deriding Trump and invoking images of patriotism and righteousness that Cohen himself would never have followed had he not been caught being a sleezebag.

Looks like Trump got frustrated and walked out of the meeting with North Korea.

Are you sick of all the winning yet?

What?

He told us that problem was solved 8 months ago:

Trump: I 'fully' understand why North Korea will never denuclearize

Trump trusts Kim's 'word' that he was unaware of Otto Warmbier mistreatment

'I don't believe that he would have allowed that to happen.'

So basically the Trump’s summits are a smashing success

First Nobel Peace prize is in the bag. Now:

Trump predicts 'good shot' at achieving 'impossible' Middle East peace deal

While those bastard Dems are trying to hurt trump's second prize

US Mideast peace plan is ‘dead upon arrival’

Israeli minister says Trump peace plan a ‘waste of time’

“I think that the gap between the Israelis and Palestinians is much too big to be bridged,” Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked said at a conference organized by the Jerusalem Post newspaper.'

" The Palestinians have already vowed to block Trump’s peace plan and severed ties with his administration after his December decision to move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and declare the city Israel’s capital. ...

Trump has also cut some $500 million in aid to the Palestinians, who accuse the White House of seeking to blackmail them into accepting a plan they view as blatantly biased in favor of Israel. "

Its called a Potemkin village and trump has used it many times before:

"The United States' President Donald Trump's business councils have been described as Potemkin Villages after several high-profile CEO participants resigned in August 2017.[40] Trump's The Art of the Deal describes a stunt in which he lured Holiday Inn executives into investing in an Atlantic City casino by directing his construction manager to rent dozens of pieces of heavy equipment, in advance of a visit by the executives, to move dirt around on the proposed casino site, creating the illusion that construction was underway.[41]

It's the art of the deal.

Demand something. Storm out like a petulant child when you don't instantly get your way...

This is EXACTLY the behavior I'm getting from my 2 year old at the moment. Seriously.
