Judge rules against creationist teacher who called Buddhist 6th grader "Stupid"

Certainly, an incorrect and unfortunate response by the teacher. The teacher missed an opportunity to teach.

I am blessed to live in the north GA mountains. We choose to reach out to the normal folks and show them the truth.

I think he means its "whites only"

Nope. You're confused.

There's "normal folks," "regular folks," and "po' folks."

Got it? ;)
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Interesting that you label the others as "Normal" .. should I infer from that, that your group is not normal? :P:P

There are three types of normality.

1. Statistical: Mean, Mode, Median
2. Moral
3. Concept of Self

Someone said something to my kid I didn't like.

Wah.

Let's file a lawsuit.

Wasted teachable moment for the child that they will have to deal with morons throughout their life, and ways to handle them.

You're on the wrong side of history, and the wrong side of teachable moments.

I'm with one of the commenters on that piece:

"The religion nonsense aside, any teacher who calls a student "stupid" should never be allowed to set foot in a classroom again."

Did you read the story?
Are you aware of the steps the parents took before they filed suit?
And the response they got?

People in the south complain about being pigeonholed as intolerant, bible thumping bigots.

Then you have stuff like this that reinforces the stereotype.

>Which would have led to the question 'Who's stupid now for their beliefs?' Teach
>the kid to stand up for themself, or run to a lawyer? Tough choice.

I think such parental guidance would tend to prepare kids for Internet forums rather than an effective life in the real world.

Now, the kid could have turned it around on the teacher pointing out the stupidity of Christianity throughout history. Crusades, inquisitions, wars, etc. etc. Which would have led to the question 'Who's stupid now for their beliefs?'

Which would have led to what response from the teacher (who has the power in the classroom, and who was being supported by the school board)?
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

That is a ridiculous statement.

Ron, based on your writings here, the conclusion that you meant "whites only" is one that makes perfect sense.

Hypocrites HATE being called out for their hypocrisy.

Speaking of hypocrites, have you stopped taking Social Security payments and stopped using Medicare services yet?
You have written plenty here about your supposed hatred of Socialism, while at the same time you partake of the benefits of the most Socialistic programs administered by the US Government. If you had one iota of integrity, you would back up your professed hatred of Socialism by declining to partake in the benefits of the programs.

When do you plan to stop taking the benefits, Ron?

If you are going to keep taking the benefits, how about a smidgen of honesty? You could write something along the lines of "I really, really hate Socialism, except when I personally benefit from it. The programs that help me have been helpful to many deserving people. When it helps people that I don't like, then I am opposed to it." That would be somewhat honest.

What is it going to be, Ron? Utter hypocrisy, or a slight bit of honesty?

I pray that you find peace through meaningful purpose. Jesus Christ is your answer. May you find Him soon.
