indyz 1 #6 July 15, 2002 1 check receieved by the DZ : 0 : 0 Not too bad. My container and reserve ship as soon as the check clears (Monday or Tuesday). Still shopping around on a main. I basically have it narrowed down to a 400 jump Sabre, 300 jump Spectre, or 15 jump Hornet. I'll probably go with one of the PD canopies. Do I want casual CReW, or do I want to get back from the long spots? Too many damn decisions. Maybe I'll just flip a coin or something. kingbunky 3 #7 July 15, 2002 :1:? not sure how many firsts, first release dive for one, but i TOTALLY blew my level four today. was supposed to exit, turn 90 right to face the instructor, then turn 180 right, check altitude and repeat down to 4500, then wave off. took three tries to get the 90, then every time i tried the 180 i ended up going left instead of right. later i was told my feet were all over the place, steering me left and overriding my shoulder input to turn right. aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhggggggggg!!!!!!! i'm so pissed at me. but it could have been worse, might not have jumped at all!"Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." No uncontrolled flipping and spinning, just sweet 90o and 360o turns. I'm backsliding a bit though, and I don't even notice it. Have to fix that up. My load went up shortly after a thundershower swept through, and the light was so fantastic that I just wanted to look around at first. So beautiful up there! So close to being solo... next week? (205) I haven't let anyone pack for me in 100+ jumps, but last week I was tired, and Jen was available to pack. Had her pack my Spectre, but really had the willies about it when I went to jump, cause I just don't use a packer. Brilliant person I am, I decided to try it out in zero knot wind. Almost peed in my pants at the ground speed. Managed to stand the landing! Other highlights: finally seeing the Denny's video, sunset loads, atomic sit ups, and drunk harness hanging! Overall, an awesome weekend. Met skymedic for beers saturday night, then drove out to the DZ sunday. First jump with some new gear that skybytch sold me WEEKS ago. First jump with OmriMon - a sweet two way freefly jump with two docks. He was in a stand, me in a sit. My GOD that boy is a lightweight... After watching people jump all day and playing with my new toy (pc12), took Omri into town for some dinner and social time.
