beowulf 1 #1 October 5, 2003 I did a search and found that there were no poll's for what religion does every one believe in. This is not to encite any arguments over who is right and who is wrong. Just curious as to what everyone believes in. I personally don't believe in any religion but do think there is a god. I have no idea what he has in mind for everyone here and I don't think that any one else really knows either. I don't believe the bible is from god anymore then any other book. They were all written by man.

smiles 0 #4 October 5, 2003 I was around 5 years old when my uncle took my sister, brother and I to a evangical holly rollin church and I was terrifed. People were yelling and screaming and I cried until safe at home again. Unsure if this is why to this day I cannot stand "preachers"....or anyone trying to "sell." Went to sunday school at United Church when young and it was a nice experience.I believe we all develop our "values" in life, and to each their own. My life is simple, I fully accept that I make the best possible of this life I can, and then I die- period. SMiles

Amazon 7 #11 October 5, 2003 I believe in letting people CHOOSE whatever makes sence to them to worship as far as a diety goes. BUT when your beliefs extend BEYOND your life and you start shoving your beliefs down others throat.. you need to BTFU and remember WHO in the long run gets to do the judging concering how you did in your lifetime. You have no right whatsoever cramming your sence of morality into my or anyone elses life. If more human beings would adapt to the idea of religeous tolerance... pershaps war and most of the strife on this planet would finally dissappear... and we could all finally be at peace. chuteless 1 #17 October 6, 2003 the Bible says: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation, for the prophecy came not in old time by the "will of man" but of holy men of God (chosen by God Himself) spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2nd Peter:20,21) Psalms 14:1 says, " The fool hath said in his heart there is no God" Of course there is one God and only ONE. Take the time to look around you and see His work of creation. The miracle of the human being, how its developed, and grows, all His work. The Bible is right....only a fool would deny something so obvious. Bill Cole D-41 . Dumpster 0 #19 October 6, 2003 Late into the thread - I don't subscribe any particular religion or any God for that matter, but to each his own, unless you start killing children or some stupid shit in the name of your God. There have been more people killed in the name of some God or some religion than for any other reason. And all these religions that preach peace and good will and love thy neighbor, then kill them. Personally I feel religion is for the weak-minded. Easy Does It

WrongWay 0 #21 October 6, 2003 I believe in God, but don't follow any religion. Personally, I think that organized religion is what kills people, literally. Most religions are based around the same idea: there's a higher being, you're good you go to some kind of heaven, youre bad you go to some kind of hell. It's the little nitpicky things that makes each one different, and its cuz of those minor insignificant details that things like the holocaust and other such meaningless slaughter was caused. The crusades, most major wars up until the last few hundred years, all of it was because of different beliefs. It's a ridiculous reason for human quarrel. If you ask me, here's what we should all do. Believe what you believe, but as long as we all try to be good people and accept other people for who they are, that's when we will get our rewards in the end. Personally, I don't care what you believe. If you're a good person, I'll be your friend. Wrong Way D #27371 Mal Manera Rodriguez Cajun Chicken Ø Hellfish #451 The wiser wolf prevails. Casch 0 #25 October 6, 2003 I don't really have beliefs, I have "Ideas". Ever seen Dogma? I believe in treating everyone with kindness, even those who choose not to do the same for me (I still allow myself to have an imaginary fist fight with them though...and I always win ). I believe in being kind to plants and wild life. I won't destroy either unless I need too. I don't believe that everything we know today originated from a gasseous explosion, and I don't believe that we evolved from single cell organisms. I believe that someone or something put this together, and our minds cannot comprehend how that could have happened. I guess I could say my beliefs are linked closest with Christianity, but a few years ago I thought to myself...there are literally thousands of religions. How on earth am I supposed to choose "the right one"? So I choose to believe in the basic structure of all religions; be kind to yourself and others. Voila! That's my belief.
