kallend 1,666 #1 July 7, 2005 Was just playing Pink Floyd's "Meddle" album and got to wondering, is there any rock track longer than "Echoes", at 23.5 minutes?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
kingbunky 3 #2 July 7, 2005 i think steve miller had a song called 'macho city' or somthing that took up a whole album side. 23 minutes would probably be an upper limit due to that..."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." I'm listening to the same music as Kallend. But seriously, I just got a copy of 2001: A Space Odyssey dubbed with the music from Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother & Meddle. Echoes is set to Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite. Pretty cool. I think Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused (on the Song Remains the Same) comes in at 25+. The111 1 #10 July 7, 2005 There's a metal band I listen to called "Edge of Sanity", and they have an album called Crimson with exactly one track on it - 40 minutes long. I think it's semantics though to some extent. Dark Side of the Moon is practically one song as far as I'm concerned... EDIT: A search of my HDD revealed another 23.5 minute Floyd track - Atom Heart Mother. A post-rock band called Godspeed You Black Emperor! regularly puts out 23 minute tracks... and I'd imagine there are other post-rock bands that have this topped. Tubular Bells is a great album too.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The111 1 #13 July 7, 2005 Interesting Although another report I found of the same song described it as only 26 hours. Not sure you could find that one on a CD though. EDIT: Gotta love being Google-beaten by a few seconds.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
