EDIT

I met him awhile ago when I sold him some Hi Def equipment when it first came out about 10 years ago.(damn...has it been that long already?) Great guy...good advice on life that has stuck with me...he gave me an autograpgh copy of his album "Cool Breeze" I liked it, but his Seager stuff rocked!!!!

Ernie Watts.

A friends sister used to house sit for his family when they were out of town and got to be pretty good friends with him and we went tto visit her one Christmas season back in the 80's...we got to wander around his neighboorhood singing Christmas Carols for neighbors with accompanyment by Ernie and some of his friends...Christmas carols never sounded so good. His range is just AMAZING

man you are missing some greats! I love Jazz Sax!
Glad you have Coleman Hawkins on your list...

A few of mine are (in no special order) below. I encourage you to check them out if you haven't yet:

John Coltrane
Charlie Parker
Lester Young
Cannonball Adderley
Ornette Colemen
Joe Farrell
Stan Getz
Roland Kirk
Pharoah Sanders (caught him a couple years ago, still fun to hear him!)
Wayne Shorter (check out 'Native Dancer' with Brazilian Milton Nascimento)
Stanley Turrentine (I finally got his autograph at his last show...he died next day!)
Grover Washington (before that style became 'smooth jazz' he was a fav)

check out this list and pick your favorites!

There was sax before John Coltrane and there was sax AFTER John Coltrane.

When you've got guitar-slinging cats like George Benson, John McLaughlin, Jimi Hendrix and Joe Satriani who have directly credited or directly credited Coltrane with influencing them, that says something.

While I'm not the greatest jazz guy, there are some other notable sax guys. John Helliwell did some good stuff (part of Supertramp and sat in on a lto of sessions).

If I was to reply anything other than 'my girlfriend' to this thread I think I'd be sleeping on the couch for a loooong time. :|
