  1. Based on Sangi's change of attitude in the nationals thread and VB's increasingly defensive/avoidant tone I'd have to say VB is officially at the top of the dropzone DGIT list now http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  2. Can I buy my bounce bingo ticket now please? I'd like to beat the rush. All joking aside... If the jump numbers in your profile is up to date (hell even if you have many more jumps than that) do yourself a favor and read through the threads on here about Sangi.
  3. Ruh Roh. Maybe he needs to meet Sangi? Or, the kid from the Pacific NW? Or, how many others? Just wait there's more coming We used to say "Who said skydivers are stupid they invented a new way to kill themselves" and now the young ones are doing the same stupid shit To bad so sad R One Jump Wonder
  4. That comes across as a fairly twisted question... Why would you want anyone to see it? Are you asking because you want to watch it? There's absolutely nothing to learn from it. That's not true, unfortunately. One of the very biggest problems with the Mad Skillz set is that the danger is not real to them. They say "oh I understand the risks" but really, they don't. They can't. It's an abstract thing, something that happens to other people - something that is just words. Seeing and hearing someone hook in is one hard way it gets brought home. Seeing first-person video might be another. By the way Sangi, we haven't met in person but we've crossed paths in the past elsewhere. I'm very, very glad you're alive. Heal fast, and I hope to see you skydiving somewhere one day. -- "I'll tell you how all skydivers are judged, . They are judged by the laws of physics." - kkeenan "You jump out, pull the string and either live or die. What's there to be good at?
  5. Ruh Roh. Maybe he needs to meet Sangi? Or, the kid from the Pacific NW? Or, how many others? My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
  6. i have gotten sangi's adress; if you've asked me for it and i havent PM'd it to you yet, please send me another PM. i pretty much went through my inbox and i THINK i have everyone down, but in case i dont.. if you've thought about it and now have decided to send him something out of support, just shoot me a PM and i'll send it to you too! THANKS!!!
  7. There is an old story I heard either from a comedian or from a movie: If one person thinks you are an ass.... Screw em. If two people think you are an ass.... Think about it. If three or more think you are an ass.... You are. So if just one person thinks you are in danger... Ignore them. But if a bunch of people think you are... then you are. And tcnelson and your buddy Sangi should show you the error of your ways. I hope we don't read a thread about you someday.... But history shows that thinking you know more than everyone else does not normally end well. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  8. >what i do remember tough is "takes advice from dz.com" - i dont do that. Weren't you just posting about how proud you were that someone took your advice from DZ.com? >the last words i have on this is following: i know, i have a small chute, and i >know the risks. i dont really care for "being or looking cool". i'm playing things >as safe as possible (except for the small wing). Sangi: =========== I think you oldies should realize that people are not standing in one place and that "the good old days" won't be there forever, everything is moving, people are getting better at everything and doing new and new stuff... As far as I read every generation gets smarter than the old one... Every generation evolves, gets better at everything, so yeah the new guys are better than what you were like 20-30 years and people will be better than us right now after 20-30 years, it's all natural... ===========
  9. VB... The last time I posted this was when I updated it for Sangi (Katana 135 @ 200 jumps). Now I've modified it for you.... In hopes that you never fill your card. check out th bottom row.... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  10. I just offered to send Sangi $100 if you upsized. So how about it? Tell you what, I'll double it. $200. You can have half if you like; perhaps put it towards a larger canopy. What say you?
  11. Well it seems like your attitude has changed, we dont know how or why you learned your lesson (unless I missed it somewhere) because you wont share. You are one of the people that learn luckily before you end up like Sangi. VB you next?? come on everybody is doing it "skybrother"
  12. This is the second thread I can think of where we have someone being told that they may not have the mad skillz that they think they have, and then they pound in. At least Sangi is still around.... Maybe we can make a sticky and hope that these two documented cases convince someone to slow it up a bit... The Setup: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1111481#1111481 The Incident: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2346556;search_string=xenia%20;#2346556 Good judgement comes from experience, and most of that comes from bad judgement.
  13. I have to ask, and keep in mind it's politely as possible, but how many more people need to jump in and say something for it to become obvious that it's just not one or two 'trolls' or an 'everybody is out to get you' thing? I don't think they're out to hose you, VB. They just don't want you broke. Like looking out for another skybrother, just like you said you've tried via friendly advice for Sangi in the past.
  14. I never thought I'd see the day. DocPop giving virgin-burner canopy lessons in a Sangi crash thread. What a coincidence! Seriously, all 3 of you are the cool ones, WERE ALL THE IDIOTS. Case in point right here, and VB how dare you give anyone crap about ruining your thread, thats all you do on here.
  15. I am glad that Sangi isn't paralized for life and not dead. But I don't really have any interest in donating any money. He took the risks and is paying the price. He needs to just man up and take his medicine. He had ample warning that he was exceeding his obvious skill level. He posted plenty of video to confirm that besides the obvious low jump numbers and high wingloading. Now he gets to pay the price for not listening.
  16. Yeah, yeah, now tell us about your Mad Skilzz. I'll tell you how all skydivers are judged, Sangi. They are judged by the laws of physics. The old, the new, the cool and uncool, on a bad day, they all hit the ground at the same speed, with pretty much the same results. Yoink. -- "I'll tell you how all skydivers are judged, . They are judged by the laws of physics." - kkeenan "You jump out, pull the string and either live or die. What's there to be good at?
  17. So I'm flying a Nav 220 and want to go down Stiletto 150 because its just soo much easier to pack. Ok just kidding, but I knew it would get more people's attention. I'm reality I am flying the NAV 220, I stand up all my landings just fine and am thinking of demo'ing the Sabre 210 that they have on my DZ. So my original WL is 0.795:1 the Sabre2 WL would be 0.833:1 I have talked to my DZO's my instructors and they think its ok once I finish my A-license and have seen me under canopy. I am just wanting to hear people's opinion on the switch from NAV 220 to Sabre 210. I have heard that some dropzones (skydive chicago I think) use Sabre's for their students. The PD website has me on the weight to keep me in the student range for that canopy. Just to reconfirm I am not buying, just going to demo the one they have on the DZ. I am not, repeat not trying to pull a Sangi (heal quick). I am signed up to take a canopy control class in December when I am going to be in Eloy for a week. I am very safety conscious, maybe overly (but I figure it can't ever be overboard in this sport). When I finally bought my own analog Alti, the first jump I wore the older rental one to know it was working. I have no desire to bounce or push my limits beyond my skills. There is a very good chance I don't do it, as the most weight I will give is to my instructors and DZO who have seen all my landings and taught me all I know (short of the knowledge that this great forum provides) I am just curious to what this forum says since I have a few days til I head out to the DZ. TL:DR NAV 220 to Sabre 210 opinions? (body weight 145 exit weight roughly 170)
  18. >i'm trying to get something together for a crashed skybrother Which is a worthy cause. But still, I am getting very very sick of donating $100 here, $100 there to help someone who broke themselves when it would be a lot easier to not break yourself to begin with. So I'll make you a deal. You agree to upsize within the next month and I will send Sangi $100 (or buy him that book, or whatever you think will best help him out, just send me the details.) That way I'll help him out and not need to help you out in another six months.
  19. Ill contribute to a present the moment Sangi's accident convinces VB to also fix his wingload/experience issue. Chris, I've seen you land with crap accuracy at Texel with that thing. Be it 'only'a Safire. You need a massive upsize. You're a good mate and all, but for sure I agree with what several people up here say. Practice what you preach.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. OK, three points: 1. You have not given a reason why you are flying what you fly despite several requests from several people. You go right into justification mode and start throwing out reasons why you're different. I did it - guilty. So did Sangi - guilty and fucked up. 2. I have a Sabre2 150 in my profile, and it was there when you posted that I had no info. 3. You complain about me thread-hijacking and stalking and then you perpetuate the argument with another post and three posts of mine (talk about stalking). You don't have a defense for what you're flying, dude. That makes all your statements hypocritical. "The ground does not care who you are. It will always be tougher than the human behind the controls." ~ CanuckInUSA
  21. Maybe this guy? I forgot I posted that! Where's my ? and in case anyone missed it, a quote from Sangi on that thread: THAT's what he needs to unfuck. Not an apology, not a promise to do better. I honestly don't care about any of that. Everyone said he'd bounce, and he did. Move on. He needs to sort his fucking attitude out. As long as he believes he's any different to the million skydivers who came before him, then he'll go back to doing the same thing and you know what? The outcome will be exactly the same in another 5 years. I guarantee it.
  22. one of the reasons being the swiss do only have a license!? and we dont get it at 25 jumps, our system allows to bash students for way longer than that.. having various instructors which are dedicated canopy-pilots and coaches at the dz is quite helpful for your progression. but i'm pretty much done replying to people like DocPop which seems to get a kick out of stalking me on here.. oh, and as this thread shows, i'm in no way bashing my buddy, same for the others regarding sangi. i was and still am around for him. i believe that the biggest danger is not the canopy itself, but what is hanging underneath it.. and how one goes on about flying it, like cranking big turns or not.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  23. This intrigues me as well. You keep bashing your "friend" saying that he was dumb for jumping a canopy loaded so heavily but you are jumping a similar canopy and loaded fairly high. What are YOU doing to change your canopy piloting progression? You are still jumping a high performance canopy at a pretty heavy loading when you don't even have a D-license (or the Swiss equivalent)? I doubt he'll reply to you on this one, although I called him out on it and he started reeling off excuses for why he is different here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4193633;search_string=1.9;#4193633 He subsequently deleted his post but not before I quoted it in my reply. Ironically, one of his arguments was it was only a Safire. Now what was it that Sangi was flying.....? I brought it up as well and never got a response. Seems like VB likes to critique others but when he gets asked the same questions he shuts up and refuses to say a word.

  25. He who calls this place Dorkzone shall inherit the Earth. The real dorkzone is in that hospital bed. What a dorky place to be. Get well Sangi. Know that every day is now a gift you should feel lucky to have. Being the living dead isn't what you wanted, so get well and become the canopy nazi from hell.
