  2. Your truck's okay. I'm pretty sure your brand new truck in it's factory originality can lay ruin to the obvious "pre-runner" poser trucks here. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  3. Yup, lifted evenly. your son's right. the previous owner was a dumbshit('cuz see, a west coast chopper sticker raises the value of any vehicle by about $1000) the dealer actually tried to sell me that "pre-runner" concept in this truck. I couldn't convince the dealer that, with all the @#$%#$% weight that the tires added on plus all those gas shocks and red and yellow and chrome add-on chassis parts on an already 6000+ pound truck, a front diff axle second shaft and transfer case ain't going to make the truck considerably more cumbersome than it already is. I just can't see an eight foot tall 4 ton truck jumping whoop-dee-dos and hangin with the bad boys. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  4. Yeah, I know. I test drove the truck out of nostalgia. Back in high school a lot of us had these type of trucks(maybe not so brand new) and did a lot of parties miles out in the desert. there would be like 10 to 15 trucks, broncos ect. girlfrends, pals, a keg or a lot of cases of beers and some sacrificial tires. I never fathomed a raised truck not being 4X4. the car dealer, nonetheless, witnessed a schitzophrenic reaction on my part. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  5. Nah. . .Not a californian by birth. Where i'm from, we don't push those things past 60. that's outright dangerous. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  6. . . .or did I miss another truck fad? Long story short, I went to the used car sales event at Qualcomm stadium and test drove a F-250 7.whatever litre diesel with monster tires, bling-bling shocks, skidpads and westcoast chopper sticker. At the tail end of the test drive, I pulled into the home depot and stopped the truck to hear it change into 4X4 when after a few seconds of searching realised that there was no switch or stick shifter. "This is a four-wheel-drive, right?" I asked. You guessed it. Nope. previous owner forgot to add the transfer case and front diffrential on the beautification project. Is lifting 4X2's a new thing? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  7. naaah. . .love my job. I got bored one day and calculated how much I make an hour based on my annual income and how much actual time I spend in the office. Came out to about $250 an hour.
  8. for the last 13 years, I have just missed watching "A Charlie Brown's Christmas". this year, I swear, I'll catch it in time. I caught Rudolf the Red Nosed Raindeer yesterday. It's been about 25 years. Never realized this. . .Why the hell does cornelius have a poodle for a sled dog? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  9. I always thought nobody can touch your score unless they have your social security number. I figure anyone can cross-reference your address and name but your ssn was your only legal identifier. I've told BMG and Columbia house to go !@#$ themselves when they claim I owed them money and nothing ever came from it. Info from Driver's License maybe? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  12. Fair enough. I definely agree to that reason. I just wonder how much of the author's desire comes from the romanticism of travel. He discounts the shuttle-orbiting expeirments for favor of going to other planets. I think there's a lot to learn from the shuttle flights that may actually be bedrock for future travel and long term visits. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  13. I think it's a good idea. I'd have to talk with an old guy, but was the whole concept of having a manned flight and the expense of it brought up as a selling point to the public for an exceptionally expensive race to the moon? (I couldn't imagine any congressional approval without there being people in those capsules) I know going to the moon and beyond was around for eons but the biggest explosion seemed to have hapened after sputnik. after kennedy's speech, knowledge of space exploded to the general public and a lot of romantic thoughts popped up in the form of science fiction and tv shows(star trek). It took a lot of power just to get 3 people and their Lunar Excursion Modules out of the atmosphere(A saturn 5 booster just to get it moving for a few minutes). My opinion of this is: why waste so much money on something that doesn't really require a human to be a part of in the first place? Especially if all this romanticism(if my theory is true) stemmed from a marketing project to get congress to bite? Is the romance really worth the money? Should the thought be obsolete? Do we have to go into space because Star Trek and Star wars say it's cool? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  14. The rest of the world doesn't need us for anything. They can get by without any of our products. With that: The U.S. economy doesn't exist anymore. It's Global. The traditional laborer of yesteryear is becoming obsolete. They will not disappear, there will just be a lot less. We will continue to outsource; other countries will continue to manufacture in the U.S. also. A lot of american workers are building foriegn products here after all(Nissan, Mercedes ect. ect.) Trying to hold on to an old idea will hurt us greatly. If we don't move forward with the rest of the world, everyone else is going to move on without us. So, the reason why we are outsourcing? CEOs knows this and are jumping in. They have to turn a profit or shareholders/consumers will abandon the company. Laws will do nothing but hurt the country that is trying to impose them. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  15. I blame the internet personally. Those numbers show me that we have to play "catch up" _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  16. Welcome to the global economy. We are now competing with the rest of the world for jobs. It is now very important what other contries are doing in their markets. With big revolutional changes, obsolete groups disappear. At this point, the gone jobs will never come back. Unemployment is only going to decrease with innovative new jobs being created. We have no choice but to follow. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  17. Hypothetically speaking, I would carry the rounds that would incapacitate. I own guns and used guns for work but don't carry. I don't like hurting people. I'm not against concealed laws but I have felt a lot of "barney Fife" vibes from most people that do carry. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  18. I don't think most people will watch it. In fact, it being out shows me the author lacks confidence in the general population's ability to see through this documentary. I think i feel a twinge of insult. Moore's use of opinionated inferrences, red herrings, and off-beat syllogisms are the exact same tool advertisers use to market stuff. The facts don't even have to be refuted. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  19. And this idea will malfuntion quite a bit. too complex. too many variables. I was trying to voice against over-technologizing something i feel doesn't need to be fixed in the first place. I like K.I.S.S. It's Popular Science/Mechanics vs. Real World Experience. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  20. Could work. It wouldn't be a cheap bullet. Plus, since it would be exceptionally complex (it would need to be able to measure speed of the bullet since the release of the shock/tanquilizer would depend on the inertia after the impact of the bullet on the body) But all the technology to make it both work and be cheap would also change everything else. It probably wouldn't need the gun in the first place. Technological advancement tends to change everything and ways of thinking at the same time. It's the old Star Track Fallacy. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  23. I don't think you made the spoiler high enough. Two more feet would have netted 15 horsepower. You see, if the car is shaped like a shopping cart, it's at its peak areodynamic advantage. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
