    Scrat!!

He's actually in a short just before the movie. Trust me. . . you probably would want to claim avatar rights for various stills on his misadventure Robots wasn't too bad either. I definitely would buy the dvd when it comes out. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  8. I had a bunch of crap I had to lose too. I'm a packrat. the last set of flooding and mudsliding here in san diego took care of all that for me. I'm now down to two couches, my computer, tv and stereo, important paperwork, two of my original three rigs and a float-tested pissed off cat. It took only one pickup truck load and move everything. It feels good only having that and a lot of stress is gone. I think I will stay like this for a while. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  9. I was there for about a week. It's a nice place. the waterfront with the european style architecture is neat. . .along with the bars and restaurants that occupy them. Across the river (over a footbridge that swings back and forth to allow for ships) there are casinos. Not too big but you can still have fun. A lot of Dutch influence from what I remember. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

    Land Ho!!!

I run by that ship from base every day. It's always been a beautiful sight to me. Moored right next to it is the HMS Surprise from that Russel Crowe movie. The Star Of India makes that ship look like a canoe. I've always liked those movies where you see ships broadsiding each other. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  11. Before Mirage changed their web page, they had three full pages of sample rigs. maybe you could ask them to put them back up if they still have them. That had helped me greatly. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  12. Another thing that waves a bullshit flag on these things is the debunk standard: "post-predicting". The prediction made after the "predicted" event. This fallacy isn't really prediction. A precise statement easily can be assigned back to a previously stated vague one(which is what really is happening on the said "predictions" intentionally or accidently.) I'm hazarding a guess as I have never read the book, but this is the standard mode of operation on all previoulsy written Nostrodamus-esque books. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  13. There's a lot that is left out on that airman's estimate of income. Like free medical and dental, housing. Is that airman living on base or collecting bah? Me; if I count only taxable income, I make the median US income. If all my allowances and other stuff come into pay (everyone gets some sort of tax free allowance) my income almost doubles. Far as families on WIC and food stamps? It does take some effort to put yourself in a position to where you are all of a sudden supporting a family. Why so early? I am for raising pay for military families but you got to understand that most of these food stamp recepients put themselves in this particuar situation. We have programs and training for new arrivees. They still farm babies. As far as the difference in pay? For the most part, that is true. But one has to watch out again what is not being said. Is some of these jobs that pay that much require a degree a normal E-3 doesn't have? Is that pay only in the DC area or is it standard throuout the US? Is that job always have openings or are you competing with the best of the Field? I am always for more money. But irresponsible people regardless of rank is always going to be broke. The number one reason according to Navy Relief Society why Sailors Marines ect. are always broke? Irresponsibility. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  14. I personally like those "God decided to give me a challenge in life, faith and will" speeches players say when they throw out their knee. Everyone is a Job when they play sports. On the other hand, the story isn't true. It's been floating around the internet and chain mail letters for years. It's usually a redneck Marine though. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
