  1. My hubby was military officer for several years and is now "attached" to the military as DoD Civilian... He just returned from his second trip to Iraq/Kuwait... He didn't have to stay as long as most of the soldiers did, had a 3 month break before returning, but email is a wonderful thing... I can't imagine what soldiers wives went throug prior to the email age, being as letters took 2-3 weeks on good weeks to get to them... 2. My home DZ is located on private grass/kaliche (sp) strip and when we do night jumps someone always has to run the strip with a vehicle or the golf carts to scare the deer off... You see them crossing the strip and standing off to the sides all the time... What we won't do to Jump! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  3. Madeleine's!! We ate breakfast there one morning..You're right and it rocks!! All we did was eat and drink (to excess) while we were there...
  4. We went to Emeril's restaurant back in November when Hubby was home on R&R... It was awesome, meal wasn't badly priced, but drink before you get there and after you leave... Bar tab was just as expensive as the meal!! And of course Cafe DuMonde for the Beignets and coffee in the morning!! I want to go back!! If you get the chance swing over to Moss Pointe and Gold Coast Skydiving! Great bunch of people! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  5. Well it's only because my hubby left 3-Jan-05 and won't be back until 2-Apr-05, but we'll make up for it once he gets back! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  6. Laughing.. I actually saw one on the road the other day... Was totally amazed it was still operational! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  7. Happy Quarter of a Century Old!! That's what my Dad told me on my 25th... Another good friend always says you have two choices get older or get dead.. So live it up and have a great day!! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  8. We have a lovable 150lb Newfoundland who just celebrated his 2nd birthday! Hard to believe he slept behind the commode when we brought him home! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  9. Usually pretty hot, think things through prior to going in, and don't become a victim yourself.. Use good body mechanics as well, had a couple guys end up with back strains because they were trying to be macho!! It was actually great experience for me though..
  10. Baking recipes or food recipes?? I love to bake, but have quite an extensive repertoire (sp) of recipes... Here's a kick butt never fail BBQ Brisket recipe... Brisket, BBQ Brisket rub (your favorite), 2 bottles Italian Dressing, your favorite BBQ sauce.. Place Brisket in large pan, rub both sides with brisket rub, then pour both bottles of Italian dressing ( I use the Zesty Italian)..Bake in a 250@ oven for 10-12 hours covered with aluminum foil. slice and serve with your favorite bbq sauce... It's always moist and so tender it falls apart..My family loves it chopped with lots of KC Masterpiece Sauce.. :>) "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

    Boundin!

Bought it today for my son's gift in his Easter Basket.. Actually he's too old for a basket any more, but still wants a gift or money and of course all the sweets! Bad thing is he took it with him to his Dad's for the weekend so now I'll have to wait til Sunday evening to watch it... "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  12. Laughing, well my hubby has been "overseas" with 1st CAV for the last year, on and off...He will be home between April 2-5.. We're in the process of doing IVF and found out that we will have to wait approximately 4 weeks after embryo transfer for any pelvic stimulation... I have the transfer this week...He threatened to tell his boss to keep him over there an additional couple of weeks.. Yeah I've gone 40 days and could go without for longer periods of time because he's not here, but every now and then it sneaks up on you... :>) "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  13. This can work against them though.. Just last spring I sat on civil lawsuit case involving a local car dealership screwing over a soldier (guess how we ruled)... But the dealership's attorney came across so arrogant and smug I truly think it worked against the dealership. Would rather do criminal jury trial then a civil any day.. Criminal is cut and dried, civil is wide open for opinion and interpretation. "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  14. Laughing...Too funny about OB/GYN's.. I think it depends on the Doc, but I love my male OB/GYN, he doesn't make me uncomfortable and honestly he listens to what I'm telling him... You're right though.. Isn't it funny how those people who have never had children or raised children write all the self-help books on child rearing? "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
  15. Listening and true communication... By true communication, saying how we feel even if it's not the "right" thing or we're afraid it'll upset the other person. It's funny, but my hubby and I "talk" in the evenings in the hot tub, it's an our time to be frank about what's going on with us, our family, work and other stuff. Some nights it's 10-15 minutes, other nights the water gets cool as we hash out things... Another thing is the old adage about "Not going to sleep on your wrath/anger"... It's a work in progress...It doesn't always work out how we feel it should, but it's working!! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
