I don't need to go to the joke of the day thread, some of the comments posted here make me laugh.

New York Judge rules to uphold religious exemption for vaccinations. NY Governor plans to fight it for health care workers. Looks like to me that a lot of people are going to find religion. https://wnbf.com/judge-rules-to-uphold-religious-exemption-to-ny-vax-mandate/

Not to worry, come Halloween the Great Pumpkin will bring the vaccine. You can trust him/her. Or you can wait until Christmas and Santa Claus will bring it. You really can trust Santa Claus. How about he Easter Bunny, he is pretty cute. Ok your last chance is the Tooth Fairy but it may cost you a tooth but no worries, they have dental implants. God doesn't seem to be too reliable, maybe he is on vacation or in ICU on a respirator,

My Parachutist finally showed up in the mail yesterday.
-
Maybe they ae safer now, don't have to worry about getting in a car accident on the way to work.
-
I guess I will have go to the post office and see what's up.

It is October 6 and I haven't received my October Parachutist. Is it just me or have others not received their October issue.

Good idea, I had shingles 2 years ago and I can tell you, you don't want to get it. I was on the list to get a shingles vaccination before but it was in short supply and I couldn't get it. Now that is available I will get the shot.

Sorry, I hit a wrong button. Somewhere there must be some sort of balance. 1) As the unvaccinated get sick, they are clogging up the health care system. Those who die, we don't have to worry about any longer, they won't have any future health care needs and their absence won't be adding any CO2 to the atmosphere. In addition, if they are of child bearing age, no future offspring in need of health care or fossil fuels. 2) If they get sick and survive, they may suffer from lingering health issues and need additional long term care or treatment. 3) If the unvaccinated luck out and don't contract the virus or have a mild case, they may spread it to other unvaccinated people and we are back to #1 and #2. 4) The vaccinated who don't get sick will survive and need normal health care as they age, use fossil fuels and may produce offspring who will need normal health care and also use fossil fuels. Maybe #1 is the best long term option. but what do I know.

I saw my cat hack up a hairball but he doesn't know anything about computers or taxis.

So a president elected for 2 terms could appoint 4 Justices.

You will have to go to the ocean to get them, remember "she sells sea shells by the sea shore"

What, no corn cobs? Do you remember the 3 cob corn kit, 2 red ones and one white one. You use the red one first, then the white one to see if you need the other red one.

You mean like the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, or the Great Pumpkin.

If Trump was still President, he would probably try to buy Afghanistan and build hotels.
-
It appears to me that the last 4 presidents, Clinton, Bush Jr, Obama and Trump aged more that a year for each year they were President. The job takes it's toll. Biden is already old and looks old, what kind of condition is he going to be in after 4 years in the White House. Maybe someone can do a computer generated age progression for Biden.

Bleach also showed effectiveness in similar contrived lab testing. Go figure, bleach in the petri dish destroy virus particles. But toilet bowl cleaner is such a pretty blue color

That's what I want to know. Why did the Americans in Afghanistan stand by the picture window watching the tornado come closer until it hit the front lawn before they took shelter.
-
It's too bad his advise wasn't followed.

The US was in Afghanistan for 20 years, Russia was there for 9. Afghanistan came in first but lost. The US came in second and lost, Russia came in third and lost. It seems like the only winners were the bomb and bullet makers. We were involved in Viet Nam from 1955 to 1973 with things really heating up around 1965. We still have troops in Korea. In the TV series MASH about the Korean War, Hawkeye Pierce basically said "The war will never be over, they will just take it on the road" So the question is "what country is next" or has the US finally learned their lesson...NOT.

My father used to say "I wish my kids had a rich old man"

Shhhh... don't tell them that, it will spoil everything

I just read most of the link and there may be a way to help convince someone to get the vaccine. Tell them it is win win situation. They can get the vaccine for free and have a good chance of protection from the virus. If they get the vaccine and have a bad reaction, they still may have some protection from the virus and live long enough to join a class action suit and get a whole lot of money.

People are willing to go through a number of diagnostic tests and procedures to prevent or treat disease or ailments including having a camera shoved up their ass yet they won't get vaccinated for something that may make them seriously ill or kill them. Oh, "it is not FDA approved", well neither are your beer or cigarettes. Sorry for the rant.
