Ooooooooo... you are one vicious woman! What? He already tried to be nice! You assume he has the time for more. Plus, he has to consider the possibility of a few extra bangs (may be a very small percentage overall) against dealing with exponentially more "crazy." I say he should take care of his own mental health and find the way to cut them away! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

    Clingers

It has been said many many times in many different ways. Responding to her only to seems to motivate her further. Next step: send it again, and CC her husband (or "accidentally" send it to him instead of her). See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
  3. Skydive City is hosting its 50th anniversary reunion for Turkey Boogie over Thanksgiving. Roughly 10 days of lots of fun stuff going on, and I would imagine a ton of fun people. Even if you don't jump, come on out to enjoy the festivities! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

    Clingers

This is why you get clingers. The IDEA of this is very appealing to many people who are doing what's "expected," or the "standard." Of course, they don't have to worry about the consequences of the reality (for example, they might be WAY out of their comfort zone if actually challenged to live it). The one-night stand may THINK she wants something more with you, but she really has NO idea what that really means (esp since you didn't spend enough time for her to really know you -- she just knows the cool/sexy stuff). The former GF with the kids? She's never going to leave them for you, but she may feel like she would get a recharge (so to speak) if she had what she knows would be a no-strings-attached, break-from-reality holiday to Australia. Over the course of making ever bolder statements and having to track you down, she's convinced herself that 1) she's earned it, and 2) you would be agreeable to such an arrangement. Doesn't matter that you blocked her access. You actually have to SAY, "I want nothing to do with you, so leave me alone you psycho!" (or some similar appropriate sentiment). For the one-nighter -- write something to her like, "sorry hun, but fuck you were a good, well, fuck. Sorry for being straight forward, but I don't want to catch up with you. I already got you out of my head." See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
  5. Apparently, my post got caught up in the whole server issue, so here it is again... This reminds me of a list of "friends vs real friends" examples. One of my favorites: A friend will help you move. A real friend will help you move bodies. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
  6. Even Richard Dawkins, who many have described as a "militant atheist," recommends the bible for literary reference in understanding American society, not to mention a litany of cliches and catch phrases that many don't remember originated from one bible story or another. 7. Absolutely tragic. Such a loss! I also only knew her from her posts here, but from them, she did seem like such a caring, passionate person. Condolences to her friends & family, especially young Braeden. Absolutely no doubt about her love for that little guy! Headphones

I don't get wearing headphones in your car. You don't GET loud stereos yet you're plugging up your ears with headphones? If you don't get LOUD stereos, why the headphones? Plug that iPod into your stereo and enjoy the music at a reasonable level. I assumed they were talking about a motorbike. I've kept out of it because I think anyone who wears earphones whilst riding is a total moron. I assumed he was talking about wearing them in a car since he mentioned nicer cars and stereos. But I think you're right, he was on a motorcycle. Either way, I stand by my comments. Be it car or motorcycles or even a pedal bike, headphones are as you say, moronic. When my dad rode, he had an integrated speaker/microphone in his helmet, so he could listen to the radio and talk on the CB. It plugged into the bike with a cable. I'm curious to know how that system is different? And actually he only used it for the CB, but the option was available. 14. And about that percentage in the US as well as on this forum seem to think that the three WTC towers were hit by holograms ten years ago today. (You're all the same on the inside). I call it hopeless. How about the number who think there were 3 towers? See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
  15. I still can't believe it couldn't have been worked out to do this in Manhattan. The memorial was dedicated yesterday -- this would have been absolutely awe inspiring to have the "full" event. Great article though, and excellent pics! Can't wait to see it in Parachutist.
  16. Can you clarify this part? Identify what issues specifically, and what issues need to be cutaway? That's one bit of instruction here in the States, and is used quite often by my instructors for refresher. The photos are of canopy malfunctions, as seen from below (hence holding the photo over the student's head). You (the student) pretend you have just deployed. "You look up at your canopy, and *this* is what you see. What do you do?" Some are total mals that need to be cut away (student executes cutaway motions), and some are partials, which the student can talk his/her way through. There's even a photo of a perfectly good canopy in the mix, just to be sure you're paying attention! ETA -- Sorry, Dragon -- misunderstood your question I think. Perhaps you were asking Max exactly *what* mals were presented in the photos? See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

  19. what a daft law True, but unfortunately for our OP, it's something that will certainly make him think about the suitability of the relationship! Not in this case. It's legal in Alberta at 18. Ah, yes. It does help to look at the poster's info once in awhile! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

  21. On the one hand, she is legally an adult. I would also say that sometimes it makes us appreciate the small things when we can see them through the eyes of someone else, who still sees it with wonder and amazement. On the other hand... I would gather from your post that you feel she is near your level of maturity? At least keep in the back of your mind the fact that she has NOT had the same opportunities for life experiences that you have. Just the fact that she's never flown should drive that point home. Even if all goes well, just keep that in mind and respect the need for her to continue to grow intellectually. And that may be separately from you. If you respect her and treat her with dignity, I don't see a problem here. I don't predict it will be permanent (you have to wait another year before you can even order wine with dinner with her), but you never know. 23. Hey, Turtle! Nice to see you again. Yeah, someone linked that on the "cool stuff you've stumbled across" thread (or something like that -- don't feel like doing a search). I have that webpage bookmarked, and it always brings me to tears. It's a great ab workout! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
  24. It was that damn French movie "La Femme Nikita". The whole reason they had to include the part about it being a feminine Nikita -- Nikita is a man's name! Like Sasha. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
  25. I felt the same way on my first tandem, except although I didn't get the "rush", or feel anxious at all, I did come down with a huge smile on my face because I did realize it was something I loved and knew I wanted to do more. +1 on all the folks here who recommend doing AFF. Maybe not "rush," but at least it's an entirely new ball game. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
