Don't be discouraged because of what you are hearing! There are actually alot of the big boys jumping. They have a skydiving family called the "Anvils". Look on the dropzone.com website or on Facebook and you will find quite a few of them over the country. They will be very encouraging to you, and you make make some friends who will help you with gear selection, dropzone acquaintainces and other questions you may have. My youngest sister has a very rare bone disease, her bones regenerate and morph at an incredible clip. She has actually had 1/2 of her bone mass removed on TWO occasions. A lesser person would have been declared 'disabled' and been living off of the government dole for the last 40 years. Not her. She works for an engineering firm that has been struggling thru the last 2 recessions. They have cut her hours to the minimum allowed for her insurance to continue, and SHE goes to the store, buys their cases of water and pop out of HER paycheck, carries them back to the firm and stocks the fridge, then puts in for a payback for the pop, water and all of the companys stamps. If she is lucky, they will repay her in the next paycheck. There were a couple of times that the old firm asked her to hold her paycheck for a week or so. Why does she do it? A) she doesn't have the education required to go somewhere else. B) she is too proud to go on welfare. We need more people like her in the good ol USA. I tried to watch an episode of CSI a couple of years ago. Some dead guy in a yard, and the agents are picking up evidence by holding a rubber glove in their bare hands. First they pick something up out of a mud puddle, and then they used the same sopping wet glove to pick up some other piece of dry evidence. I'm thinking, "didn't ANYBODY on this show hear of the OJ Simpson evidence?" We all know how badly those cops screwed up the evidence by letting pieces of wet evidence come in contact with and transfer onto dry evidence. Also the bare fingers and thumb of the agent came in contact with the evidence on two occasions in about a minute and a half scene. That's about how far into that episode I watched. I have never seen another one. I'm guessing that their writers don't really give a rat's ass about anything other than their paychecks correctness. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
