  1. I wouldn't order ballistic for anything other than a student rig. I wouldn't order Aerodyne, but that's a different thread. Cordura wears just fine for normal skydiving, and I know of hard use student rigs that have been beat up for 10 years and with a good wash they look almost new. Ballistic is very stiff and probably a bit much for the average skydiver, may be harder to resell in the future as well. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  2. You'll shoot your eye out kid. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  3. FYI their KingAir takes 9 minutes from wheels up to exit at 18000ft with a full load. 7 Minutes for 150000ft. I did hundreds of jumps there and never felt or seen anything remotely resembling hypoxia during them. That's nice, however the FAR's state that it must be provided. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  4. Fastest airplane in South Florida is at Skydive Spaceland Clewiston.... :-) ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  5. What makes you think no one has? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  6. I'll second that suggestion since I've worked closely within that program for 3 years, I can tell you that it is one of THE best programs I've had the pleasure of teaching from. I'll also add, if you'd rather see sunny Florida and some of the beautiful beaches down here, the same program is available at our Florida location! :-) Skydive Spaceland Clewiston/Everglades ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  7. I'll give you another pro for the Javelin. Less flaps for the reserve pilot chute to have to clear. I believe this to be a BIG deal. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  8. Lol! Must have just re-aired. Was a lot of fun, and the Red Jacket family, and staff are some of the most Dow to earth cool people you ever want to meet. The production company and film crew were great, and Paradigm SRP http://www.paradigmsrp.com/ were the best for having Chris and I out there. Buy something from them for being so cool! They left out the tandem I did with Kris Ford. Edit: most awesome photography by Mr. Joe Jennings, one of the most FUN people to work with EVER! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  9. Seriously inappropriate comment from a mod. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  10. ***cense USPA A-license holders who have not made a freefall within 60 days should make at least one jump under the supervision of a currently rated USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating altitude awareness, freefall control on all axes, tracking, and canopy skills sufficient for safely jumping in groups. B License USPA B-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within the preceding 90 days should make at least one jump under the supervision of a USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating the ability to safely exercise the privileges of that license. C and D License USPA C and D-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within the preceding six months should make at least one jump under the supervision of a USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating the ability to safely exercise the privileges of that license. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. 11. Why can't you get the needed instruction and requirements form your local S&TA? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  12. 3 years in sport is required for a Tandem Rating. And because of the oh so wonderful quality of pilots and instructors that sort of program puts out, congress raised the minimums to be an airline pilot. Think Colgan, Asiana, etc...... Slow down and remember the rules are there to build experience and save lives. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  13. First amendment in this country provides the "right" to complain. And there's no amendment that says any of the rest of us have to listen or solve anyone else's whiney ass problems. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  14. They exist. Just remember the evil in a system is constant. And always remember: No matter how good she looks, someone somewhere is sick of her shit. And this^. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  15. Well if you're a professional and treat them like a student and customer, and not a piece of meat you just don't have that sort of problem come "up". Vote for the creepiest thread of the week anyone? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  16. Got a pencil? Problem solved. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  17. Not entirely true. They USPA did come out with the canopy progression requirements for the B license, and that's a good thing. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  18. Yes. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  19. I wouldn't call it evil, I would call it a mistake for the BOD to put a members organization, and some members in the liability path. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  20. Not one ounce of this BSR is about safety. It's 100% about liability. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  21. There is no evidence to support that this change with alter the number of fatalities. Period. None. If it were a matter of "in the best interest of the membership", then the wingloading BSR would have past years ago, or an increase in the standards of instructors, or mandatory RSL usage. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  22. Think of that coach jump as an evaluation as to whether the DZO wants to risk his entire ass letting you jump there. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  23. It exists already. It's called the "fatality reports." Some days I feel like I'm the only one who reads them. When I started skydiving 15 years ago, I sat down and read all that I could get my hands on. Similarly when I started taking flying lessons I read NTSB reports on airplane crashes. My flight instructor asked "Why?" "So I know how not to end up like them." ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  24. We created the PRO rating almost 20 years ago to stop this kind of crap, and now we let people who get their authority handed out like candy hand them out like they are candy. As an industry, what else can we expect. Someone said we need education. True, but we also need visible penalties as a deterant, but also to show the FAA and media we CAN police our own. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  25. Probably! If there were dozens, if not hundreds, of school children there. And no guns because it's a "gun free zone". Think about it. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
