  1. I know of a different manufacturer that had a similar problem but one of the things the manufcturer responded to such a video was "put the rig one someone before pulling the pin". Not a direct quote but.. Having the rig laying flat vs. on the back can make a big difference.
  2. Speaking of bugs.. When I'm using 5 hz mode I have noticed that the time sometimes rolls back. Don't know if this issue is only 5 hz or general. Time column can look lik: 10:00:05.20 10:00:05.40 10:00:04.00 10:00:04.20 Etc. As if the clock is running fast and it needs to correct itself during the logging.
  3. Have no clue, but per memory: The lines looked "used" and felt if I remeber correct. Beeing spectra lines it's hard to see or feel the difference between 200 and 600 jumps (at least for me). The canopy was used in Poland, but don't know if it had a "previous life" in the dessert. Exposed to sun? Don't know.. Water landings. No clue. The area where the canopy was used had no "obvious" water. But it could have been used to land in water elsewhere. The canopy fabric felt as it had been used, but not completly destroyed. I'd say perhaps 4-800 jumps (ish). Meaning it was not hard to pack it but it had some slippery to it still. But beeing a rental canopy, and the owner beeing very careful about his equipment. I'd say if the canopy has about 4-800 jumps as I think, it's probably the first set of lines. And pardon if I'm incorrect. But used lines usually means quicker openings? That's the best I can do, it was about two years ago since I jumped the canopy, and I only made five jumps on it.
  4. Keep in mind this is probably not a stable version as it is not on the page. It works fine on both of my FlySights, one beeing in the lower 400 serial, and one beeing in the lower 1500 (10 hz compatible). Michael sent me this file in mid june, and as I said it works on both of my FlySights. YMMV! ***Ah… I think the problem may be that you’re using the beta version from the wiki. Is that right? I’ve made some changes to the beta version to make it possible to log at 10 Hz while also playing audio, but wanted to make sure those changes were working reasonably well before updating the version on the wiki. So far, everything is looking pretty good. In the next couple of days I’m hoping to do a little more testing and then will be updating the version on the wiki. In the meantime, I’ve attached a copy of the latest working version. Note that the audio files have changed (the rate has been reduced, but you shouldn’t notice any significant change in quality), so you’ll need to copy over the new audio folder from the attachment as well. Michael ETA: I have not got the 'audible alarm' to work on either of my FlySights. Could be operator error though....
  5. As far as I know there is only one 'power track suit', and thats Pheonix fly PTS. But in the track suit segment you have different types, one piece, normal pants and jacket, winged pants, old school 'smoke pants', etc. Probably missed some. Either way, reading your post "help for new tracker", I'm not sure you should be looking for a, whatever it is, 'power' track suit. Learn to crawl first in my opinion..
  6. Both of my Stilettos opened very nicely in a short amount of time. The 150 sniveled just a bit more than the 135, but never any heart-stoppers. Who packed yours? Do not roll/push the nose, IMO. The first, have no clue. Probably a packer as the DZ was very strict with packing. They had a spy keeping an eye on me every time I packed the canopy. I did not do anything to slow down the openings. I tried to open the nose as much as possible, I even folded the slider at the front end on the last two jumps. The guy I wrote about above wanting a fix for his canopy, he also had a Stiletto.
  7. Yep. Just like seatbelts in cars, and they are made out of metal. Having a plastic buckle like that and not only relying on it not deforming when you might load it with 2 or 3 times your weight in a spinning mal but also to relsease. No thanks! However, if you are lucky the plastic might deform and make it easier to release.
  8. Hey! Do you want to be in or out?! I don't know.. But I guess there is a reason why there is no compiled version of this beta software on the site. You would have to ask Michael about that. But I guess it's because he is not sure it works on all versions of hardware the Flysight has had. I see if I can send it to you too. At work now with my phone. EDIT: nope. I thought I could forward the message but it's not an option on the forum PM.
  9. What do you mean by 'Power'? Silly me thought it was mainly skill in tracking.
  10. PD Reserve I know, that was a punch below the belt. I have heard from a follow jumper who also likes quick opening canopies that it's very hard to get the manufacturers help to speed up the opening. Their reasoning, according to him, was that this is how the canopy should open and they did not want to change it. As of his story, he was at the factory several times trying to pursuade and beg them for a fix. And on the last day of his visit one of the workers handed him a smaler slider secretly. They probably all got fed up with him Yep, below the belt for sure although I did expect someone to post that. As for a manufacturer not wanting to speed up a canopy's openings, there's a fix for that. Choose a different manufacturer or model. Not all canopies open slowly. One of the reasons I chose a Stiletto when deciding to retire from the Velo universe was the quicker openings. You chosed Stiletto for quicker openings? I rented a rig when I was visiting another DZ and it had a Stiletto in it. I was truely scared on the first jump because it opened so slow. Those 5 jumps I made with that canopy was the worst jumps for me ever. And that was only because of the slow openings.
  11. Seems to work every time, when there is no load on the buckle. So make sure the camera does not snag the lines, or if it does snag the lines make sure there is no load and it should work every time as in the video. Would be interesting to see how it works with load...

  13. I'm not sure I understand this correct, so forgive me if I got it wrong. You are saying paragliders have smaler cells on the edges and larger in the center? A BT pro also has that shape, and with a tricell (not crossbraced, straight ribs) on the first and last cells.
  14. I don't think you can buy only one. But talk to riggers, maybe they have some left from others that replaced main-bag connection. Or buy four and you have three to sell to others Just look at others bags at the packingmat and tell them the benefits of slinks.
  15. Well, wearing a bunch of aluminum foil under the jumpsuits would help. And I've never seen that high of resolution in civilian radar to read something spelled out. What the military has, I don't know. In our country, not many DZ's are in airspace that requires permission to jump. Most just give a one minute warning and the controller issues traffic advisories. The controller may advise not to drop, but can't force the pilot not to. Are the rules more rigid in Sweden? Usually a 1 or 2 minute call is enough, but or DZ is in perfect line with a international airport about 30 km away. All flights landing or starting, depending on wind, will fly above the DZ.
  16. I agree, and I would too back this if it was worldwide
  17. So what you are saying is that you *could* build a formation that spelled something to the ATC guys, or make a drawing? Like a drawing/formation of the middle finger extended to show what we really think of beeing put on hold up there.
  18. I know... Imperial units makes me cry too But it's 330.21 mph
  19. A few weeks ago we were walking out to the loading area and one of the students (also walking towards the loading area) all of the sudden started turning left, then he turned more left. And soon he was walking back towards the hangars. We stoped and asked what he was doing and he replied: "The guy in the radio is telling me to turn left."
  20. FUNNY?! Was it Funny when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??? Who bombed Pearl harbour? http://youtu.be/V8lT1o0sDwI You don't know?! I guess I missed that part in history class

  22. You secure it to the shoulders and those spinning blades above your head keeps you flying? But that will chop of at least 3 GoPros.
  23. SWS is in Ukraine, not Russia.
  24. Pulling down the slider and loosen up the cheststrap also makes toggle induced linetwists less likely. If you pull one toggle quick and hard it can result in linetwists, but because the lines and wing expands as you loosen the chestrap and pull down the slider it makes it harder.
