  1. it doesnt matter if you save it or not, today is today. what i meant is that it could be used in such a way that there is a bug. lets say you repack today, open the sheet and sees that its 26:th of june the repack date is. if you dont write this down somewhere, and just rely on the sheet. next time you open the sheet it wont say the repackdate is 26:th of june since it will use =today()+180. someone that doesnt know how the sheet works might use it the wrong way. just a heads up, no worries Paul
  2. Just to clearify. both mine and Pauls idea have a bug. if you open the spreadsheet tomorow it will say the repackdate will be one day plus. (26:th of june instead of 25:th of june) and that is because we both used the =today() function. i could make a work around for you if you need it.
  3. cellphone calendar? wouldnt that do? or is the problem to figure out what date today+180 is? use excel type =today()+180

    RSL

when you are spinning in freefall as most students do when they are on their own, they spin around them selfs. as in your case you where spinning around the canopy. look at it in this way. if you would hold a rock in your hand and spin your arm, this will make the rock you, arm is the lines and shoulder is the canopy. the rock is not spinning around its own axle. if you would cut (release the rock), the rock would not be spinning anymore since it lost its axle to spin around. so when you release the rock it will keep going straight in whatever direction you droped it. no spin. as for why your reserver had linetwist? we all know there could be other reasons than the RSL. it could be uneven packing, umm... i lost the word for it, when the cells arent filled with air. if that would happen on one side of the canopy it would probably spin. it could also be that you are correct, the RSL did something to create a linetwist. but i dont know what that could be.

    RSL

i think there is more situations where the RSL will help you than create a mal. even if you are in a spinning main-mal and get very unstable when you cut away, the RSL and reserve will deploy so quickly that you will most likely only have one or two linetwists. thats how i would think most cases would end up. but in some cases it might make things worse. entanglement shouldnt be possible, should it? if you cut away the main, it should be "gone" by the time the reserve comes out, unless you are entangled in the main that is. i think all things that are supposed to make you safer have a smal chance of working the wrong way. example: seatbelts in a car, they are supposed to help you but in some cases people have survived because they didnt wear the seatbelt. airbags: if you have your arms infront of the steeringwheel while you crash you might break your arms, which might not have happend without the arirbag. but still i think we all can agree that seatbelts and airbags is safer than not having them. i dont have any malfunction experience so i could be wrong.
  6. Makes sense....similar to Waschmachine auf Deutsch. the add is danish and says: siemens washingmashine only 4999 im not at all suprised if this add was shown on TV in denmark
  7. Well, the seller does say that this is the harness that VD wore, not the one jumped... true but how can the harness/rig get so dirty if VD only wears in during the photoshot. our DZ student rigs is not as dirty as the one he trys to sell
  8. not only is it a BASErig he uses in the stunt but also the rig has pinstripes.

  12. possible - yes dangerous - yes will you ever jump again - most likely no. i think everyone involved in such a thing would get grounded for life. atleast if i would decide.
  13. i also had the same problem as you earlier. every time i got below 100 feet my only thought was: how bad is it going to hurt this time what helped me a lot was to flare in two stages. at about 10-12 feet i pull the breaks down to head-shoulder height so the canopy will slow down a little. after that you just flare as normal at about 6 feet. i don't want you to try my advice until someone more experienced says its "ok". im just a beginner as you.
