I can never remember the exact time of it, but I know they back up the Dizzy servers sometime in the morning (may be Saturday or Sunday) that ends up being about 7-8am eastern. Usually it throws codes saying the post couldn't be posted something or another. Just seems odd that people are getting 503 codes around the same time, two days in a row. Well, that didn't take long Thanks for the 10 years man, that's a hell of an accomplishment (especially with this group!) "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

This is an interesting one. If we're required to follow the manufacturers guidance for all components installed, that very well could require people to not use Cypres loops/disks on say Vigil equipped rigs. The way it's currently worded as a recommendation/tip would be one thing, but if Airtec came out and put in the manual that their loops and disks may only be used by rigs equipped with Cypres AADs, I could see how they could enforce it if they wanted. Chances are small, but if someone goes in with no reserve out and the FAA found that they're using equipment that's not allowed, it could be an annoyance at the least for the rigger. Just be careful, they might not want to fix you if you get hurt because it wasn't 'in the line of duty'. I've never seen an issue with it, but then again we never really got hurt. If you're on jump status, you can always say you hurt yourself on a jump. I ran into my CO AT the DZ getting in the plane. Back in the old days... you were screwed royally if you damaged government equipment without permission. So I was just curious if they still required all the paperwork and permission. I was assigned to a SOF unit, the leadership had no issues with me skydiving on the weekend, so long as I wasn't beating my wife or getting a DUI. The guys I knew in the conventional side didn't seem to have issues either. The current FAA system defines the different types of parachutes as seat, back, chest and lap. They could be square or round (though I don't know of any square lap rigs). Similar situation where I was moving just after takeoff to give someone a little breathing room in the PAC-750, felt my bag fall out. Since I was doing video and right next to the door, we just kept the door closed and I took the rig off, put the bag back in the container, closed it, put it back on and then did the tandem interview. Jump was uneventful and not even a line twist on opening! _Technically_, this is correct. 1-Pilot chut 2-Main 3-Reserve 4-Reserve pilot chute. It sounds like they were given a competent explanation, but they didn't properly comprehend their notes? FIFY. You make a decent amount more if you live off base with your wife and kid as dependents. On base housing isn't always available and sometimes there's a pretty significant waiting list to move on base. Unless you're deployed under the combat zone tax exclusion, I believe your whole paycheck is taxed by the feds, state taxes for the state you claim residency in (doesn't have to be where you're stationed either), social security, tricare, etc. There are probably some other people around here that can do the math better than me, as I lived on base and was single with no dependents for my entire time in the military. I did it cause I liked the uniform... Then they changed it from BDUs to ACUs. Good thing I did 6 years active! I know MANY veterans and I don't know any of them that served for the money. Some people did take advantage of the college incentives but at the end of the day, they were putting their lives in the hands of the military and if they were doing it just for the money, they'd be crazy. Hell, how much do you think people in the military make? A butterbar with 4 years in makes

That's the truth too. It would be easier to move a mountain than to reboot one of the cores around here. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

I spent years working in a hospital before college. Then I spent years working in corporate IT, before I left it. And from what I've observed, medical people are a hell of a lot less hysterical when things go wrong, than the headless chickens in the corporate world. Interesting. Around here people act like someone is dying if this specific PC is broken... I guess maybe the medical staff understand that it's not quite that serious that they can't get to facebook for a few minutes. A lot of the pilots that I know who do acro believe they have to wear the rig... I don't argue the point with them. Of course, they don't believe that it has to be legal unless they're going to get ramped.
