  1. Don't know/recall the name; a quick look at Wikipedia notes him to be a fellow crackpot. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  2. Other Jesus preppers are using fear as a money-making opportunity: http://www.rawstory.com/2015/08/doomsday-prepper-jim-bakker-swears-youll-love-his-160-potato-soup-bucket/ "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  3. ... and the injured received medical attention under a universal healthcare system. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  4. What’s the purpose of these posts? It doesn’t start with a clear understanding of financial markets nor the oil/gas sector. ??? “Price going (insert up/down) is due to evil speculators.” Tell us about futures trades vs. OTC? (your cut/pasting makes no mention of OTC trading), crack spreads, calendar spreads? (show us why the term structure of pricing is out-of-whack; maybe a historical perspective on some pricing of butterfly or condor spreads. What’s happening now with tanker swaps? Cut/pasting from mainstream media or watching the gas price when you fill up your SUV does not provide a full understanding of the mechanics finance. 7. I lived in the US for 17yrs; how much time have you spent in Europe? I'll be the first to note that travel cost money; so it is a function of disposable income. I don't deride those that don't travel because they can't afford to. But I don't understand those who have the means yet no desire to ever see the rest of the world. Likewise, I can Google Louisiana, but you know more what living there is like than I do. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  8. So extrapolating this hillbilly method of reason, if say cholesterol and heart disease are the major killers; we should lock away all the fried chicken in a safe? "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  9. If you see another group doing something better; by all means copy them and try it yourself. It’s not all anti USA. I think both our CAA/EASA and BPA would be well served to copy your FAA and USPA respectively. I’ve travelled to over 80 countries and have lived on three continents. No, I don’t think web searches are a substitute for experiencing a different culture first hand. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  10. I’m curious as to why you are dispensing knowledge of how things work in the UK. If you want to have a good understanding of the world, you’ll need a few more stamps in your passport (something the majority of Americans do not even have). Regarding knives in the UK, here you go: It is illegal to: - sell a knife of any kind to anyone under 18 years old (16 to 18 year olds in Scotland can buy cutlery and kitchen knives) - carry a knife in public without good reason - unless it’s a knife with a folding blade 3 inches long (7.62 cm) or less, eg a Swiss Army knife - carry, buy or sell any type of banned knife - use any knife in a threatening way (even a legal knife, such as a Swiss Army knife) Lock knives (knives with blades that can be locked when unfolded) are not folding knives, and are illegal to carry in public without good reason. Of course, we don't ban anything that is sharp, but we (and all other advanced nations) find it sensible that the populace is not running around with guns. Hunting is fine; packing a semi-auto handgun to go buy ice cream; not such a good idea. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  11. This Blackmagic camera looks interesting. I remember you and Lazlo previously discussing some quirks about workflow with Blackmagic. Can the files, from this camera, simply be dumped into a Sony Vegas Pro timeline or is there something else required? "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  12. I don't understand why there is not more public backlash against this half-assed policing in the US. They just love to dress up in riot gear and get their guns out. Must have read too many superhero comics as children. Now the idiot police are complaining about being caught: http://reason.com/blog/2015/08/04/suspended-cops-say-video-of-them-eating "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

They get "touchy" about immigrants coming to take their jobs. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  15. Curious as to what "Club 33" was, I Googled it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_33 USD 27K to joining fee and 12K per year membership fees ... at Disney World?? The article also noted there is a 10yr plus waiting list. I can get you into some exclusive London clubs for far less money. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  16. As I was reading, I thought good specs, great form factor (can easily mount it via ZKulls to my TonFly CC1... http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/about_canon/newsroom?pageKeyCode=pressreldetail&docId=0901e02480fb7db6 ...until I got to the bottom and saw the price of USD 30,000. Damn. I do like the “cube” form factor though; a GoPro for grownups. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"

    #1 Movie

Mine are: Movie: The Bible: In the Beginning Song: Winchester Cathedral by The New Vaudeville Band Never heard of either; both sound like rubbish; I guess my arrival was the only good thing that happened on that day. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  18. If you don't already use it, try CCleaner https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download It's great to run everyday to clear all your cache/history and general rubbish that computers collect over time. It also has some repair tools that have been quite effective on problems I've had. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  19. My first computer was an IBM 8088, dual 5 1/4 floppy drives, 4.77 Mhz, no hard drive, running on MS DOS. I remember my copy of MS Word and all my files would all fit on a single 5 1/4 floppy. I had a university mate (US) who bought a 286, as soon as they came out, with a 20MB HD. I remember him talking about this new computer company he bought it from called PC's Limited where you could spec your own computer; he said they were going to rock (this was 1986). He was correct - it became Dell Computer. "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  20. Dentist accused of killing Cecil is not alone: Trophy hunters are mostly Americans. thank goodness someone got around to this - I was getting very disappointed in our posters 1 - he didn't use a gun, but maybe he wanted to, hard to tell 2 - perhaps they were going to sell the lion's organs to science? 3 - you just KNOW he voted for Reagan 4 - I just bet he has low power light bulbs in his house too 5 - Suspect his college girlfriend got an abortion too 6 - rumor has it that his car also runs on gasoline - which made from oil did I miss anything? Here's a website with a bunch of buffoons grinning for photo's "lookit wot I shot" [sic] www.superslam.org "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
  21. According to earlier comments this is just a case of us not knowing how police work has to be done. We couldnt possibly imagine how threatened all of these officers (many times several vs one) must have felt by allready cuffed "suspects". Police work involves human interaction - not everyone is suited for the role (It doesn’t matter if your grandfather, dad or siblings are policemen also; or if this is one of few good-paying jobs in your area). Many US policemen are quite ill suited to the role. I’d suggest more time on human interaction and crowd psychology than time spent at the shooting range. If it’s all about dispensing some “whoop ass”, find another job or outlet; there is no place for this type of behaviour in dealing with the public. 22. Agreed. This is pretty fucked up. These types with their "grand slam" bullshit of killing one every type of species?? The North American grand slam includes two species of walrus. WTF, what skill/sport is shooting a walrus with a rifle? I've spent a lot of time in southern Africa and out in the bush (photos not hunting); I'm astounded at some of the stories guides have told me of American hunters on a trip with a "checklist" to kill and how they go about it. 23. Here's an article with several videos of the police "helping" people: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/police-brutality-reports_55b65b79e4b0074ba5a53417 "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
