I got pierced with a 10ga. captive bead ring. (like the one turtle posted) My piercer said he liked to use larger guages because of the "cheese slicer" effect. that was enough for me, 10 it is. First, diablopilot is right (that has to be a record for a thread JP) I wantede to highlight two things you said in your original post Sell your F-111 170 now. When it is time to jump again, jump some student/rental that is a little larger, chances are you will want to favor your "good" leg and you could injure it in the process. After several jumps on that call pd, aerodyne, icarus, and any others about demo's. Theoretically you could demo zp 170's for a couple months. Then decide which one you like, or then start demoing zp 150's from everyone also. In the meantime you saved money by not buying something you aren't happy with.

I agree with Eric. Down here in Central TX, there used to be a ton od cobalts, If you go to san diego, you will probably see a ton of Icarus mains. In areas with strong dealer support, like the ranch with big air, you will see a lot of those canopies. PD also travels all over with their demo program putting more canopies into more hands than anyone else. I guess one answer would be, "Good Marketing of a great product"
