  1. Because they are an extreme right wing party (tea party .. give me a break) They love the haves and hates the have nots. I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  2. Even in Australia we get fox news. I cannot wait to get home and see the look on HANITYS FACE. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT fOX NEWS was a parody when I first watched it (fair and balanced like your kidding) But its not a parody.. call it for what it is THE GOP CHANNEL I am glad my favorite second country whom I love to visit will be in OBAMAs hand for 4 more years. Maybe the country that I saw growing up (who put a man on the moon etc) can return to its former glory. I hope so.. I mean you invented skyhooks and the 3 ring cutaway . I look forward to watching your progress and visiting again. !! Who knows you might even be able to achieve Universal health care for every one. Something most of the first world has done for years. (over 30 years in Australia and the sky has not fallen in !!) I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  3. would have to think the confirmed saves far outway the potential risk.. I think you just answered your own question. I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  4. Alright, hands up if you didn't have friends to begin with . . . *waves hand* plus 1 I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  5. I agree with squeak re perceived risk... but there is risk and there is no getting around that. Like others have said you can do everything right and still die. ie canopy collision which is not your fault The plane can crash Some one tampers with your rig (it happened in London causing double mal) Freefall collision that is not your fault. RISK REWARD only you can decide if its worth it for you. I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  6. I was 22 when i did the FJC static line at Pakenham in Victoria Australia in 1981.(Commando Skydivers) I turned up did the course and then told my parents on the Sunday night after the 1st jump. I coped heaps of Mum but Dad was OK about it. I am now 54 and returned briefly to jumping form age 50 to 53 (19 tandems and 5 AFFs).. . This time I made full disclosure to parents and even took them to the DZ at Nagambie. (which they enjoyed) Invite your parents to come along they mights just feel better about it. (hopefully) I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  7. About average or a bit below in jumping lobut sucked out loud at forming relationships and fitting in at the DZ !! (I wish I had kept my mouth shout !) (my fault) agree with above jumper The older I get,the more I sucked or suck !! . I am sure SQUEAK will agree with my self assessment. I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  8. only once due to weather. A great Instructor in Australia (the legendary John SWANLAND) taught me once you boarded the plane the decision had already been made to jump. so just concentrate on making it good. Only done 45 solos jumps (which is bugger all I know) but that advice never left me Who has not thought at some time " WTF am I doing up here " just before exit (I certainly have but SWANLANDS advice always came to the fore. I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  9. BRILLANTLY DONE made my day !! I now know a sure fire way cause nothing as worked so far and at 53 I need to get one in a row. I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  10. well done !! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  11. Welcome to this great pursuit Hope you have lots of fun I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  12. I did the AFF at 52 no problems. Broken shoulder blades in the past prob do not help. Just practice your arch. Once you get qualified most experienced jumpers (I am not) do not even arch they just frog as they have learned to balance with experience (without a hard arch) Lots of jumpers in their 50s Good luck I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  13. Good come back oldwoman6. (LOL) I would not dare comment on this thread topic. I got called sexist on the Aussie forum for saying woman should be careful of the boys culture in a male dominated sport. when can I come BACK to Naggas Don ?? I miss you and your crew !! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  14. Whats the hurry ? do some more tandems. I did 18 tandems before AFF. No rush !! (bit costly buts its only money) I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  15. As they should, because they have the vast majority of the nation's wealth. Top 10 per cent owe 90 per cent of the wealth. You cannot tell that is right and to cut there taxes even more. OBAMA wins easily !! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  16. Well said ..... I was "in the job' for over 11 years. In those years I obviously worked with 100s of Police officers. 98 per cent were good decent people. 2 per cent were arseholes but you get that every where.(except Dzs LOL)(most of those 2 per cent did not last long) Squeak will not agree but most join for the right reasons. Why did i leave ? Its such a high pressure job I found 11 years enough (its not like you see on TV) Now do security for the Police and govt buildings. There is now more accountability than ever before with camersa etc. Even tasers have a camera that records as soon as drawn from the holster. I always found most people supported the cops until it affected them ie ticket for speeding etc. Then you were an arswhole for doing your job (or ass whole in USA speak) Believe it or not plenty of skydivers are in the job I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  17. Difficult question. I am married to a whuffo wife. I waited until the kids got to 17 to jump again. Wife lived with the decision and came to the DZ a few times. Other factors intervened so now retired. Do not die wondering . (my brief jump carear was the best of times) Just wait awhile The DZs will be there when your relationship can stand it. VP wins

The Vice Pres easily won the debate. The other bloke is a stooge for big business and the wealthy. No contest !! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??

  20. Great news KISS MOTLEY CRUE coming to Australia in march 2013. Its time to break out the make up and the hearing protection. My BOYS (and they are my boys kiss) are coming back. (I have issues I know) Any reviews from you USA folks on the shows in the USA This is the most exciing news since Don got Sigma Rigs (with skyhooks) at Naggas. (Joke Don) I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  21. My advice do not get involved on here. My career got trashed by talking on forums.(Banned from a DZ) Always got on well face to face.. but here on the net one can say things ih the heat of the moment (or type in the heat of the moment) that you regret later on. Never type on forums when you are angry its just not worth it I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  22. I will join the spirit I will giveaway 10 free copies of my book " How to succeed in skydiving" by gregpso aka greg demon in Australia) However the book lasts one paragraph ! I could write a book "how to completely stuff up a skydiving career and upset people you like and care about " I am an expert on that.(unfortuneatly) This has been an attempt at humor (however its not funny) I miss you all !! (Don Louise Wokka Tim Patrik Johno etc at nagambie) [email protected] I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  23. Watching the debates here in Australia (and let me add I love the USA and its people and love travelling there). .. Romney is a stooge for big business. Case in point he actually believes that the private health Insurance companies can run health care better than the government. Private health Insurances companies are there to make money period.. that is why they will not insure sick people. Thet exist to make money. A government health scheme exists only to help sick people. In Australia we have had Universal free health cover for over 35 years. My sister last week (who has no Private Health insurance) had complications from an operation. Was in Intensive care for 6 days and will be in hospital for 5 weeks under the care of a top Specialist. (whom also works privately as well) The cost to her of all this I hear you ask .. $20 000 ?? Actually ZERO NOTHING !! all covered by our universal health system. if we can do it why can"t you.. I mean give me strength !! A country that can put a man on the bloody moon cannot provide health care for all it's folks. 24. Enjoy it mate. fun times ahead for you !! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
