  1. A few of you know me as the bloke who tried to apologise to Nagambie in Australia to no avail. One of the reasons my career was trashed was because i said (on Australian forum) "Woman will always be welcomed into the sport with open arms and legs" Before you launch abuse please read below !! I meant after reading the womens forum here that woman have to be careful entering a bloke dominated sport .. indeed one female post said the attention you will receive will be a heady thing! So I meant for the new woman to be careful about the swarm of blokes (men) espically after the jumps have finished and the beer flows. I used a poor choice of words but being a Kiss fan and hearing Gene say a million times we are always welcomed with open arms and legs !! I did not realise the vemon that saying has with many females (but I should have ) Anyway a few have emailed asking why my career was trashed well it was promoting and asking too many quesations about skyhooks AND THAT statement that finished me off. I got accussed of having old school attitudes to woman and saying hurtful stuff about woman which was NOT my intention. ANYWAY SKYDIVING CAREER trashed. (man I wish I never typed that !!) I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  2. Aussie dollar now nearly $1.06 great for internet shopping and travelling. Now I am grounded from jumping in Aus) Makes US porn dvds cheap too (only joking Golden brown I do not have olsd school attitused to woman) I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??

  4. 30 !!! I have got underpants older than that!!! Go for it I vote for you to drop.. at least try it once !! I made a brief return to jumping at 51 !! Go for it girl !!Quote I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  5. Here jumps a dickhead who ruined his jumping career at Nagambie (australia) !!!! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  6. ICE> Man Card; Hand it over. ICE> Yes but us blokes cannot help noticing how good most of the female figures are. I wish I could have stomach muscles like most of them have. But I watch for the sport and cheer the Aussie on.. not for the perve. the good looking bodies are just a bonus as I am sure the male bodies are for the ladies. But then again Golden Brown on SkySurfer.com.au thinks I have an old school attitude to woman... I do not !!! (the most hurtful thing someone has ever accused me off) I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  7. Well done that man !!! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  8. I have only done 66 jumps but the feeling you felt is normal. Maybe do one more tandem and then go solo. You will not regret it. Great fun controlling your own canopy and landing and if you do as instructed its not that hard. have fun and enjoy !! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  9. There are so many ways to bounce in this sport that most starting out do not think off. its amazing the fatality rate is so low !! Pilot diving and hitting you in freefall ... You pay a senior packer to pack a reserve but they mis route the aad cutter. Your on a student landing and some idiot hot shot crashes into you.. etc etc. When I first started I thought what if the canopy does not open ? (and that was the only way you could go in) I did not believe some one who told me a few years ago greg you can do everything right and still die.... I get it now ! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  10. Bloody hell the British are beating us Aussies in the Olympics. This calls for a Royal Commission !!! POMS beating Aussies (Damm) (only joking to our british friends) Wait unitl the ashes series next year I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??

  14. Welcome Ryan enjoy your AFF. keep us posted on your progress. You obviously enjoyed your tandems.. but then I have yet to meet or talk to any one who did not. I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??

  17. If you loved tandem (and you did) wait for AFF. I loved the feeling of steering and landing by myself (although talked thru over radio) A grand adventure awaits.. enjoy !!! I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  18. join skysurfer.com.au look at posts from gregdemon there you will read some dumb post from a bloke(aussie slang for a man) who started off trying to be a bit entertaining but ended up self destructing and ruining a relationship with people (Don louise and crew) whom I really liked and respected (still do !!) or in simple language a true dickhead and fuckstik in action (me) I have met some jumpers on the forum who said to me "they were surprised what I was like in real life not at all like the horrible gregdemon." In reality I have no wish to offend anyone (I would rather be friends) but I sure did offend to the max.... and for that I will apologise again. and again if you wish. A lesson in what not to do !! Bit strong "every skydiver in Australia" as the aussie forum really has only about 30 or so regular contributors but of course.. word gets around. I did have some tell me I was entertaining for a while. but where did that get me.. nowhere !! I suppose no chance of bygones being bygones (I didn"t think so) I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  19. So with correspondence like that from the" father of skydiving " I became so obsessed (with skyhooks) I trashed my relationship with an outstanding CI and crew at Naggas My fault Not justifying.. just explaining the beginning of the end of me at Nagambie Skydive in Australia. as a few have emailed me with why... now you know !! just noting Strong are developing or developed the "sky anchor" I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  20. more files from the gregpso tapes Quote Gregpso; First, I'm glad he knows what happened in the North Carolina tandem accident, because I don't, and I personally investigated it. What I know for sure is that the TM went low and the AAD fired while his main was deploying. I'm not sure that the Skyhook was even hooked up because the red Skyhook lanyard was MISSING. What your friend is talking about is the Collins' Lanyard, not the Skyhook itself. The Collins' Lanyard connects the right (RSL side) riser to the cutaway cable of the left riser, so that if the right (RSL) riser goes first for any reason, the reserve container will not be opened without the left (non-RSL) riser also being released. This is to prevent a the deploying reserve from entangling with the still attached (by the left riser) main canopy. I developed the Collins' Lanyard in response to fatalities caused by such one-sided releases. Very few people argue that "standard" RSL's don't save lives, but this one-side release problem is a major design flaw and the resason that I don't sell them without the Collins' Lanyard. The Skyhook is an entirely different system. In the North Carolina accident, it is possible that the TM accidentally snagged the Collins' Lanyard while trying to reel in the trailing reserve pilot chute, but the cutaway handle was also pulled. This could have also happened in the confusion resulting from the potential two-out situation. So the first "cause" was the TM going low. The second "cause" was the AAD firing. (No AAD, no accident. Does this make AAD's unsafe?) The third "cause" may or may not have been the Collins's Lanyard. Hardly an inditement of the Skyhook. As to whether Skyhooks save lives: I developed the Skyhook in direct response to two tandem fatalities cause by the tandem pair tumbling through the deploying reserve lines after cutting away. By getting the reserve to line stretch in 1/2 a second, the Skyhook prevents this. I have talked to several TM's who have made cutaways with and without the Skyhook who tell me that they would give up tandem jumping if the Skyhook were removed. In other words, there have been many instances where people have died, that the Skyhook probably would have saved them. All of my inventions have been in response to jumper being injured or killed because of then existing technology. While it is easy to prove that someone is dead, it is much harder to prove that someone was saved. However, we get emails all the time from people who thank us for saving their lives with the Skyhook. Some of these are posted on our web site. As to only people who do stupid things needing Skyhooks, the same could be said for AAD's, and who would argue that AAD's don't save lives? Jumpers who have been around for a long time very often reject new technology because that are used to what they have been jumping their whole lives. The resistance to piggyback containers, and square parachutes, especially as reserves, was fierce. So was the resistance to hand deployed pilot chutes and the 3-ring release. And some people actually called Ted Strong and me MURDERERS for developing tandem jumping. By the way, the Skyhook has had FAR FEWER PROBLEMS than the piggyback, the square parachute, the hand deployed main pilot chute, the 3-ring, or tandem jumping, and resistance to it is getting less every day. 21. Yeas I know just showing what got me started on the skyhooks thing that led to my downfall. amongst other things. More files from the Greg PSO files coming I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  22. Message I got from Bill Booth (since my skydive career was trashed at Naggas) by my support for skyhooks (among other things and stupidity on my part) thought it was worth sharing with you Quote Gregpso: I'm amazed that this attitude exists in Australia, although the same thing happened when I introduced the hand deployed pilot chute and the 3 ring release. The Skyhook has been out for ten years, and is installed on over 15,000 rigs (Vector,Javelin, and Icon). In that time millions of jumps have been made on skyhook equipped rigs. Right now, over 80% of our customers order Skyhooks. It is required on all student and tandem rigs. Every gear manufacturer in the world is already using the Skyhook or desperately trying to come up with something like it. The people who dislike the Skyhook are probably still jumping single sided RSL's, which have killed lots of jumpers. Please read the comment pages on our website to see how many people believe the Skyhook has saved their life. My GM, Mark Procos will be traveling to Australia later this year to try and figure out where this attitude came from. In the meantime, thanks for asking the right questions. You will get the last laugh. Bill Booth Re me getting the last laugh I doubt it I should have kept my mouth shut but there you have it. Cheers Greg W I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  23. Only once in 66 jumps did I think (on a AFF) here I am at 5000 feet hanging by only lines and nylon WTF !! people who have not skdived just do not realise a no vertigo !! b no sense of invasion of personal space (on a tandem) I mean one could think here I am strapped to another man in a slightly suss position. "just lower yourself onto my lap greg " (WTF) c even the constant passing of gas before jump time is a bit different. BUT for some reason none of that matters in the air !! c just cause you skydive does not mean you are not afraid of heights for some reason its just different up there and under canopy. WHUFFOS think you are either very brave or very stupid. I am neither.. well not brave anyway !! Like you if some one had said you will do 66 jumps (and I know thats not many for most of you) I would have thought they were crazy. Some folk at work think I am a skygod cause done 66 jumps .... litle do they realise i am just a silly bald 53 year old wannabee... ask squeak he will tell you. I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
  24. OK I am letting it be. It should be noted I was informed of the AFF ban via email not face to face. I then turned up for 2 more tandems a few weeks later (around 12 months ago). I said hello to the CI and shook his hand but was quickly fobbed off. On weather hold so had another attempt to approach him but he saw me coming and walked off. NO I WAS NOT SEEING SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT THERE ... I can read body language pretty well (training from job I do) and I realised he was not interested in talking. Then Mitch crew gave me an absolute filthy look in the plane so I caught on that I was finished there. So for the first time ever after the 2 dooms I walked out.... every visit before that I always went and seeked him out and thanked him and his wife for having me for the day (19 tandems) So no point in turning up in person. I tried this apology online in one vain last hope that it might work... it did not !! I have tried nothing more can be done His drop zone his choice of course I wish Don and his wife Louise and all the crew at naggas nothing but the best !!!! Thank god for Ralph and Bridgy Greg W [email protected] I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
