  1. Here's what I look for with regard to a Freefly Ready Rig: 1.) Tuck Tabs on Riser Covers. 2.) Secondary Riser Covers along side the Reserve Pack Tray. 3.) No more than 3-5 inches of exposed Risers from the rings to the tuck tabs on shoulders. 3.) A Reserve flap with side tuck tabs, and tuck tab at the bottom that inserts into the rig. 4.) A Main PIN flap that either folds up into the rig, or has long stiffeners that fold up under the closing flaps on the main pack tray. 5.) A fully seated Pop Top (Reserve Pilot Chute), with some type of Reserve PIN Flap over the POP top. 6.) A tight Main Pack Tray. 7.) A tight Reserve Pack Tray. 8.) A tight Main Closing Loop. 9.) A tight chest strap that stays tight during opening. 10.) Tight leg straps that stay tight during opening. 11.) BOC or PUD deployment system. 12.) NO Exposed Bridle, not even an inch. 13.) Tight BOC Pouch ( No worn out Spandex or elastic. 14.) I personally HATE D-Rings, so Pillow Cut Away and Reserve handles. 15.) If you must have D-Rings then they MUST be low profile. 16.) Some type of AAD, especially if Freeflying with low timers or on Advanced Big Ways. 17.) No Velcro anywhere. Thats my list of what I look for in a Freefly Friendly Rig.
  2. USA-2 = Selwyn Facey, Derek Cox, and Chris Dixon. (Paraclete XP). Definately not Anomoly.
  3. I agree.........The Discipline is very hard, but I hope it continues to grow. Not that I wanted Arsenal to lose, but its good for them to lose here and there. That just confirms that the discipline is growing, and that other teams are getting better and better. No one wants to see competitions where only two teams can win. It gives hope to the rest of us that with hard work and determination, you can get there. And perhaps sponsorships.
  4. I'm betting there will be a strong turnout this year.
  5. Yeah how is it that BodyFlight Moscow can continually advertise??? And Teams organizing Events cant post thier event details without that being considered advertising. BodyFlight Moscow is Blatently Advertising and it's ok. Weak.
  6. Yeah..........It's a pretty weak website.
  7. Wow what an uneducated, total lack of research that this City Council performed before coming to these conclusions about noise and vibration. If this is a SkyVenture recirculating tunnel being proposed? If so.......then they need to visit a new existing facility. You can stand in the Paraclete XP parking lot and have to pay attention to notice it's operating. And there is no vibration. The Land Owner should also do a better job providing information, and perhaps bring in SkyVenture for assistance.
  8. Scott, I'll see you there. It's been a long time buddy.
  9. Ok I understand.................Just send the Strippers then
  10. Damn.........Another One. Sad Week for sure. RIP G.
  11. Can you send an Otter to pick us up???
  12. I'd recommend reaching out to some of your Areas established Freeflyers and make certain they are going to back your event. If you have a group with the skills to do this, who will commit to the event, then arrange to bring in a good organizer, who has put together Big Ways before. Also check with Bobby Page to see what the unofficial record is. Just because no one has claimed a record, 8-ways may have been done many times in VA. I'd shoot for something the same size or bigger, it could end up needing to be a 10 or 12 way.
  13. Rook...........You are as always a stand up Gentleman. Thanks for taking care of that.
  14. Memorial service for Pete Luter will be in Roanoke Rapids, NC on Wednesday, March 24th at 2 PM - at Calvary Baptist Church - 1405 Bolling Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC at the intersection of Bolling Rd and Maple St. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&source=hp&ie=UTF8&q=roanoke+rapids+nc&fb=1&gl=us&ei=7QWpS5rYIorqygSJj8jwCg&ved=0CBUQpQY&view=map&geocode=FeRbLAIdfhdf-w&split=0&iwloc=A&sa=X
  15. No nothing official yet. I will Post as soon as I know, or better yet as soon as anyone know's please post the dates. I think the thought was next weekend in Roanoke Rapids, but Pete's Family is working on those details.
  16. We lost another GREAT ONE today. Pete Luder was the Coolest MF, I've ever met in this sport. A Long time Carolina jumper, we lost him at Z-Hills today. My Heart is Heavy, but I'm almost immediately at peace with his passing. The man truely died doing what he loved, Had No Regrets in Life, and did absolutely EVERYTHING he ever wanted to do. Plus he was the most Laid Back, Smooth, Toe Ring Wearin, Safety Meeting Enjoying, Enjoying Great Vodka, Enjoying Great Wine, Enjoying Great Moonshine, Seeing the World Dude I've ever met. Pete................Thanks for the Late Nights, Early Mornings, Electric Stars, Magic Shows, and Fine Weed. And thanks for your Frienship. BSBD Pete Luder
  17. Weather Happens, Last Minute Changes Happen, Jump Limits get enforced. Ultimately its the individual who decides if the condions are appropriate for their skill level. You could have driven over to the beach to evaluate the landing conditions yourself. Why are you putting the responisbilitiy for your own decisions off on someone else? Event Organizers organize EVENTS not the WEATHER. How many events have YOU organized??? You would not be giving so much grief if you've ever tried yourself. Sounds like you expect perfection and no complications to arrise at an event for you or your girlfriend to be able to enjoy yourselves. Sounds Like you and your girlfriend may not be cut out for Boogies. Damn you were in Puerto Rico man. If the Boogie wasn't working out for you then go site seeing or something. There's much more to do in this beautiful place than jumping. The best can make Chicken Salad out of Chicken Shit.
  18. I'd like to see a new thread on these "Mag Bags", you are talking about. With Pictures
  19. My thoughts are with Nick's Family, Friends, and Team Mate (Friend and Family). Very Sad.
  20. Well a Year and a Half later, after you all provided all these great replys and posted all these great pictures and I never, got one. I'm ready to make the transition now though. Any updated thoughts or are Joe Bennet, Mel and Paraconcepts still the best options. Any new designs anyone is aware of?
  21. Speaking of Grommet Size............how about material. I'm hearing from some folks with RDS systems at my DZ, complaining about the stainless steel grommets. Apparently their weight is knocking out their toggles on deployement. Is anyone else experiencing this? Are there any other materials that are being used?
  22. This is the best paragraph written in this entire thread. So True.
  23. I feel they are all elements of HD Flying. I wouldn't call someone who can only fly static, but cant carve or stall a proficient HD flyer in the tunnel. I think its all important, and is all considered HD.
  24. Ahhh It's Offical per the Events Calendar. 2010-03-27 to 2010-03-28 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/calendar/page.cgi?g=Detailed/4026.html;d=1 I think the Organizer will be Selwyn Facey, James Flaherty (Punisher), or both. Both were at the 108 Way Record and both are very good Tunnel Coaches as well. Should be a GREAT opportunity to learn.
  25. Then your DZ stole one of my favorite's. But I won't hold it against you.
