Im scared to date anyone from the dz cause of all these horror stories. So whenever a guy starts to show interest in me I just automatically shut it out. Last thing I want to be is the football.

YES! I was in the process of buying my first rig over the summer and came across a great "deal". Something seemed a bit odd though, so I asked some friends about it and they told me to get serials and call the manufacturers. Turns out the colors the manufacturer told me didnt match the ones in the pictures and when i called Cypres, they told me the number isnt even enough digits long! So I called out the scammer and reported him. Good thing I checked the serials!!

When I snapped my hand on the windsock, I just told them that I hit my hand on a pole and left out the skydiving part. They asked how and I said I was clumsy. They werent too persistent about it but I knew they knew there was more to the story.

I lived in Corona for about 20 years and just moved to Irvine. As with any county, there are good cities and bad cities. Corona is about 15 min north of the Elsinore dz and 1/2 hour away from Perris Valley. Its growing extremely rapidly and starting to look almost like Orange County now. New track homes are popping up starting at like the 400s-500s. As far as schools go, the Corona/Norco district is pretty decent. If you want a city with an ultra low crime rate tho, Irvine is a good bet (its where I live right now). There is so little crime that the cops have nothing to do. I leave my car door unlocked every night and never have to worry about something going missing. Also you mentioned clean air.... Having lived in Riverside county for so long, I developed an enviornment-enduced case of asthma when I was in high school. I had to use an inhalor. When I started living in Orange County, however, that all went away. The air is definately cleaner out here. Anyways, thats just my opinion of everything. IE is ok but I like OC better

Was it just me or was anyone else kinda when that skydiver passed the tandem as they were deploying? He looked to be about 30 linear feet away. And in a 250mph head down track that just sounds a teensy bit dangerous to me. Had I been the tandem, I wouldve shat myself.

That was my first thought when I started reading the article.

All the larger DZ's (and even small dzs) I jumped at used GPS to spot. Thats not to say that youll get a good spot, jumping out last. At Perris Ive gotten bad spots as the last jumper but was still able to get back without probs. Dunno how Deland is tho.

Make sure you communicate with as many people on the load as possible and know what the upper winds are doing. Freaky feeling when youre not even at break off and youre already seeing canopies open a little too close for comfort. Had to dump early a couple times because of that.

This is a great little place to jump. They have a great friendly vibe and treat you like family and are very good when it comes to safety. The only negative thing I can say is that they only go to 10k ;-P
