  1. quade what is your point? i understand what you are saying but what relevance is it to anything? the truth is you have no idea how hard these rich people work or have work in the past. if they worked 23 hour days for ten years would it be ok for them to be rich in your eyes? please give a workable alternative to the free market because thats basically what you are arguing against by saying a persons work is worth more then the free market is willing to pay for it
  2. how much wealth they personally own is only relevant when you compare it to how much wealth they generate for the economy, come back when you find that out and then tell me if you still think its good to cut the legs out from underneath of the business leaders in your country
  3. ok rhys this is nothing personal BUT you are wrong in almost every conclusion you reach 1. the force that starts the collapse is not necessarily the force of one floor falling on the next as there were a number of variables, namely a plane hitting the building and causing widespread damage and fire. it is more than likely that supports failed somewhere beneath the top floor causing all floors above to fall at once not just one floor to fall 2. freefall speed. something can constantly accelerate without being in freefall. as one floor falls onto the next the force on the next floor is increased. this would lead to the faster collapse of the next floor which would in turn add to the mass of the materials hitting the next floor and so on a so forth causing the speed of collapse to accelerate until there are no more floors to collapse. im having a hard time believing that the terminal velocity of thousands of tonnes of concrete would be anywhere near reached with a height of 1300feet 3. path of least resistance. a big square of concrete falling onto another big square of concrete it is parallel to will not fall to one side or the other it will just fall onto the big square of concrete and stay there. a simple way to demostrate this would be to drop a square tile onto another square tile and observe the result. there was a fourth thing i disagreed with you on but i cant remember it right now
  4. Guaranteed? The red regimes in the USSR, China, prove otherwise. being an atheist and killing someone isnt the same as killing in the name of atheism so you are woefully misinformed and 100% wrong im afraid also, it is quite clear that people with mental disorders above a certain threshhold should not be allowed have guns, is ptsd serious enough to warrant the removal of the right? i would say it can be but not every case
  5. moi? educate myself? hi my name is kettle, you must be pot. just to be clear, so i know exactly what your saying. you believe that the only athletes in the sporting world that can run farther than a wide receiver or a tight end in one burst/go/attempt are marathon runners? do you understand the terms aerobic fitness and anarobic fitness? do you understand the difference between the two and how, in general, an improvement in one is to the detrement of the other? do you understand that sprinting, ducking and diving around defenders etc is an anarobic activity wereas running for more than 90 seconds is aerobic? because if you dont, and it dosnt appear as if you do, then im not the one who needs an edumacation
  6. this just makes you look foolish to be honest if american football is YOUR favourite sport thats totally fine but your jsut making stuff up and passing them off as facts.
  7. american football isnt the most watched sport in the world, the superbowl is the most watched event in the world, there is a big difference. show me the world wide ratings of the jets game in week6 and ill show you higher ratings from a multitude of sports that week or any other week of the regular season. ill even probably do it without using soccer which i happen to hate with a passion wow, if you want traditional anything i suggest you start in europe dude, you know, were history comes from.
  8. whats the weather like on your planet? you want brutal, in ireland we have a national sport called hurling, id put a hurling team up against your american football teams any day of the week and id have a hard time choosing between a hurling team and a rugby team but the rugby guys would probably ease ahead due to sheer bulk rather then toughness bulk
  9. if there is one thing id rather do then watch an average match of either of the sports its crw, it would be a tough call though between crw and ireland v england in the world cup final
  10. am i wrong in thinking that the salmonella isnt actually IN the eggs at all but on the outside of the shells and even if your egg is contaminated if you take a few basic precautions you are still at no risk? or is it actually inside the egg?
  11. +1 modern rugby has rules in place to prevent the more serious injuries like not being able to take someone out in the air or if you take them up in the air in a tackle you ahve to bring them back down you cant just drop them upside down. another one is if the doctor says you suffered concussion you must leave the game and i think you have to sit out 4 weeks. people still break necks and backs in the scrum though in the lower leagues due bad technique. i am from a rugby country and have seen one american football game live but have followed the playoffs for the last number of years. they are both physical games and you can get seriously injured in either i just think that if it was a bar fight between the irish rugby team and say the patriots starting offense or defence team id be glad i was on the irish teams side
  12. imaybe if your team concentrated on playing instead of getting their dicks out in the dressing room you might have had more success :p one year away and we will be in new zealand taking that crown away form ya ;)
  13. Ever watch Dhani Jones Tackles the Globe? He is a Linebacker for the Bengals. He goes around and world and plays different sports. One episode he played Rugby with some team in the UK. I cant remember the name of the team, but seemed like they were the real deal. He didnt do to bad at all. At really put some good hits on those guys. They are both great sports, with a lot in common actually, but i promise you that an NFL receiver crossing the middle and getting creamed head on by a linebacker or safety running full speed is a lot harder of a hit then most in rugby. Not all, but most. There is a reason they wear pads and helmets in the NFL....and no it isn't because they are pussies. gotta agree even though i love rugby but there is a pretty straightforward reason for it that linebackers entire reason for existing is to hit players and the harder the better. he dosnt have to train to be fast so he can score touchdowns or practice kicking. everything he does he does so he can hit hard. everything the wide receiver does he does so he can sprint and catch and i guess to some extent to take a hit in rugby the players dont have the luxury to train for such specific roles. if a forward gets the ball and breaks the gain line he has to have the stamina to sprint the length of the pitch and score the try. then on the very next play he might have to take down a 6'7 250lb guy who is running full belt at him. the scrum half can get concussion on minute 79 and be expected to kick a penalty from half way line to win the game on minute 80 american football players are hard as nails and in some individual positions they will be bigger tougher and harder hitting then your average rugby player but if you average it all out on the team as a hole the rugby team will have bigger stronger and fitter players because they all have to be american football players dont all have to be also i think there is more passion and loyalty in rugby players for two reasons 1) its nowhere near as commercialised as the nfl and there is nowhere near as much money in it 2) the top level competition is international level not one domestic league. players dont get paid to play for their country, they do it for pride and glory and this shows and the fans react to it. one of my greatest rugby moments was seeing my heroes line up for the national anthem in croke park(a massive stadium in ireland which has a lot of history relating to the british and the troubles) with the english team lined up on the other side for the first ever rugby game there. the entire team was in tears they were so overcome with pride during the national anthem and then we go onto to destroy the english in the game it was a magical moment and i dont think you get that in a sport that is as commercialised and domestic as american football. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cX4ka-5j2vU
  14. ah the ole 'im too much of a poof to play so ill call them gay' cop out i like american football alot and recently saw my first live game in giants stadium was a great experience but rugby is the best sport in the world, even the local league games were i live back home have such a great atmosphere and energy, cant beat it edit; also it helps when your country is one of the best teams in the world at the moment
  15. looks nice but takes too long to load(probably cause its flash) people wont wait more than 2 secs for a page to load
  16. my fastest was yesterday 4/5minute tandem fastest iv seen was a 3 minute on a small velo but its pretty easy to be fast on those iv heard of a 13 yr old russian girl who a few of the lads met when they were over there jumping who could do 3minute pack jobs no matter what
  17. you dont have to do anything you dont want to do nice video though id love to see his latest stuff if anyone has some videos from this year throw them up
  18. as far as i was aware a licenced skydiver can do whatever the hell they want to their main parachute and still be legal to jump out of a plane as long as their reserve and container has been packed and inspected by a rigger, by the looks of that paragraph though i was wrong i have done assembly work for mains for myself and a few friends but they always always end up being inspected by a rigger as i am not one yet, or even that close really. having said that there are people out there with no ticket who i would trust more then some riggers iv met op why dont you speak to your rigger tell them how interested you are and im pretty sure they will let you observe and participate in the entire assembly process from container to reserve to main and if they dont, find a new rigger who will
  19. you understand wrong progression is generally 7 aff levels jumping from 13,000 or there abouts with 2 instructors for the first 3 and 1 instructor for the rest(if you pass them all first time). you would be deploying at around 5,500 after around 40 secs of freefall then you are cleared for solos were you need to do a certain number of coach jumps and a 5,500 hop and pop and a 3,500 hop and pop and pack your own parachute as part of the requirements to get your a licence
  20. Exactly right. Apple and MPEG is a bullshit combination. There is simply no other way to say it. so any ideas on how much of a performance loss there would be? 10% /20% or something way more dramatic like 50% or more? eventually i would just do a dedicated pc build for vegas but if i could edit render and burn on the imac in 15 mins i would do that in the mean time
  21. hey dse ill be buying the new 27inch imac and getting the upgraded processor and ram in the next few weeks i am getting this because i like macs, my college uses mainly fcp on its regular machines so its good for compatibiliy BUT next summer ill be finished college and will be back in the states and will probably have tandem / general skydive footage to edit have you done any benchmark testing on using vegas threw parellels or booting into windows at start up on a mac? im hoping that with a 2.8/2.9 quad core and 8gb of ram that the rendering times will be acceptable when using windows on the mac
  22. test the validity of what? my opinion? i dont know the 4 whatever of substance abuse im sure a google would find them easily enough your professional opinion is one thing but it is only based on the people you see professionally, who naturally enough, are the ones with a problem. my personal opinion is based on having lost close family members to drugs and seeing close friends use them with no problems and seeing close friends use them with problems can you show me any factual evidence that shows the majority of people who recreationally use drugs suffer negative life affecting side affects imho, the people who have problems with these substances will have problems with them and access to them weather or not they are legal
  23. no they arent they are the vast majority. the vast majority of users of the drugs that are considered for legality live full and productive lives using the drugs as recreation with no adverse affects on their lives what a load of crap having a few drinks is not irresponsible or indicate any sort of denial or otherwise in the person so?
  24. When the Scottish leadership released the terrorist responsible for killing all our citizens in the Lockerbie bombing, they effectively told all of America to "fuck off". Scotland can now kiss my ass. And I used to like 'em... from my very drief reading of what has happened it does appear to have been the wrong decision but its not always all about you guys, grow up. haha typical pot...meet kettle
  25. invade the countries obviously and destroy them that's a bit harsh, maybe just tasering them gotta taze someone you can tase ireland cause obama thinks its a tax haven when it clearly isnt but you might aswell nuke the others cause well.....cause.....i dont live there
