  1. Thanks for coming , guys! It was awesome! Please come back! We're having another boogie in October. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  2. Valinda's Leap for Lupus is what inspired the boogie. I heard there were 10 people who got free tandems by getting enough donations! Pretty good for the first time around, I'd say. It's looking like this may become an annual event! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  3. The Bosie Rescue Mission provides food, clothing, shelter and religious based counseling to those in need. http://www.boiserm.org/ They help a lot of people in this area. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  4. We had an awesome weekend... Besides raising money for a good cause, we had funjumpers from Texas, Florida, California, Washington and even Brazil. Several of us got introduced (and hooked) on CReW thanks to some CReW dawgs that came. It's looking like this will be an annual July event, so keep it in mind for next summer. 5. 0:10: First time in a long time that I've owed beer. I finally got to spend time doing CReW. First two-stack and got my four stack, too. Hard to believe 10 jumps and less than 2 minutes of freefall when every load was to full alititude. I've got a whole lot of muscles this morning that are doing a bit of complaining about the use they got this weekend!!
  6. QuoteI'll get it checked out. Whatever happens, I still want to do my AFF 8 jump on Friday. I am sooo close to being off AFF and for this to happen, really fukking sucks!!!! And fucking up your back permanently will suck even worse!!! Have some patience, Grasshopper! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  7. Hi, Can you be more specific about where? I'm going to be at a conference that week in Muskegon. I'm trying to learn CRW with Abbie Mashall in Idaho, but he's mighty busy. Hopefully, Ill have a few jumps with him before the camp, but I'm definitely a beginner. Thanks, Pat "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  8. Missed you! Glad you are back! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  9. It is fun and you learn a lot. I've taken the class and would do it again.
  10. I've done 4 so far... two solo's and two two-ways. The view is spectacular. No injuries and since my depth perception isn't to great in the daytime, it's not much different in the dark. We try to do night jumps here every month in the summer, so hopefully I'll get a few more this summer.
  11. Even with icky rain on Saturday, I did manage to get 5 jumps this weekend. Now if Summer would get here, I could really get some jumps in. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  12. I remember all of those things. I was sorta hoping I would find a post with something I didn't remember. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  13. Pretty new to skydiving. I just started jumping about 3 and a half years ago. I'm at about 835 jumps now. The longest I've been between jumps since I got my license three years ago is 3 weeks a couple of times. I sorta like it, even in the winter! 14. Skydive Utah is my favorite, too. Lots of nice outs! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  15. I'm a travellin' woman! One record jump was in Montana (and it was a 10 way ), but the other was in Arizona. Womens' state rw record with a 27 way! We're hoping for an Idaho womens' record this summer. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  16. Sheesh! I did my first tandem about 3 years ago at 57. I'm 60 now and have over 800 jumps and on a couple of state rw records. Too old??? Hell no!!!!!! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  17. 3.... My Cookie for most skydives, a Bone Head for camera and a frap hat I haven't worn yet.
  18. I regularly have my math classes do the conversion. 120mph is equal to 176 feet per second.
  19. The response has been very positive. I even regularly help plan trips to the dz for physics and astronomy students at the college where I teach. Just last weekend, one of the science instructors and I took out a group of ten to do tandems. Some of the administrators have said they'd like to come, but I always manage to forget to let them know a trip is coming. I am pretty well behaved, but there are things that just need to stay at the dz. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  20. I love the view from the air without a plane in the way!!!
  21. No not at all, I'm just happy

  23. Impressive, Squeak! Look at how many of the missing you inspired to post!!
  24. There is something to be said for Facebook's ability to hide/unfriend/never friend the people that bug you. (edit to add: come to think, Squeak unfriended me on there so I'm with Remi ... this post really is rather suspect ) For me, although I wasn't on his list, I don't post here as often for a couple of reasons with a big one being the lack of anything I want to comment on most of the time. I also like the quicker response time with Facebook. I can chat and comment, not to mention the LIKE button. I keep looking for one here and going to the bother of responding with a smile or a +1 is just more trouble than it's worth. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!!
