    5th Control Line

nope just cut it off(on the right side of the line/canopy) It will take you as long as a rigger to remove the 5th line mod.(just need to cut that line in both ends)cant be more simple than that Much cheaper than shipping it back too.

    5th Control Line

Why did you send it back to have it removed? Do they do anything other than just taking it off?
  3. The formations for the RW segment of this event have been announced along with the criteria for judging the rest of the events and the prizes. Details Here Three definite teams have already entered with possible fourth and fifth teams. Teams will also be formed on Saturday morning. This promises to be a fun weekend!
  4. And you're NOT a rigger? You would be the best kind ... seriously. As long as he doesn't confuse centimeters and inches
  5. That magic moment after you've committed but before you're feet have left.
  6. Slide the front riser silicone bumpers up on to the lines. Move the front slider grommets onto the front riser just below the links. Slide the silicone bumpers back in place. PS: Don't do the same to your rear risers/rear slider grommets because that could cause the slider to interfere with the brakes.
  7. Skydive Delmarva October 14-15, 2006 Plan now to participate in this 2-day, 6-jump, 3-event meet for mixed experience level jumpers organized in teams of four. 8. As long as you hug them before you cut them down it's ok.
  9. Here is a link to a great free desktop conversion program that does meters to feet among many other conversions: Conversion Program Also, if you type (for example) "202 meters to feet" into Google it will tell you 202 meters = 662.729659 feet.

    base advice

I also have both rigs and like them both. I actually like the wraparound pin cover of the Perigee Pro better than the cross over pin cover of the Gargoyle. It seems to interfere less with the bridle and pins when you are opening and closing it to do pin checks. I also think the metal cutaway housings of the Gargoyle add unnecessary bulk to the rig, but if I ever have to cut away to avoid being dragged under water I may be glad they are there. I like the dynamic corrners of the Gargoyle too. Does anyone in your crew (esp. people you are learning from) have either rig? If so you may want to go with that one so they can show you the subtleties of packing it.
  11. I just found about 50 skyride sites that stole text from our website. Anyone have any luck getting them to remove material that is owned by someone else?
  12. What a wonderful thing to be able to say. Great pics!

    New Video

I'm not sure what time it is, but it is the last jump in the movie -- the horrible looking rollover where my feet slipped and the lines went slack.

My entire standard for rating a vidoe is how much ME is in it. This one has ME at the very end, so I give it a thumbs up.
  15. Just a reminder that the SCR/SCS camp is happening this weekend. We are also having a beer tasting on Saturday night. To participate please bring a 12-pack or case of a special beer and a snack or something to throw on the grill. We should have a good variety of beer to try after the jumping and then we'll light the bonfire! There is no charge for either event.
  16. A friend of mine is getting close to needing knee replacement surgery. Two doctors have told him he shouldn't jump any more once he has had the surgery. Has anyone jumped after having a knee replacement? What were your experiences? What are the additional risks? I'll forward any responses to him as he is not on dz.com. Thanks!
  17. This Saturday, August 19th, is Skydive Delmarva's Hawaiian Beach Party, featuring Jimmy Buffet and other beach music, Dana's Hurricanes, Lisa’s Slip-n-Slide, and Christine's Mojo Mojitos. So, you know, if you want to you can go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans. Pictures from Last Year's Hawaiian Beach Party

    BASE research

    How did he like it?
  20. The strobes would be for under canopy as recommended in 2.b. We'll probably just use chem lights for the whole thing though. Mag lights are a good suggestion, but not cost effective for the DZ to provide. Thanks for the tips!
  21. I'm looking to get in touch with Mattew Roundtree. If anyone knows him, please PM me. Thanks!
  22. August 5, 2006 at Skydive Delmarva Saturday Night after the sunset load we'll be dining on Italian food and drinking Italian wine. The moon will be close to full that night, so those who want to can do a night jump! USPA "B" license is required to jump at night. The max cost for night jumps will be $29. That is if only 6-8 people want to do them. If there are more people jumping the cost may go down. The cost will include chem lights and possibly strobe lights provided by the DZ. The strobes will be returned to the DZ after the jump.
  23. A promising new skydiver at our DZ just lost $1500 to a Western Union scam. The scammer put an ad on dz.com, set up a fake escrow company website and asked for our unsuspecting jumper to send the money to the escrow company via western union. The day after she sent her money the website was gone and the poster of the ad would not return email. The poster said he was from the UK and the fake escrow company was based in the UK. She doesn't even know where to start to try to investigate so she's just considering the money lost . She said the poster of the ad sounded like a skydiver because he knew the lingo. Watch out for yourselves.
  24. Yeah, I'm a skydiver AND a BASE jumper and I can't stand myself sometimes
