  1. Jump #100. I've just landed from the celebratory zoo way on the sunset load, walking in from the landing area getting ready for my beer when I feel something hit the top of my head. Instinctively I reach up and touch it, as I bring my hand back down I disctincly smell Fritos. I look up and about 500 feet up and 500 feet out a tandem student is puking his guts (and fritos) out. Talk about good spotting.
  2. The key in that video was to a rental car. I was on vacation in the UK and it was the start of a three day weekend. I had to get the car towed to my apartment an hour away. They couldn't fit it in the garage and the power windows were down so I had to get it towed from the apartment to the nearest impound lot. Then I had to wait three days before I could get a new key from the rental company. But at least it was only $400
  3. Here's why you shouldn't keep your car keys in a velcro pocket while skydiving Video
  4. Here's another vote for Delmarva The instructors are very experienced and do a good job of making you feel at ease. The pace is just right for me, not too busy and not too slow. It's a fun place to be after jumping too. Things will get kicked off at Delmarva on Safety Day (March 11th). I've been to a few of the other DC area DZ's and I like them all. Delmarva just feels more like home to me. Once you get your A license you will want to go around to the other DZ's because each one is different and you may find one that really clicks with you. The 20 minutes of tunnel time probably will help with your stability in freefall at higher AFF levels and your solo jumps. Where do you climb? My wife and I are just getting into climbing and there are a handful of other people who jump at Delmarva and also climb.

    The Hammer

That's the best laugh I've had from DZ.com in a while. Thanks!
  9. One of our fun jumpers who started this year did a nice write-up about his experiences going through the AFF program. I really enjoyed it as it brought back a lot of the feelings I had going through the AFF program.
  10. Yeah but at least they know how to fight kangaroos, wrestle crocadiles, and stick their thumbs up the asses of highly venemous snakes. I'd gladly give up my WOOOOOHOOOO ability for any one of those skills.
  11. I guess 1000 jumps WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!
  12. I have an LG 7000. The outside LCD screen is dim and useful for when you need just a little light, e.g. pin check, and the inside LCD is brighter and useful as a low powered flashlight, e.g. walking through the woods or packing in the dark. On the downside it is sensitive to moisture and lights up like a christmas tree when making or receiving a call. It also doesn't have that SIM thingy.
  13. My wife and I spent the first half of our honeymoon in Paris. Over 5 days we had many interactions with waiters, store clerks, people on their way to work whom we asked for directions, etc. Without exception the people we met were pleasent and helpful. We don't speak any French apart from what we learned listening to a cassette tape for about a month, but we were respectful and polite and that went a long way.
  14. I didn't shop around at all. I just read what has been written on this forum and went for Velocity. I'm happy with it, but don't have anything to compare it to.
  15. Or they may have made you ultra-fertile. I'm talking impregnate-a-75-year-old-woman-with-her-tubes-tied-from-across-the-room fertile. Watch out!
  16. My wife just got me the Velocity Body armor. Awesome! I will dutifully reward her the same way Twoply rewarded his wife. The one thing is that it only covers about half of my tail bone if I'm standing, and none of it if I ball up. What if anything are people doing to protect their tailbones?
  17. Once you think you've found the right A in the FCC database, you can put the lat, lon into mapquest to make sure it's the right one.
  18. If you got it in your arm pit then you'd have a peach pit
  19. I'm thinking it's some kind of structure on the ground, but that's just a guess.
