Well I haven't done a whole lot of video capture and editing at this stage (waiting on when I have a better computer) but I use a system that would be easily adaptable to computer files, when I label my miniDV tapes: I put just the jump number down. That way I can refer back to my logbook for more details about the jump and don't have to waste space trying to describe the whole clip when I am catalogueing. I'm sure an Access database would work well for this especially if you kept your logbook in an electronic form in Access as well. I just read the Atmonauti article on the DZ.com front page. Maybe I'm missing something here, but this just seems like fancy tracking to me. Granted I think it's cool that people are actually starting to do tracking formations and such (because I had wondered about doing that at times) but I fail to see why this deserve it's own moniker in the skydiving jargon. Hey all, one of my friends just arrived at Deland to discover that his lodging for this weekend had fallen through. He was supposed to stay in a friend's camper van, but turns out the van broke down and noone thought to tell the guy who was flying down with all his stuff that his place to stay wasn't going to make it to the DZ. So help a fellow skydiving out, my friend's name is Dave and he has real short hair (think military haircut), a bright yellow Wings rig and probably another bag and laptop with him. So if you see him, say hi and show him how cool Deland skydivers are. And if anyone has some extra floorspace for a fellow stranded skydiver to crash on during this Thanksgiving Holiday, you'll probably be his new best friend.
