  1. Correct on all counts... Actually, both girls are pretty level headed and mature when they want to be.... for 14 yr olds... Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

  3. Ok... here's one I never thought I'd have to think on... My wife and I have been asked if our friends can take our 14 yr old daughter to Europe for a week over New Years.... all expenses paid to Paris and London. They're going, and the grand father apparently doesn't want to go, so my daughters friends G'ma (who is footing the bill) suggested my daughter to fill in the slot. Aside from the fact that my daughters first exposure to a different culture would be the French, I'm not really opposed to it. The couple going are professionals, down to earth, and a bit more conservative than my wife and I. We trust them completely (obviously) or we wouldn't even entertain the idea. ...and this is something that, quite frankly, my wife and I simply can't give her. So what say you folks.... what's your opinion? Would you let her? What's your thoughts on it? objections? pearls of wisdom? Thingies to consider? Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

I've had it done.... it's not a big deal. Of course, I already have kids (2 that I know of, and 1 of each type) so the decision was easier on that note... As far as the actual procedure goes... it took a total of about 1/2 hr door to door. Just a local near the boys, a bit of a shave, a big assed butcher knife, and it was done. Ok... it prolly wasn't all that big of a knife, but when sharp instruments are being used anywhere near there, ... Keep a cooler of beer at hand cause it's a bit of a discomfort to get out of the recliner for a couple days.... Wear a size or two, too small tighty-whities... keep the boys well secured and contained, and you won't feel like ya got kicked in the nuts. Don't make the mistake of thinking you'll be fine if you don't, cause you won't. Remember, it ALWAYS "hurts like hell honey", even though it doesn't. Play that card right and you should be able to milk it out for damn near a week before you have to get back to doing chores and shit.... Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

  10. Yep.... John Lindstrom had his ticket pulled by the FAA around April 06'. He was pencil packing reserves w/out the customers knowledge, and likely packed me a total on my reserve (hard pull at a minimum). There are others afaik, but nothing I have first hand knowledge of... Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

  13. Here's my .02 cents, for what it's worth... YMMV 1) Don't seek or take skydiving advice off the interwebby thingy... 2) Sit down with your instructor and have a heart to heart... make sure he/she understands your past experiences and issues... 3) Discuss with him/her the possibility of utilizing a tunnel... 4) Rember, learning to skydive isn't some sort of race or competition. If you want it bad enough, work hard enough, and can perservere long enough... you'll get there.
  14. Congrats! Video on ABC news "Skydivers in Russia have broken the national record for the largest connected free-fall formation when 186 people joined in the air. The team of a training centre in Kolomna, a town 100 kilometers south-east of Moscow, beat the previous record by six people. “On August 11, the efforts of the parachutists bore fruit. An aerial video showed that they were successful in making the 186-people formation,” Aerograd Kolomna centre head Roman Lezhnev told reporters on Friday. The team jumped out of ten planes at a height of 6,500 meters." Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

  16. Gee... guess it's my bad then. I looked at the OP's profile and seen no mention of any license, much less a D. That, combined with you were responding to me on your initial post... Can you see where that might be a tad confusing, to anybody reading the thread? Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
