  1. Well, this one time in Band camp... Seriously... I've managed to crack a Bell helmet back in the day when motorcycle helmets were popular. I've also cracked a protec as well... Both were on "not so elegant" landings, off the DZ. Well actually, one was while the other was my first (and only) attempt to soar my canopy off the side of a f'n cliff... It was largely successful in that I made it all the way down w/altitude to spare, but what appeared thru binoculars to be little bushes was actually big ass mesquite 'trees' growing amongst a bunch of truck sized boulders. Always walk your landing area first! I've been hit on the back of my head hard enuff to bleed and damn near pass out (B12s and combat RW, hit from behind and never seen it coming..). And I've seen numerous folks biff and tumble... but in short, it's not the ride in the plane or even the getting to the ground part that you have to worry about usually.... It's the rock hard bosom of Mother Earth thats apt to getcha! Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
  2. Whose this 'we' you speak of? I've not seen or heard (aside from an individuals personal opinion on this board) anything to indicate that that Israel wants to destroy Palestine. What I have heard is that they want the bullshit mortar/rocket/terroristic attacks to STOP. But whatever... I don't have a dog in this fight. If it were up to me, I'd select 3 good sized nukes and rid the world of a few problem sites.... (think Jerusalem, Mecca, and the Vatican) and take the a reason for the fighting out of the equation. At anyrate, from the sheer number of threads you've created about the Israeli / Palestine debacle, it would appear that you do have a dog in it.... why don't you do something about it? Ever think about going over there and doing your part to protect the "innocent" Palestinians from the "evil and wicked" Israeli war mongers? Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
  3. Well... you won't grow anything (except your elect bill) by trying to garden with incandescent light bulbs, which is why high pressure sodium and metal halide or flourescents are used instead. As anyone who has tried their thumbs at indoor gardening can tell you, heat IS a factor to contend with. Typically, a fan for circulation and and ventilation system of some sort is needed to keep the heat to a minimum.... but that increases the elec bill as well. So without breaking out a calculator and crunching the numbers, I'd imagine that using led lights without the vent system would make noticable difference when writing the checks every month. 4. Face it... LEDs are the light of the future, or so it would seem. My "biggest" concern was whether or not they emit the right wavelengths of light for a small, hydroponic indoor garden. They do, so I'm good. Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

  6. Well.... he ONLY asked how to keep the skeeters off his noggin, not how to NOT offend an entire airplane full of folks. I just tossed that in as a free bonus!!! Besides, it only works on folks over a size 8. Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
  7. Lot's of garlic the night before.... Avon skin-so-soft on the noggin helps... Stand next to other folks, as there is safety in numbers. Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
  8. Yes, there is a "special reason" why you shouldn't do that... I'd be happy to explain further, but if I divulge that kind of info on a public forum, it wouldn't be all that 'special' now, would it? Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
  9. That's called "couch-lock". Perhpas there's a lot of safety briefings... Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
  10. A few questions I have are, does the owner have any recourse for getting the firearms back? Is there a legal channel that she can pursue? If so, what are the chances that she would be successful? Is there a possibility, since she is apparently dying and therefore "could be" on hard-narcs/drugs for pain management, that this could be the "reason" for the confiscation? 11. Jim... you seem to have a real issue with the federal gooberment, on multiple levels. Personally, I can't really say that I blame you as they do seem to provide us ample noggin fodder for questioning the status quo. This being said... What do you propose we, as in the American people, do about it? Do you propose peaceful demonstrations to effect change like the Egypt? Do you propose anarchy / civil war to return America back to it's whatever fundamental values you feel were lost? Do you advocate becoming involved in the political process ourselves and effecting change from within the system? Do you hope to create change by beating your chest and whipping up public fervor so their hands get dirty and your don't? I guess I'm just asking you, what the hell do you want and how do you propose to get it? Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

  13. afaik... There is a "zero tolerance" policy for weapons, or anything that appears to be a weapon, or anything that might magically turn into something that might appear to be a weapon. The accused is automatically suspended pending the expulsion of the student. What happened here, IMHO, is a kid got ahold of the "tabu" gun and brought it to school thinking how cool it would be to show his friends, having no clue as to the consequences because he's been totally sheltered from that "mean nasty" gun thing. ...I can't really blame the kid. Since we were climbing down from the trees, kids have been curious. I do however, totally blame the parent/parental unit charged with caring for the kid. Both parents should be held accountable... 21. 2 mins knocking down the high stuff w/an electric razor daily, except on weekends or when I'm feeling lazy. I shave all proper like only if I'm going out with the wifey, meeting an agreeable 20 something year old for hot sex, or have a job interview. None of those have happened in a looong looong time so ya prolly shouldn't count those. Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
  22. I was just thinking the same thing.... I wouldn't put it past the Libs to seed the park with rounds, thereby killing two birds with one stone.... 1) More bad publicity on those lunatic Tea-baggers and 2) More "justification" for taking away all those scary guns.
