  1. Having that wacko bitch show up at the office fits right in with her other behavior, so probably not a dream. Christian will probably find him a perform a miracle save. Don't know if it is related to the writer's strike or not, but the this last one seemed to be a lot easier to predict, like Julia loosing her memory and the dead guy in the closet. "I'm not lost. 2. Watched the latest episode last night from DVR. He looked like he lost a lot of blood there. Side note: I love DVR! "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley

  4. Well, if you use the term "stock" in that context where all cars must fit the very strict template, then yeah, it's stock cars. They have a template for each make - one for Chevy, one for Ford, etc. to take into account the differences in the body shapes, but like you said, they all must conform to specific tolerances. You are VERY in-informed on this. There is only one body template. Take a look at NASCAR.com for some good information. "I'm not lost. 5. Saw him in 1974 or 1975 in Tucson, AZ. Was a good show, was surprised he did not sing though. His base player did almost all of the vocals. edited to add: I am sure, at one point, I saw smoke coming from his fingers. That may have been some of the, ah, um, 'enhancements' though... Was 3 or 4 rows back on the end of a row of seats so the view was crossways too. Yeah, that's it. "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  6. So where did they jump? "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  7. Here is a quote from NASCAR.com by Brian Vickers. "My heart rate was higher, my stress level was definitely higher [Thursday] from the time I woke up until the end of that race, until the very last lap, than at any point in time prior to me jumping out of an airplane at 13,000 feet," Vickers said with a laugh. "Jumping out of the airplane was obviously awesome; I'm not going to lie to you. You jump out and see the ground coming at you at 100, 200 miles an hour at 13,000 feet, and it's definitely an eye-opener. But it didn't hold a candle to trying to make the Daytona 500 in one of these races." Link to Article Anyone know where he jumped? "I'm not lost. 8. You got that right. "Nip/Tuck" is absolutely hilarious. I can't remember an episode where I didn't say, "Wow, didn't see that coming." "Breaking Bad" seems just as compelling as Nip/Tuck, but I have not felt the emotions I have watching "Breaking Bad". The last episode I laughed so hard I felt it in my belly as well as felt the tears when Walter realizes that Crazy 8 was playing him. "I'm not lost. 9. As you say, for the most part. Trying to get useful information, not data, from the topical forums is a matter of wading through the one-liners, inside jokes and off topic posts. My suggestion was simply that, a suggestion. I know I cannot be the only one that sees no value in the above mentioned useless drivel. Would be nice to find a way to weed that stuff out, at least from the topical forums, don't you think? Being part of the inside joke, or someone that likes posting one-liners, would certainly make the user posting these much more likely to want to keep them there. Please understand that I am NOT saying you are one of those users. "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  10. I am really curious about this 'mock jump'. What is it that you actually have the student do? "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  11. Yeah, I agree there will be more. The ratings have been very good for a cable network series. Certainly much more entertaining that some of the other new stuff, like "Smash Lab". I think they asked viewers their favorite parts of "Myth Busters" and most must have said, "When the blow/sink/smash/break stuff", and that is where they got the idea for that show. "I'm not lost. 12. Has anyone else been watching this? I was a little intrigued by the promos, so I set my DVR to record it. After the first 3 episodes, I have to say, this is a really good series. I have had emotions from hurt the belly laughing to getting teared up. Really good stuff. "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  13. A resounding YES from this reader. "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley

  15. I did think of this. My, unsupported by facts, conclusion is that those that are simply posting a lot to run up their post numbers or post a lot of one liners would probably not think it worth the money. On the other hand, paying for a premier membership to get more post per day would show a commitment to the site and demonstrate that they are willing to 'put their money where their mouth is'. I would guess that allowing unlimited posts for free is what gets all of the noise and the noise makers would not feel it was worth the cash. Having said that, I am sure the reality would be there will be some noisy posters that have more money than brains and will pay to propagate the noise. Again, this is all IMHO, without real facts. 16. I did consider posting this in the Bonfire, but I thought the point of the post really made it suggestion material. Certainly, many more would see it in the Bonfire, but I am not one of the 'chosen' so it probably would not get much traction there. Another thought I had was to suggest that if users would like to engage in 'inside' talk, the Pub would be ideal for this. Not going to work if the poster is really looking for an audience though. 17. In reference to the Open Fourms thread in the Bonfire, I had an idea that may help get the forums relevant again. I know that I can not be the only one that hates having to wade through the one line responses and inside jokes to find information. How about a limit to the number of posts a person can make in a 24 hour period? You could limit it to, say 20, or some other reasonable number. If someone wants to subscribe with a premeier membership, give them more. That would help eliminate the number of totally worthless posts, one liners and lots of other bullshit. Some of the people that post do so simply to get a big number on their profile. Just a thought. Nomex underwear now on, FLAME AWAY! "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  18. [replyFair enough. I'd still say he should get the A and work towards the B before buying used or new though. That way he can get a bit more legs out of his container. IE. buy a 170/170 and be able to put a 150 and 135 in it rather than buying a container fit for a 220 and only be able to go down to 170 or so. You know I have read so many posts like this about buying gear. I bought new stuff. I bought a container that allowed me to put a 190 in it for a 1:1 loading. I have only had it for a little over a year, but I have no plans on downsizing for a good long while. Meanwhile, I am putting jumps on my gear at it is getting wear because of this, probably even more wear than most because I jump in the desert at a DZ that is very dusty. Had I bought used, I would probably have had to get some more gear, or would very soon and I would have ended up spending the same as I spent on my new gear and end up with the same sized canopies, not to mention the AAD. My profile is accurate and as can be seen, I am still way new to this, but posts like that seem to say that you will be downsizing a lot. I simply do not understand that. I think I am pretty good at flying my stuff, but I know that I am no where near the point where there is not still much more to learn from flying my rig. I simply do not understand how jumpers downsize 3 or 4 times in the first 200 jumps and end up with gear that is less than a 1:1 loading. Certainly there must be those that get enough jumps in a short enough time period to make those rapid downsizings justified, but I would think that the majority of jumpers do not. You buy new and it fits YOU, you are not having to find a rig that you might fit you, but was not made for you. Just my n00b .02. "I'm not lost. 22. Cool. Just did my first two jumps this past Saturday with a Matter Tracer. Loved it! Glad to have some experienced WS flyers that gave me some good instruction. First jump, time to pull and the body just took over with a normal pull sequence. My right hand goes back, left up and to the front. I started a slow turn as I deployed. No big deal, still got a good opening with no line twists, but would have kicked myself, if I could get my legs up that high, in the ass for not using the WS pull that I was shown and practiced. Second jump, much better body position during the flight and I could see the difference on the AltiTrack. Did a good pull and stayed on heading. Funny thing was I did get 1.5 line twists. Again, no big deal. Really loved it. Looking forward to getting plenty of practice with this before I venture on to a full WS. That really is flying! I always thought I was flying my body before, and I guess I do, but with the suit on, I can really see the ground I cover. Yeah, yeah, I owed and payed BEER. "I'm not lost. 23. I am, as shown in my profile, a major noob. I was taught one hand on each handle. Had my first, and so far, only chop on jump 27 and I was under my reserve before the thoughts of the actual actions were in my head. I had a spinning main, and at 2500 the thought I had was, "This is not going to be landable." From there, it seemed to me that my body took over and did the EP's. Anyhow, that was my experience and I had a stand up landing on the reserve and lived so one hand on each handle seems to have been sufficient. "I'm not lost. 25. Oh, so now you're slamming EVERYONE with their book ideas? The man has a dream! Actually, what came to mind was the scene from Airplane: Stewardess: Ma'am would you like something to read? Woman: Yes, but something light. Stewardess: How about this pamphlete on Jewish sports legends? Now THATS funny, I don't care who you are... "I'm not lost.
