  1. After reading this months safety check I thought that I would open this subject up for debate. So, what do you think should be done about reserve sizing for freeflyers? Should we be gravitating toward rigs that are made for big reserves and small mains so if we have a reserve prematurely deploy or if we intentionally deploy our reserve at a high speed it will be less likely to blow up. Or should we be more worried about the possibility of having two out and the difference in sizes of the two canopies? Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it
  2. Has anyone heard of instances where the lines from the main catch on the top or exposed PC for the reserve on rigs like Reflex, Wings, Jav., etc...? Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it
  3. Has anyone heard of instances where the lines from the main catch on the top or exposed PC for the reserve on rigs like Reflex, Wings, Jav., etc...? Ah, shit I thought I was in Gear and Rigging, oops. I'll post it there too Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it
  4. You should fly camera too, so we can see it from multiple perspectives.
  5. I want to put a small pocket on my d-bag to keep rubber bands in, but I can't decide where the best place to put it is. I don't think putting it on the inside of the bag is the best idea because every time the canopy is extracted it will rub on the pocket. I don't want to put it on the closing flap because I don't like velcro near my lines. I was thinking that on the front of the bag centered between the first two rubber bands is probably the best place, but what do you guys think? Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it
  6. Partly cloudy here in Northern California, but its freezing down here on the ground I can't imagine what its like at altitude. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it
  7. hmmm... I THINK that it can only be a hazard if your humming it in. I've heard that your cypress can be off a few hundred feet, but not thousands. So the only real danger is if you are deploying low and the cypress is off a little and you snivel through the firing range which is something like 800 ft (I think). I wouldn't worry about it because your probably not pulling that low. So yes the cypress can be affected by your burble, but not enough to to deploy your reserve at the altitudes that your talking about. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  8. Once your on to level 2,3,4 etc.. try to pound out as many jumps in a day as possible so that what you learned on the previous jump is still fresh in your mind and your more relaxed. Have fun and
  9. Are those real? I mean seriously what are the chances of having a camera and taking a picture of that, it would happen too fast. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  10. I have very limited knowledge on this but from what I've heard you need to make the ZP fabric (the top of the PC) as close to a perfect circle as possible so that the PC doesn't spin up the bridle or lines as it is deploying. Plus there are all sorts of other things that you must consider when making the PC like the circumference of the PC so that it isn't so small that it can't pull the closing pin, etc, etc...... Its probably easier to just spend the money and get a new one that is sized correctly for your rig. Do you have a riggers cert.? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  11. Aye!!!! Boobies Boobies !!!!!
  12. I seen a lot of discussion about back tracking in resent posts and I was curious what's the best way to get into a back track from a sit without corking? I'm stable in a sit and can turn and drive forward and stuff, but I can't seem to transition to a back track very well, help please!!! Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  13. Thats awesome Sebastein, I wish I could have been there to see that. I'm sitting here laughing thinking about you with that flag in your jumpsuit. Dude loose some weight you fat ass.
  14. Viking~ I'm a full time student and work almost full time too. Find a small company (stay away from big companies they don't care about you) and get a job doing retail, receiving (thats what I do), or whatever. You have a better chance at finding a job that will deal with you going to school and wanting to have weekends off for skydiving if you find a small company. Just my personal opinion/expirence. 15. How low is to low to get out at in an emergency? Personally if I was next to the door at 500 feet and the plane was going to go in I would seriously consider getting the hell out, maybe even if it was lower. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  16. Who makes the reserve pillow that has what feels like a metal tube under the fabric?? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  17. Why do you care so much about getting the smallest size that you can?? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  18. Heheheheh..... I got my sit this weekend Yeah baby!!! I can fall stable and turn a little, I just need to keep reminding myself that I only need to make tiny movements and to relax into it. Sorry to be bragging , but I'm totally stoked!!!
  19. I'm not the most informed person on this subject, but I think there is a flat pro pack and standing pro pack, isn't there?? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  20. If you freefly or plan to, an audible is a very good idea. With the increased speeds its good to have something that will scream at you when its time to break off or pull. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  21. I've been told my sit is really slow too and I've been considering buying a jump suit so that I don't have to use my homemade freefly pants, but I'm unsure what to get that will get my fall rate up to par. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  22. Oops I made a mistake on my original post I meant for the container to be sized one size smaller than the main. Not two sizes smaller. Anyway thanks for all the advice, as always you all are soooooo helpful!!! Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  23. Looks like someone has a little too much time on their hands. Next you'll be telling us that you have pics of naked celebs. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
