  1. Is it ok to buy a container that is sized for a main canopy that is smaller than the one that you plan to use in it until you are ready to down size? Example: New container sized for a 120 main, but use a 150 in it. The reason why I ask is because I would like to be able to buy a container that I can down size with so that I can avoid buying a new container every time I want to down size. 2. I've heard that their internal riser covers warp after they have see enough sun. Plus there aren't any around my DZ so I haven't had a chance to check one out. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  3. riggerrob - I know where you bias comes from, so sell it to me! Did they change anything on the reserve set up from theTalon 2? You still work for Rigging Innovations? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  4. Ok, so also tell me what you don't like about the containers. Thanks Kelly Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  5. hmmm... I think Sebazz "dropped ass" on the plane this weekend, but I could be mistaken. We have a lot of people that are rotting from the inside out at our DZ, if you know what I mean. On one load this weekend someone let one loose on the plane that was so bad that the co-pilot was gaging from the sour stench that filled the plane. Disgusting!!!!! Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  6. I just accepted a new position at work that pays a hell of a lot better. So with my extra cash I was thinking of buying a new rig, but I'm not sure what container to get. I've narrowed it down to an Odyssey, Mirage, or a Voodoo, but I can't decide. I've heard good things from my rigger about the reserve set up on the Voodoo and the Odyssey, but I haven't heard anything about the G3. Whats the reserve set up like on the G3? I have a talon 2 now and I really like it so naturally I'm leaning towards the Voodoo, but how do they all compair (comfort, reserve setup, freeflable, etc)? Oh and whats up the freefly pullout handle thingy that the Mirage G3 has? Is it good, bad, or of no concern? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  7. What kind of experience should someone have before they go to a freefly school if they want to get the most bang for their buck?? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  8. I'm having the same problem too. Help?!?!? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  9. I've found that if you put your arms down at your side, a little lower than your beer belly, and then cup the air with your arms and hands while you put your feet and legs together and point your toes and then roll your shoulders in and stick your butt up a little, you'll be able to really slow down your fall rate and track like a bat outa hell. 10. What? You guys already got your January 2002 issue? I just got my December issue, WTF!!! Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  11. I am just learning to sit fly and I have noticed that my reserve flap on my Talon 2 is coming up when I sit fly and my riser covers are flapping around too. Would it be possible to put walrus teeth (or some other kind of thing) on the reserve flap to keep it pinned down without making it unsafe? Also what can be done about tightening up riser flaps?? 12. An audible is always a great back up to your altimeter. Especially with the increased speeds of freeflying. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  13. Head Honcho and Skybytch, you guys rock!! Thanks for keeping the peace!! Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  14. My Skydiving life rocked: Met some of the coolest people ever Became part of the family with jump #1 on Aug 7th Graduated AFF Sept 1st I now have 32 jumps, 2 of them were helicopter jumps, SWEET!!! Got new to me, but used gear on jump 14 My Real Life Sucked: My fucked up father walked out on me, my sister, and my mom. Totally fucked life up, and now he says that he doesn't want to pay for my college. FUCKING ASSHOLE!!!! Two Words: Women SUCK (at least in my age category) Can you say "STRESS!!" (finals week) Partook in Natural Selection: Hit and killed a dumb ass deer caught in my head lights, $3000 damage, Ouch, and I haven't been able to jump in a month b/c my car was in the shop Work sucks, but pays for the dumb ass deer, and keeps me jumping Hopefully next year will be better Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  15. Dude Where's My Car?? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  16. Absolutely, in fact it helped me to decide that I wanted to pursue my childhood dream of being a fighter pilot, so with a little luck and an ass load of hard work I might just be able to realize my dream and all it took was jumping out of a plane. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  17. Flat pack in about 10 mins if in a hurry Pro Pack in like 2 freaking hours Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  18. Hmm... So many choices, part of the list: (in no particular order) Shawshank Redemption The Matrix High Fidelity Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  19. I was looking through my class schedule for the winter and I saw that ROTC is offered for the Army and the USAF. Does the Navy have a ROTC program?? Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  20. My original idea was to go out for the USAF, but after talking to a friend of my step father's who is a recruiter for the ROTC and an Academy admissions counselor, and hearing that in the Air Force for every pilot slot there are 100 people that are qualified for the slot and that I would need a 4.0 GPA (which isn't going to happen) I don't think I would have much of a chance in the USAF. For the Navy they have about 10 qualified people for every slot and those kind of odds sound a lot better to me plus I don't need a 4.0 GPA. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  21. Umm... I'm pretty new to this and at my DZ you might have to buy someone a slot if you want a coaching jump, but even that is rare. So what ever happened to doing it for the love of the sport?? Or how about coaching for free as a friendly favor kind of thing, its not like you aren't having fun while doing it? Aren't we all supposed to be one big sky diving family and not a bunch of greedy bastards looking to make a quick buck? This is not the kind of attitude that I thought sky diving was all about!!!! Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  22. I might need to if I'm going to pull of that 3.8 GPA that I need. I'm already stressed out over that. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  23. Yup, I'm having a serious case of information over load, but I'd rather have that than to be stumbling blindly in the dark with a decision like this. Anyway... After a lot of thinking and talking to some really great individuals I've come to the tentative decision that I'm going to graduate with an engineering degree and then I'll make a run for a flight slot in the Navy. All I need to do now its put my mind to it because I can do anything, I just have to want it bad enough. Its my dream and, damn it, nothing is going to get in my way!!! Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
  24. Ouch, that must of hurt. Its great that you are so upbeat about the whole thing. Hope you get well soon. Blue Ones, Nathan A# 39553
