  1. I've seen that one quite some time ago, and it wasn't pretty. When Felix exited the plane, he started spinning so bad the attachment to the plane ripped a piece of the fuselage completely appart, and Felix had to cut-away... I don't know if it was turbulence from the plane, Felix' flying abileties, faulty rigging or just a f*ckup.. Anyways, since there where stories on Patric working on taking off with a wingsuit I'm real curious if a human-kite/fast sailplane kinda-liftoff would work with a wingsuit... A piece of desert would seem like a better place to try then the freeway though :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Probably been beaten to death, dug op and beaten to death a hundred times more, but something I was wondering was, would it be possible to have a fast moving truck, with someone in a birdsuit standing on the back, hooked to a line. And (when the speed of the car is fast enough) use the relative wind to fly a birdmansuit kinda like a human kite..? Just an idiots mind wondering off...sorry..:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  7. Would just like to second the first statement. Nice guys always finish last (when it comes to relations) But for some reasons most nice girls I know have total a**holes as friends, who treat them like shit, and they know it, complain about it, but for some reason, put up with all the crap.. So nice guys end up alone, and nice girls end up with a**holes...what kind of a sick world do we live in?? p.s. All-round, friendly, good looking, multi talented (modest?) nice guy open for serious offers from nice girls..anyone...anyone........ (and after the echo's die down, there is only a long...long silence as an anwer:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. It's a shame but you hear it quite often. On the Dutch forum there are frequent post about missing gear. "Wil the person who took my jumpsuit please return it" "If someone accidently took my Pro-Track, please return it" and so on.... It's a sad thing, because of DZ is usualy one of the most trusting places around. It'd be a sad thing if all of a sudden everyone would have to get lockers and constantly keep everything locked away to prevent people from stealing it...but it's something of modern times I think.. My grandma didn't have a lock on her door about 50 years ago....try that now and your house would be robbed clean in less then an hour... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. I do 3D animation for a living...as a result I frequently surf the net for nice 3D images. My provider has a 3D contest every month, and last month the subject was extreme sports. A lot of people choose skydiving/base-jumping as a subject. What's so funny is that people kinda make-up details based on what they think they know, or saw in a photo. I'll include a few images with this msg. they're quite funny.. Solo's with a drogue, ripcords that need to be pulled from your back, loose (or even no!) legstraps.. 10. One day while I was walking, reading a magazine, waiting for a tram, something bit my foot. I looked down and there was a green leprechaun with his ballshaped head, feeling my shoelaces. He was a charming young man and desperately seeking a wig, one that would impress even the most hairy woman. he asked for help, So I came up with this Idea: I would take a razor, pull down my JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  14. My home DZ has a bit of a problem with altitude sometimes (due to heavy traffic from Schiphol Airport). We usualy have two planes flying, one is constantly trying to get up ahap, while the otherone does load after load from 4.000 to 6000 ft. Waiting for a higher turbine load can sometimes take quite a while, while there is virtualy no waiting time for a low hop out of the airplane....and 10 seconds of freefall is still anough to have a lot of fun and try a few crazy exits... 15. Without the aid of my logbook I'd say about 40% to 50% of my jumps. On my DZ I often get the choice (while wait to go on a high load) to make a h&p from 3.000/4.000 ft to help fill up a cessna load of S/L students. h&p's are fun.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  17. Saw this sick show on TV (and if it's on TV, it's true...right?) with a woman that was breast-feeding her dog (after her baby had long stopped breastfeeding and was practicly shaving himself already:) ...WHATS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!! That has got to be on of the sickest things I've ever seen...(although the internet makes me refine the term 'sickest I've ever seen' almost constantly) Been trying ever since to get the image erased from my mind...no succes so far...*curls up in agony* JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Sitting in the plane, all hyped about my first 3 second freefall. I get in the door, JM askes me "Ready?" so I reply "YEAaaA!" and jump. Falling away from the aircraft. Great view of the JM waiving two thumbs up. Thinking wow....enjoying it.....But suddenly I realize F*CK!! I'M FALLING, I HAVE TO PULL THE DAMN CORDS!!...I pull, chute opens...Felt like I was falling for at least 10 seconds...lateron the JM complimented me on falling excactly 3 seconds (instead of pulling 'in the door' as most first time clear/pull go:) Had a blast...landed a few feet away from my dad with the camera... 20. IMHO owning a gun won't make you safer....it COULD make a situation you have 1% chance to encounter safer, and makes the other 99% of your normal life way more dangerous... Glad to say that guns are not that big a problem here in Holland (yet)...your not allowed to own one here as freefly as some other countries... A (girl)friend of mine in Russia says that after 11 at night, almost everyone on the street you meet carries a gun....makes you scared...it's like walking around a piece of dynamite, waiting to go off... Yup...guns are scary sh*t.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. There's actualy a few S/L students at my DZ with screwy exits who got the advice to go to a swimming pool and practice their exit from the starting-block at the edge of the pool...that way you can realy aim for the perfect arch and not worry about landing (unlike jumping from the mockup) he always adds "If you realy want to practice, try doing it from the high-div-board...if you here SPLAT, and you lay on the watersurface for 2 seconds, and then slowly sink, you had a good boxman position uppon impact" :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Just call em 'hook' and 'swoop' or something... Who cares if they're males of females..(hmmm, sometning about that sounds terribly wrong:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. U just graduated the 10 jump RW training program at my Dropzone, and got an amazing first introduction RW jump with a few of my friends. Next to the occasional jump with a realy skilled person, I am going to start practicing a lot of 2 way jumps with a girl from my DZ who also just graduated. My question is, are there any (online) examples of dives we could do to practice? Or do you have any tips with things we should try and practice a lot to become a better (and always safe:) rw jumper.. Coming up with stuff to do by ourselves is okay (and there are plenty of people to ask at my home DZ), but if someone in here has a few golden tips on what to do, or could maybe point me towards some recource that has good info on things to do, practice and try that would be of great help.. Thank you :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Did 4 instructional jumps on saterday (formation skydive instrucion) Was so stressed for the first jump that day, when I was under canopy I discovered that I had forgotten to put on my gogles..aahhhhh, that's why I had to squint my eyes to see anything freefall :) After that first jump I was able to relax more, and everything went way easyer... graduated for level 10 of the instrcutional program (is it called skydive-u in the US?) on the 4th jump (even though we only could get to 6.000 ft instead of 10.000..glad I made it) So now I can jump with whomever I want to jump with and start learning some serious RW
