I've jumped a 182, 206, king air, caravan, and otter. My favorite is the otter, followed by the caravan, king air (brutal prop blast if it has the larger turbines), 206, and I really didn't like anything about the 182! G. Jones "The Mayfly lives only one day. And sometimes it rains..."

Jess, the other posts are probably correct. I've had fingers go numb, and the fingernail torn from grabbing the front risers during deployment. Single 3 years (happily, no thanks to her) and haven't been seriously looking (till now, maybe). The ex did resent the fact that I jump though. 0:3:1 1st jump at Skydance (and where the hell was Lummy Sat. AND Sunday!), winded all day Sat. (wind limits on rental gear, WTF??) and beer for my first jump from a Caravan! How does a Caravan compare to a King Air and an Otter? I understand it's a single turbo-prop, and I'm curious about the capacity (# of jumpers) and climb rate. Hi John, my advice is to check with your doctor, and if he will release you to jump then discuss it with the S&TA at your local DZ. If they both agree that you can jump be sure you have an AAD, with the 2 AAD setup being a good idea. Now...since you opened the door by asking - My first love was epileptic, and we made jokes to deal with her frequent grand mals. I told her once if she ever had one while taking a bath, I was gonna throw in some soap and do the laundry. G. Bill, while I agree completely with you, it's important to understand that waivers and releases are seldom (VERY seldom) ironclad and above the scrutiny of the courts.These documents at best limit liability, and at worst, aren't worth the paper they're written on. Legal issues in general are open to interpretation, which is why we have attorneys. Through the years, law has turned from an issue of common sense to one of who can sway the judiciary to their point of view by bringing to light (and arguing) ambiguities in written law. Due to this very thing law has become such an intricate and complex subject that the common man would be a fool to argue his own case in all but the most minor legal skirmishes. Just as an attorney could never interpret the schematics for a complicated switching power supply, you and I could never hope to decipher the legalese required to survive in our (In)justice system.
