    *SIGH*

Be prepared to leave your budget there. It only gets more fun and addictive from here! Congrats!!
  2. Yeeeess, as a matter of fact, I will be. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  3. Quite possibly "Minutes to memories" By John Cougar. But then again, maybe "She said", by Collective Soul. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

  6. Thanks for all the advice guys (and gals!), I knew I could count on ya. Not that I'd try a Rodeo yet . And thanks for the pics Andi...very nice! Greg
  7. I prefer double taps, high center, with a quick follow up to the pelvic girdle as needed. Screw the Mozambique! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  8. Got rid of my 21. Too big for concealment, and the grip was MONSTROUS. Accurate (with lead SWC's) and fun to shoot, but the 23 is my fav. More ft. lbs. of energy, flatter trajectory, and higher capacity ! As to the topic at hand: The sound of my 14 yr old son laughing (just cracks me up!), and his shit eatin' grin when he hears something funny. The smell of Jet A as I'm boarding the first load of the morning. Crystal clear blue skies on a cold morning. A good heavy thunderstorm. The sound of rain on a tin roof. Sitting on top of Peavine mountain during a snowstorm, with the dim and hazy lights of Reno in the background (especially in the late evening). My family. Cuddling and watching a good movie with someone you care about, while it's blowing snow and colder than a Teacher's wit outside. Watching the sun come up on opening day of Deer season, with my '06 across my lap. The smell and sound of a woodburning stove. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  9. "Sticks to your ribs"...as Granny used to say! Born and raised in N. FLA. I miss swamp cabbage the most. ps- if you have to ask what swamp cabbage is, you wouldn't like it anyway. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  10. Dammit Lisa...You're gonna make me stop by Juicys Giant burgers on the way home (and spend jump money, I might add! ) if you keep it up. Now STOP IT!!! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  11. My vote: HANG THE BASTARD! 'course, 'tis only my opinion. There are others I know who wish to disembowel the asshole! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  12. I'll know as soon as I get home. Chances are tonight, it'll be frozen and taste like cardboard (of course, it'll have to be washed down with beer to kill the taste, and disinfect my mouth). Ahhh, bachelorhood...gotta love it.
  13. Just curious. How does one dock on the belly flyer during a Rodeo? Is it done with the "rider" docking from a sit, or do both participants Belly fly, with one effectively "backpacking" the other, then sitting up? Seems to me that docking from a sit could be a little traumatic for both skydivers. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

  16. I used to get airsick pretty easy. On my first Tandem, we got to altitude and the door on the 182 was stuck (keep in mind that we were at 18k msl, and on o2). We circled for about 15 minutes trying to get the door up, then had to land, and have someone slip a multi-tool in through the crack to open the door while we were re-fueling. On the ride to altitude for the second time I started to feel queasy. I didn't say anything, thinking it would go away. Exit and freefall were o.k., but once we opened the TM started to spiral. I told him "if you do that again, I'm gonna puke!". He told me to take off one of my gloves, which I did. Then he told me "if you have to puke, puke in your glove!", then continued to spiral till just before landing.I swear, if we had been in the air another 15 seconds I would've heaved! I continued to be airsick till probably around jump 25 or 30. It wasn't till around jump 30 that I stopped getting airsick, and even realized (thanks Michele!!! ) that I could eat something in the middle of the day without getting queasy! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Hey Phree, sounds like a step in the right direction. I just think anything that needs to be done, regardless of the FF or RW requirements, could be done in 300 jumps. Keeping in mind that my frame of mind is a little warped right at the moment (and no offense is intended...to anyone), if the rest of the world wants to lead, let them go to Iraq! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  19. Bonehead, Altimaster III, Gloves, and goggles around jump 12. FF pants jump 43, and container, jump 46 . Main and reserve...your guess is as good as mine, but I suspect within the next 3 months!
  20. 0:0:and freakin' 0! Weather has been fantastic here, however, "old, frail, and broke..." I can relate to. Damn, I've only been 40 for a month, and I have a new ache or pain every day! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  21. Since Friday afternoon, Heineken, Becks, St Pauli, Sam Adams, Spaten (Pils-on tap)...plus the occasional shot of Jim Beam Black label. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
  22. O.k. Chris...now is where I say "BITE ME"! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Personally, I think 500 jumps for a "D" is a little out of line. If you want safer skydivers, bump the jump requirements to 300 and add requirements in the areas that need more emphasis / improvement! IMHO, simply increasing the jump # requirements isn't enough. Hell, I can flail around for 500 jumps as easily as I can for 200. On the other hand, if I have to do something productive on those jumps, well, that's a different story. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Dave, apparently it's not Canada alone. According to the article, USPA is following the lead of the majority of FAI member countries. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

I can't say for sure, but I think that would be unlikely as the board recently voted in favor of increasing the "A License" jump requirements to 25. As an aside, the B requirements will remain 50, C will be 200 jumps, and a D license will require 500 jumps. These new requirements will take effect Sept of 2003. This is per an article in Parachutist this month. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
