  2. If you are serious CALL 911, CALL 911, CALL 911 What ever you do do not pull the nail out.
  3. Yep what he said. Be patient and methodical. Take the extra minute or two to formulate a good plan, but don't plan the mitigation to the point the victim dies why your planning. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  5. Yes I give good Rub!! Just ask the girlies at my home DZ (I haven't got any complaints yet) I started to wonder how come I semed to have a females sitting in front of me on the plane more than the fellars do the 15minute neck rub on the ride up seems to be a popular favorite for a nice relaxed sky dive. Maybe I should charge a a rub? PS I will be at the Boogie at perris over Memorial day. I am the rather large fellar in the red/black tiedie free fly suit. Sit in front of me on the ride and mention this add for a free Rub (females only) Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  6. My understanding when I asked a similar question was: you pack it, you deploy it, if you chop it then you buy a re-pack You watch it packed, you pay for the pack, you deploy it, if you cop it then you buy a repack. Basically my understanding is packers want you to be happy with their work, repeat business is a plus Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  7. Okay now that you and frenchy are done going round and round what's your issue? you need a foot rub or what? Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  8. Pilot 210 Ack I just ordered my pilot 210, time to start saving money I guess. I have rotten knees so packing is a pain in the ass for me even when I pack my friends Spectre 150 Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  9. Most of us had what we felt as setbacks in our AFF progression. I was having so much fun on my second tandem in my TAFF program that I forgot to pull after being prompted twice (hell I was having fun!!) But after my scolding (eerrr ummmmm re-education on altitude awareness) I am ever so altitude aware now! I then needed FURTHER training to pass my AFF level 3 like yourself. it's easy to be stable when the JM has your harness, it's a whole new world when you are on your own. When Ed let me go I was a spinning potatoe chip (scared the hell out of me) Ed was there for me, redocked, I got stable and pulled. I would hate to even think about what would of happened if I deployed while spinning like I was. I repeated 2 aff jumps as I progressed, yes it was expensive but very neccessary. Here is a clicky www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1508251;search_string=brief%20journey;#1508251 for some light reading on my journey to my "A" lic. 10. Well it might be helpful to know what state you are in (fill out your profile). I live in California and just got an additional 250K for 25 year term for $47 a month and YES I told them I skydive. if you lie and you die you will not be covered. 11. Where as I agree that minor amounts of Pot should not be a jailable offense, but where to you draw the line? IS a little pot your line in the sand? What if the person who beats their spouse says I only slapped her (I have a little pot) it's not like I broke her nose (had an 8-ball of coke)!!! I wish they could just come up with a simple, reliable test for law enforcement to detect when folks are actually high (not the one that can detect THC from party 6-12 weeks prior). i say this in the same context as sobriety tests for drivers. If the country could do this they should legalize pot, alcohol kills thousands every year, but there is to much mnoney in it now for them to ever make it illegal. As far as hard labor is concerned, geez we can't violate their rights by making them work. Alot of these dirt bags have never done a days work in their life so you are effectively violating their rights by making them work. They are entitled to full law libraries, three square meals a day, cable TV, Telephone service, free laundry service, free rent, etc. etc. Sorry to rant here but make them turn big rocks to little rocks and little rocks to gravel. Alot of the nations highways were built on prison labor, but now they just vist the grey bar hotel. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  17. Well it is obvious that everyones purpose in life is an individual decision. Yes you are a post whore, but I get enjoyment on reading them. Have you ever thought of getting a coach rating and helping others progress in their addiction? Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  18. I fall like a stone (avg fall rate not docked of 126-130 mph) on my belly But in a track I am around 116-118mph and my protrack is in my helmet. Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  19. Well yes and no, yes, you're nuts to go to an area where alot of folks there would like nothing more than to put a bullet in your ass. No, I am proud to have folks like yourself protecting my freedom to write posts such as this. If you go stay safe!! Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  20. Well my journey is finally complete to my "A" license and a new one has begun ("B" license). I finished up my "A" weekend before last, but I have just been to busy to write about it. I was fortunate to do my last 6 jumps over a week period. Most of the jumps were un-eventful. I was fortunate to do several 2-ways with coaches and a 3-way each with several points. I am now standing up the Fusion 9-cell on a consistant basis (this is nice, less time with the brush of quite dignity). My 25th jump was a really cool 12-way tracking jump. I went out next to last with my coach and stayed well above and behind to be safe. I landed uneventfully and got the sign from the ST&A. This journey was incredible and I look forward to future adventures and learning. Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  21. I think Skydann explained it good by saying, "tandem progression allows me to gauge the students reaction to freefall environment, his ability to pull the ripcord, allows me to teach and ensure that the student understands the canopy checks, controls and landing priorities." I'll also add. It gives me an idea of what their body position will be like in freefall, while attached to me, so I can give them corrections during freefall to correct it. Students seem to be more relaxed knowing they have an Instructor that close to them, knowing we are going to correct anything thats wrong, and also be able to speak to them under canopy giving them minor corrections if needed. Please feel free to PM me if you'd like a more indepth detail of my private program.
  22. What? Is it bad that he dl'ed Mozilla Firefox and AdAware and installed them for me? Stops those anoying pop-ups while your on the internet. Won't do shit for me popping in the loft though. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  25. I would really don't want this post to turn into a flame. Whether she was trained well or knew her gear well is irrelivant at this point. The FACT is she (according to my instruction, coaching and mentoring) made several mistakes which had the most sever consequence. All I wanted this post to be was a learning forum and most of the posts have good information and a few are lighting matches. SO here is a little more for all you noobs: Yes I have my A license, But as Ed said I am damn close to still being a student. Due to the fact I am an infant in this sport, Ed is still my instructor (and always will be) Ed is asked many questions on a weekly basis. Ed is not alone in my questioning...I bombard Kieth (DZ ST&A, AFFI and senior rigger), Lisa (friend, mentor and rigger), Jason (coach and the fellar that got me into the sport), Markus (coach, TM, and others I am unaware of), Ryan (coach) , Kimmer (don't know her quals, but one damn fine skydiver) Kim (coach and TM as well as many others) is my point clear here yet? We noobies (I consider under 200 skydives a noob) need to learn and ask questions from the types of folks I have listed above. Will all their answers be the same if you ask two of them the same question? Most likely not, thus all the calls to my instructor. Ed has the final word on questions I have, reason you ask? Hmmmmm he has over 7200 skidives, so many qualifications I can't list them all, watching him at three different DZ's he is respected by the vast majority (hehe can't please everyone) and I SELECTED him to be my instructor. Please use this post in a positive way to share something you have learned from someone else's mistake or something you learned from someone you respect. Please DON"T use it to flame.
