  1. I think the whole reluctance from a consumer's standpoint would go away if you did not purchase the battery in the car. Your purchase price would be for the car. The battery belongs to someone else. You pull into the station, you swap out the battery and pay for the cost of the recharge (for the new battery). Then it really doesn't matter if you swap out a 100% battery for an 85% battery. You didn't own the 100% battery in the first place. Don't like the 85% battery, pull into the station and swap it out again to get your 95% battery.
  2. This problem would go away if we (in the US) were more enlightened like they are in Canada (or at least BC) where they bring a wireless CC machine to your table. You swipe the card and complete the transaction without the wait staff having to do anything.
  3. I think $0.38/hr is more than adequate. Without actually reading the article and only going on what is posted here - mostly because I'm too lazy and frankly don't really care - they are getting paid during their training and learning a new profession. When I was being trained for my profession, I was never paid $0.38/hr. As a matter of fact I had to pay the college I was going to money for them to train me! And I was paying them way more than $0.38/hr to train me. So they are learning a new trade and being paid for it. Win - Win.
  4. This is not a comment about ACH, but about posts like this and news reporting in general. I always find it funny that they all report numbers about how much this or that will cost without giving any reference numbers. Not one mention about what insurance would cost Jessica Sanford in the "private" sector. No mention if she had insurance before signing up on the marketplace. It actually implies that she didn't have insurance because: Why didn't she have insurance before? Could it be that it was also to expensive?
  5. Listen to Ron. He nailed it pretty good - except for the part about Friendlies. They were so bad that they are no longer in business. Replaced by a Sunny's (SP?). If you think you want to hang out at the DZ after the beer light comes on, read this again...
  6. Reminds me of the old "In Living Color" skit where the leader of the KKK (or whatever group) was a blind black man.
  7. Sounds like capitalism at its finest. Trying to get the most money possible for a service, especially from the uninformed and easily scarred.
  8. kallend, You should be honored that regulator thinks of you as one of the "precious few" then...
  9. The trigger needs to be rigged somehow to the Chastity Belt so no user intervention is required.
  10. I don't recall anyone saying that Obama sat down behind a computer and designed (or is hosting) the website. As a matter of fact, I don't recall anyone in government doing anything with the website. Didn't they contract the design out to a company? This appears to be more of a failure of the private sector than government...
  11. You mean like illegal search & seizures say for instance when you only want to get on an airplane?
  12. Probably for the same reason we don't arrest GWB for the mass murder he ordered.
  13. I'm sorry, but I just can't take people two seriously when they complain about the stupidity of others. While at the same time, showing their own intelligence appears too be lacking to. Maybe they just need two have too other people check their statements before posting.
  14. It's also astounding that their are people over they're that don't know how to use there own language properly.
  15. So, how much money did you just make posting to this (almost) six year old thread?
  16. This is too easy: This is false. Men walked on the inside soles of their boots. I don't remember seeing any video of photos of men walking barefoot on the moon. Or for that matter, I don't remember them digging caves in the moon so that they could walk in the moon. He may or may not be. I wasn't there to stick an icepick in his eyes at his funeral. But one thing is for sure, in another 70 years we can say for certain he is dead. I would lay money on that someone in the govt knew something. The problem is that this information never made it to those that could do something about it. All depends on what your definition of a missile is. A plane could be considered a missile if it is used to damage a building for instance. Don't really know enough information to comment. This is absolutely false. OJ was found not guilty in a court of law. Now whether he was innocent or whether he did it or not is another question. I don't think they were idiots. Seems like they had a plan a successfully executed that plan. Nothing in my opinion suggests that they were idiots. Again not enough knowledge to comment.
  17. Or maybe, Count De Monet: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sztf4hcGrB4
  18. Again, I'm thinking you mean the legislative branch but if you include the SCOTUS, the big one I can think of is Roe v Wade. Elected officials - I can't think of a one.
  19. I say good for them (GM). Chevy should get out of the EV market. Stick with what they know - as you put it so well, trucks. Let others like Toyota, Tesla, etc. who actually know how to build an EV vehicle do it. That way if the market decides that EV is the way to go in the future, Chevy will be bankrupt and out of business. Then we can stop all this futile posting about american automobile companies. Let the strong survive and the weak die out. I praise the demise of the Volt. More money for Toyota* by prius buyers like me. * to use in R&D for new and better prius cars.
  20. What you are opposing is a slippery slope. The next person will want to ban such words as "guns", "abortion", "Jews", "Christians", etc. Instead of banning words in a forum, I suggest we ban certain letters. That would make people really have to think if you couldn't use say the letter "g" in your posts. I suggest we create a new forum and ban these letters: " a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z " Smilies will always be welcome...
  21. There is unrest in the forest, There is trouble with the trees, For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas. The trouble with the maples, (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light. But the oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made. And they wonder why the maples Can't be happy in their shade. There is trouble in the forest, And the creatures all have fled, As the maples scream "Oppression!" And the oaks just shake their heads So the maples formed a union And demanded equal rights. "The oaks are just too greedy; We will make them give us light." Now there's no more oak oppression, For they passed a noble law, And the trees are all kept equal By hatchet, axe, and saw. Neil Peart
  22. Absolutely! I hope they go after those right wing fringe groups and wipe them off the face of the, um, tax free status. After that is done, they can then go after the left wing fringe groups and wipe them out too. Then they can to after religious groups, government contractors, charities, and everyone else. Eliminate all tax free status for everybody. Nobody gets a free ride.
  23. Was her punishment technique derived from the three stooges?
  24. And if your wife actually wanted to sell weight belts she would at least mention that she makes them (pictures are good too) . I was told she did but when I looked on the website no mention of a weight belt. So I bought a belt from someone else.
  25. Why would you want to buy an item based solely on a press release and/or pictures? I equate this to wanting to buy a car based on watching a commercial. Or better yet choosing your brand of beer based on the fact that the most interesting man in the world drinks it. This company clearly does not want your business. Or is having other more important issues to deal with. Do you think you are going to get your helmet any quicker if you know the price now vs later? You have emails showing you are willing to buy right now so if this company is of any honor they will honor the discount when it gets released. But then again an honorable company would respond to emails... The way I see it, you (and all of us waiting for said helmet, um I mean piece of gear) have one of two options: 1) Buy different gear. 2) Suck it up and wait for this one to be released. As in wait until you actually see it at your local gear store or it is advertized at Square One, etc.
