  1. One thing I've learned about skydiver friends, some come into your life and some end up leaving, but we always come back together some way some how. A boogie, a planned trip - I've grown to really love your hugs and Im gonna miss you alot. You better keep in touch and keep giving me advice. Have a great trip home and thank you for the memories you've left with me. Paula GO on GO, and Present
  2. the words JC in the Kiss pass thread...mmmm. Wrong JC... GO on GO, and Present
  3. A wise man once said to me, any exit of any kind will work if everyone on the jump does two things..... Everyone will GO on GO and Everyone will Present to the relative wind We launch stairsteps alot, it's a stable exit...allows for you to "box it out" on the hill and USUALLY comes off clean - Unless someone leaves late or doesnt present and folds under Be sure to dirt dive your climb out and exit several times and just go try stuff....funnels can be fun sometimes. 4. Tough question cause even this can vary. Beginners will start out inconsistent even in one day from dive to dive. They may backslide alot on one jump, then stop the backsliding but go low on the next. Most of the time with a jumper under 50 jumps, we should be able to get 4 to 7 points with anyone on a simple skydive-if we don't give them a lot of flying. The more flying required, and the more work the beginner does, then slow is fast and you don't expect to turn as many points ....just make a smooth jump. For 4 way, check the NSL website. It lists all the scores from all the meets in all divisions. GO on GO, and Present
  5. I'd love to hear what you all have to say about your skills by the END of this summer! It's only June! I kinda think of myself at the top of the first level and ready to move on to the next. Tunnel camp and serious skydives and coaches. I'm jumping with a lot of people off student status doing first time 4 ways and SCR's. Im looking at Next Season to "turn it up a notch" and really get serious about my skills. Although Im working on my own skills on every skydive. GO on GO, and Present
  6. Show up girl! You know you can pick up a team. Looks like there is a lot of that going on at the meets. Wish I could join ya. Let us know how you do! GO on GO, and Present

  8. First off, THANK YOU in advance to all the volunteer for the Texas State Record, especially those who will be joining me on Ground Crew. Looking over the volunteer list, more than half are regular DZ.com readers. There will be a in depth meeting with the entire event participants on Thursday evening. Please if at all possible make plans to attend this meeting. You will get a lot of your questions answered and we will meet with the entire event, then as a ground crew team. Please post a confirmation that you can or can not attend the Thursday evening meeting for me. Please also clarify if you are free to volunteer ALL DAY Friday , June 14th. Finally thanks for providing this forum. An effective tool of communication. GO on GO, and Present
  9. Wow Don, What an incredible invitation. You'll never fill that slot, who would want to jump with you guys? Wish oh wish I could, but...ya know - Im not sure if Mikie's ready to jump on his own yet. I'd better watch him!
  10. Most of my DZ went to Eloy, but I had 4 pretty cool skydives on Sunday. I did a 9 way that was a pretty simple dive. Lots of small moves and we got about 10 or 11 points. Then I jump on a load with a new jumper just off student status. She had 22 jumps. We dirt dived and creeped and door jamed and did it all again. She was a great flyer. We got 9 points on a 4 way. Grant it, she didnt have much flying, but she held stable and tracked straight. These jumps are very rewarding for me. I finished the day with two 16 ways. Both of them really rocked. We were doing quad diamonds and and 8 way base with 2 lines of 4 rotating. They were lots of fun. Nice Successful skydives...good exits on both too. I had a nice day....good openings and good landings on the Stilletto. I think her and I are reaching a middle ground-a truce.
  11. Well, don't drink beer is the obvious answer, but we all know in skydiving THATS not gonna happen!! Think of it as a built in Leadbelly! As far as the workout - What muscle groups are sore after a few jumps? GO on GO, and Present

  13. I am , you should be thankful that I have "a whole new respect " for team training NOW and have tips on keeping my energy level up and my mind in "the zone". -And someone broke me in to the PACE before I show up to 16 way practice. GO on GO, and Present
  14. It's the black gear, you needed pink grippers and a purple rig! Although, picturing you in drag put a big smile on my face.
  15. I had over 400 jumps before I would even ENTERTAIN the thought of jumping an ellipical...and Im still waiting for that mistake I *WILL* make and learning on every single jump so I will know enough NOT to hurt myself. GO on GO, and Present

  18. TEXAS WOMAN Three men were traveling and happened to meet at a bar in Ohio. One man was from Minnesota, one from Florida, and one from Texas. They got acquainted and started talking about their problems with their wives. The guy from Minnesota began by saying, "I told my wife in no uncertain terms that from now on she would have to do all of the cooking. I'd give her three days. Well, the first day after I told her, I saw nothing. The second day I saw nothing, but on the third day when I came home from work, the table was set, and a wonderful dinner was prepared with wine and even dessert. Then the man from Florida spoke up: "I sat my wife down and told her that from now on she would have to do all of the grocery shopping and all of the house cleaning. I'd give her three days. The first day I saw nothing. The second day I saw nothing, but on the third day when I came home, the whole house was spotless and in the pantry the shelves were filled with groceries." The fellow from TEXAS was married to an enlightened woman who had grown up in Texas. He sat up straight on the bar stool, pushed out his chest and said: "I gave my wife a stern look and told her that from now on she would have to do the cooking, shopping and housecleaning." I'd give her three days. Well, the first day I saw nothing, the secon day I still saw nothing, but by the third day . . . . I could see a little bit out of my left eye!" Old but classic! 22. I hear that buying beer in Canada isn't like here. Word is it's quite expensive. If this turns into an annual trip, Mikie and I need to visit Canada next summer to see his brother. Not sure what part. Maybe next trip we could join you! Sounds like you guys are gonna have a blast! GO on GO, and Present
  23. So, if you think that just because your new to the sport, that you have to be "really good" to be on a team, think again. I believe these guys. Being on a team GETS you "really good". Some teams at the DZ train every weekend, some once a month....and who says you need an Otter to practice 4 way? And it is amazing how much help the newer teams get from the more skilled teams. It's like a world they share...even has it's own language
  24. Maybe you should change your screenname to AADAndrew or Cypress McDoofus Do you need us to take up a collection to get you an Dytter? Seriously, glad your OK. Give new meaning to that well know phrase "there I was, I thought I was going to die"... GO on GO, and Present
  25. It's also the reason that birds sing. They don't have to pack. Congrats on the A , keep practicing
