Riggers are such a special breed. Thanks for the wisdom and stories. Going back to the loft was a hurdle for me and what I learned is ... Don't kid myself - My own save? He packed it with me in tandem. Have me do a step - fix it Hand Tools "now put this here".. Got in the way of my own reserve repack is more accurate! Same way we did it this time. The first save will be someone else way down the line. After going back, Im still interested, still intreged and still enjoy the time Im spending in a loft and learning about gear. Absolutely this incident should increase my focus, attention to detail and commitment to perfection. All strengths in rigging. I also got honest feedback on my strengths and areas to work on. I did buy him a bottle, but I drank it. I do plan on paying up! Thanks again guys! Fly your slot!

I doubt very seriously that CASA will be grounded a weekend in June. Could be anywhere.... I've only been apprenticing in the loft for a short time now, and recently had my first "save". It was me. I packed my main into a container lock. Ive discussed this with some of you on pm, but Im curious. How many riggers had their first save on their own rig? I much more anxious about repacking my reserve than I am about jumping again. Anxious is a kind and gentle word, lets try petrified. You would think that a case like this would give you CONFIDENCE in rigging, yet it has seemed to concern me more than comfort me. Stranger, hangin out at the DZ, doing freefly solos , ask him to jump...., 'I don't belly fly, but thank you so much for askin" Now he never said he couldn't , just that he didn't. Then...once you get to know him, the truth unfolds...He IS one of us. He can crank at RW... We WILL jump together, it's just gonna be a mexican standoff to determine if its my way or your way. Try a few helmets on at the local DZ and see what fits with your glasses under them. I wear sunglasses often under my Z1 with no problem as long as the sunglasses are low profile. Mikie wears his glasses under his A3 with no problem either. Isn't there a gear review area here? Check from the home page. Funny, Me talking about helmets...the irony Fly your slot!

boy, I was drunk. Don't even remember posting that. It was my first jump at a new DZ (Skydive Houston) , that's why I was disoriented. But I was quit proud of my high speed crosswind landing I managed. More Stilletto chat please....it's really helping! Fly your slot!

My Stilletto landings are actually getting better. I've been getting tips and reading threads, and it's helped alot. We had some long spots and did I appreciate the glide. Now, If I could just learn how to NOT PACK A BAGLOCK (like I did this weekend ) :( Im gonna conquer this canopy....Im on a mission now! Fly your slot!
