hey, I did not do too bad, but I am still glad I am not he bag checker. I still missed some dangerous stuff.

Go jump, 40's is warm. It will be above 0 at altitude. Just wear gloves and a turtleneck under your jumpsuit and sweater.
-
well not only a DZ policy. No one under the age of 18 can jump a Vector tandem. We are supposed to agree not to take any underage people on tandems when we get out TM I license from the relative workshop. Alex

That is very sad. I cannot believe they would not even give out the person's name.

It is all a liability issue. It does not matter how many people sign for an underage person, in a court of law all that documentation is useless. Basically if you sign such a waver for your son and decide to sue after that you will win. That is not a risk most DZ are willing to take, hence the age limit of 18. There are some who will do it at 16 and if you look around you will find them. Alex

a kiss pass is RW. it involves really good steady flying skills (if you want to do it without taking grips) and is not cheating. I agree with whoever sad that nothing at the DZ is cheating.

I don't know which one is the best, but it must be European.

I don't like shots, I prefer to have my drink in a bigger glass and sip it slowly. One gets to enjoy the taste more that way.

Hey Viking, I just want to say good luck and that I am really jealous. I wish I was getting out of here to somewhere warmer. Alex

Jumping out of planes! I would rather do that than anything else in the world. Alex

If I were you, I would get a suit for after student status. While you are going through AFF your JMs will decide what suit you will wear. So do not waste your effort on thinking off AFF suits. The DZ has enough of them for you to use. Concentrate on what you want for after that. Just my 0.02 Alex

Guys, at least you are not looking at snow flakes outside your windows. I really hope it gets better by Saturday. Alex

I like strong Turkish coffee. I hate brown water. And Starbucks burns their coffee beans so they taste more bitter and smell stronger - I don't like that! It makes the coffee taste burnt. Alex

None yet, but hope to be the proud owner of a couple of dz rats / personal packers some day. Alex

The set up for down wind landings
axe96bam replied to airdrew20012001's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
When I started experimenting with downwinders I started with simple 90 and was setting up way out so I don't just swoop right through and out of the landing area. Just remember to be very careful, take it slow and do not quit flying the canopy until you have stopped. Alex -
Congrats on your BEER rig, I hope you enjoy it for a long time. Happy hour is tomorrow, so you can buy everyone there a beer. Alex

I say just walk in the plane with your jumpsuit on, rig on, helmet, alti, goggles and tell them you are scared to fly and want a partial refund because you want to land yourself. (he-he) Alex

Dave, I have a digitude and to tell you the truth it is not a s high maintenance. the battery is good for a very long time, especially if you turn it off after every jump. Keep the night light on only during night jumps and you will not have to change the battery more than once a year if that! And it is not a breakable as some people make it sound, but it is plastic so take care of it. I would not advise dropping any altimeter. Plus I have found it more accurate than analog up high. I think that the accuracy is pretty similar at break-off and lower. Jump one to see if you like it. And you can get a decent deal on them to where they will come out to about $150-$160. Alex

I say make it in Australia. It is summer there when it is winter here and no one will be upset because we did not choose their state. :-) Alex

I have a mindwarp and love it. It is very comfortable and is fitted to your face. Alex

"She is correct. For those of you who jump to conclusions, take a look at what $400 is getting you versus $35. We are talking SDU and it WORKS" Well, I strongly disagree that money is a factor here - I think it really depends on the CC Director. And I guess to each their own. If someone can justify spending $400 on a coaches course than by all means that is their business. Alex

You are right about that - there are a few open container photos. USPA has taken a lot of heat over the last couple of years about the calendars so I though they would screen the pictures more. Alex
