  1. I agree with Tom - get radio. Since you are still on student status, you should be wearing one anyhow no matter if it is needed or not. But if you have an instructor call out the flare for a couple of jumps, you should get used to judging it yourself. You will do fine, just ask for help at the DZ too, not only here. Alex
  2. I have had my z-1 for 3 years and never had a problem with it. I love but to each their own. Try a different full face, see what you like. Alex

    Dream Flight

It was "Beer pressure", but I am sooooo glad I did it. I fell in love with it from the first jump.
  4. I am 32.4% pure. I don't know if this good or bad.
  5. Night jumps are way fun. I have done about a dozen of them. We do them anytime we decide we want to and the pilot is willing to stick around and fly us. Alex
  6. you can update your profile from the dz.com home page.
  7. I think we do need to get him a girl. If you start the "save Seb" fund let me know, I will pitch in. Alex
  8. Hey Seb, don't scare the guy away now! (ha-ha-ha) Alex
  9. Actually come to think of it we have had some positive press. We had a paraplegic and a quadriplegic make a tandem at our DZ last summer. The piece hit the TV evening news in most of Wisconsin on one of the major TV stations. Alex
  10. We have had some very local good publicity in the local news papers. I know it is not much, but it is a start. If many DZ can get their little local newspapers involved, bigger papers might get interested also. Just my 0.02 Alex
  11. Hey, I would not complain about getting a pictorial of dz.com women here.
  12. Well, I know for sure of two - myself and Seb. (he-he-he)
  13. Maybe they should send a copy of the pics to us here as well. I don't think any of us will mind seeing some more boobies.
  14. I think we might all owe beer now. How many of here have been called "role models" before? he-he-he Alex

    Magazines!

I get Parachutist Skydiving Car&Driver I think that is it. I rarely read more a few articles out of Car&Driver, I am like a kid - just look at the pictures :-) Alex
  16. Bill, I was referring to the P/C itself not to the systems. I know the difference in the systems. I jump a pull out and I used to have a BOC before so I am very familiar with the way they work, pack, and look. It was more in the sense that you can take a pull out P/C, saw a handle on in in the right place, put a pin on the bridle and it becomes BOC ready. Or is that not the case? Alex
  17. Welcome aboard and yeah, you do owe beer for your first post! I guess you can buy it during Happy Hour on Wednesday.
  18. I think people like Bill Booth should have a "manufacturer" title on DZ.com. Alex
  19. A lot of folks up north jump year round too, but it is cold and we bitch about it all the time. I jump in the cold, but i would much rather prefer to jump where you jump in 80 degrees weather. Alex
  20. Hey Tom, I don't really think that there is a difference between a BOC and a Pull-out P/C other than the handle. I might be wrong, but I have not seen any differences. Alex
  21. Spring in the midwest sucks too. I watched it snow most of the morning. Hope it gets way better by the weekend.
  22. I did mine on the web. I used the Turbo Tax software and paid $15 to have my refund put straight into my account. It only took them 10 day to send me my money. Alex
  23. I like the pull-out because I know that I am opening my container, plus it is harder to get a premature deployment. (at least this is my opinion) Alex
  24. 0:3:0 I only had Saturday to jump and it was windy in the morning. And since it is still cold, we were only jumping the C-182. Now it is snowing outside. Alex
