(Doesn't always work, but generally it does) Drop a bit of weight, slows your decent. LOOK and spend more time at the DZ, you will find some tips. Get battons or a radio if you are really uncertain, just to get you over that first jump, and get your judgement aligned. Some places have crappy or different canopies for students. It might be you jumped one that could barely flare, and then one that flared great. Check what you are jumping. Weather. Just to calm the nerves, select a day where the wind is perfect and constant to get back. Should make life a bit easier (nerves). BTW. I am currently booked off for 3 months, but I will wait with this one for 6, just so that I can heal properly. Remember, if you are a smoker, it takes much longer for bones to heal, as in my case. I've taken a few rides......after out landings. Heck, I even got the one guy to do his FJ course. When I am alone or with another male friend in the car, I would consider purely on the looks of the hiker. With SO and/or my boy, sorry dude, it's walking time for you. Did a couple of jumps from it. Climbed rather good, no issues on exit, at least for those few jumps. Got canned after some red tape from authorities... Jump #2, I weighed about 45kg, age 16. Canopy was connected incorrectly, flying backwards. I figured it was OK, it was flying, I had control, I could flare and turn. Not so easy looking behind you, and landed in a cemetary across the road without incident, standup. Should have just chopped it. Connectivity between both toggles Connectivity of toggles on reserve ride Strong arm strength Lots more leg input (Saves arm strength for final flare) I have tried a single arm on my main(Considered dislocated shoulder scenario). Did not work so well. Risers are a bit long for one arm to reach both sides. Went into a spin after undoing one side. And power in the arm... Nope, I disagree, and ask any pilot when back at the DZ. When you are flying, your prop turns a certain speed, hence you are moving through a mass of air at that speed, minus drag offcourse. Now, when you flying with wind, you are travelling the EXACT same speed through the mass of air. Relativity.....my key word. So, you land into wind and take off into wind, purely cause you have ground that is not part of the relativity. You will NOT climb faster into wind than in a downwind. The only way you can climb faster, is if you have updrafts, cause then it will change your angle of attack as you go through it. Again, relativity.
