  2. jump 70ish. 2 way with jumpmaster for fun. too many students, so he jumps two rigs, just flops on the next after landing. Popping out the students, at 8k I get out onto the wheel (c182 or some c ), look back, and jumpmaster has not fastened his legstraps, nor is his cheststrap routed. I immed aborted and pushed back into the plane. He bought me some beers You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 3. Also had this a few times. Suppose the easiest way to avoid this problem is not to backslide. However, say you have a little track movement, and you open 180deg, then the canopy will move backwords. This could also make this happen. so much for not backsliding..hehe. Many times I found the pc on top, near the nose, but not yet over. I find turning with toggles to either side will make it float back off. As for when it is in front of the nose, through your lines, no radical turns. I had a high opening once, and started to spiral down, the drag from the pc was so great, that it actually started to take my a-lines close to c-lines. That is a major indent in the nose, and flight char. is up to crap. leveled out, and genlte flying did the trick. 4. I am out of skydiving for a while now, but this came as a shocker. You never had to wonder who landed when you heard, HEATWAVE!!! The man who taught me quite a bit about skydiving. His heart was good, and he lived for the skies. Me and the wife decided to each do a tandem jump, just for old time sake in memory of a good friend. You will be remembered.... 5. Just something I stumbled upon, but pretty good article for 1935. http://blog.modernmechanix.com/2006/04/24/daring-bird-man-soars-at-10000-ft-on-homemade-wings/ You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 6. Seen footage of a AFF jump in haestones. Both instructors got right on the back of the student till clear of the haelstones. Sorry for the poor student. BAD rash like knobs on the neck and face. 7. rigid? The only part where it would be rigid is the exit, but should not be significantly worse than normal exit, more transition from forward to downward, and in this case forward to sideways, or the way the stream is pushing. 8. I am busy building a hot air balloon, and came across a website talking about Jet Streams(winds) between 6 and 9 miles AGL. Wondering if anybody has done a HaLo jump through heavy jet stream, and what was the effect? To me, terminal is not even close to 300mph, so would you be freefalling at say a 45degree angle? http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/balloon/science/jetstream.html You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 9. Started jumping there start this year, and received a wonderfull welcome feeling from the rest of the members. Training is always fun, and with so many camaras available, it just adds to the learning curve. Safety comes first, making this club very popular for me. Weather seems to be consistent, always a light breeze for those soft landings. Overall a great club with a good vibe and great parties. I love it and will remain for a long time.
  10. If the bridal was a bit loose, depending on the way you pack/insert PC, the bridal could have grabbed enough air and get pulledout. Thus resulting in the handle moving in, and the bridal out(not likely, but possibility when packed incorectly). Backloop, frontloop and track, are all fast and putting air onto a loose bridal from all sides. You felt some material of the PC on the second touch. This might have been the point where the bridal has been pulled out so far that the PC was also coming out. Thus grabbing anough air from the material to deploy. I have heard of people dumping a non-cocked PC, and then the canopy did deploy due to dragforce being enough. Remember that in this instance that I know of, it was also on the time the jumper reached for silver, giving you a different fall rate, and profile in the wind, affecting the dragforce some more. 11. I recently got myself one of the first Blade Runners ever made. Though the canopy is in very good nick, I find that it still has the 5 line brake configuration. Which of the lines should go and which should stay? I spoke to my rigger, and he has never done this from before(on a blade), and is not willing to make changes that he is not sure of. Can anyone help. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 12. The slider sorts out most of my problems. Big and right up in front of the nose. Let it start working from the word go. Works for me.
