  1. Rule 1, talk to YOUR instructor. This is what I do. 3, 6, 9000ft, I go through my jump in the plane. After 9, I focus on relaxing. I breathe slow constant breaths, and count with it, doing my final gear check while doing my breathing. As I exit, I always always always think -- Smile. This makes you breathe, it relaxes you, but yet you can focus better. It also breakes tension in someone else when they see you smile. They always smile back. Simple things that could make your jump better....but thats just an opinion, and you need to find your own way of doing. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. Davelepka - "This isn't an x-box, or a Chevy truck forum" Whatever you do, don't listen to ChrisD.
  2. Dear LBurna, You are boasting of something illegal, like sneaking onto a C130(not even civillian aircraft), on a public forum..... That shows your IQ, similar to your jump number. Go search for Billy Vance on this website, post a picture of yourself in that thread. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 4. Thanx, it makes sense. Suppose those used for turning is on the outer cells. But, back to the topic, anyone? 5. Can you see it? http://www.paratec.de/en/tandem/65-2/ Sorry, no clicky You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. Davelepka - "This isn't an x-box, or a Chevy truck forum" Whatever you do, don't listen to ChrisD.
  6. As the subject says. Have you done this, how was this accomplished, in a relatively safe manner? You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. Davelepka - "This isn't an x-box, or a Chevy truck forum" Whatever you do, don't listen to ChrisD.
  7. That poses the next question then. Why would you want to have a dual toggle system? I have seen them, was red for the "main" toggle, and yellow for the smaller toggle. Also an extra loop to "lock" the toggle in place when stowing... Still don't know why the extra loop. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 8. I am not a TI, nor want to be one, but I like to know stuff. What are the pros and cons about jumping the 340, 370 and 402 ish size canopies, and what is the more preferred in the industry? 9. Good point. I reckon fairly large open areas, with more designated landing areas. Also lower the wingloading, for those downwind and crosswind landings. One idea though, is to have people land in the same direction they were tracking in. Tunnel time not to count towards experience. I have seen those flat fly like mofos and then cannot standup a 230. I don't have such bigway experience, so just thoughts. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 10. Don't even try predict. Go to the DZ, you will learn a lot while on the ground waiting for some blue skies. 11. The only time it would have noticable effect, is if you have a change in horizontal air speed, as you deploy through it. Lets say 10kts with bag extraction, but 35kts(noticable) with cells inflating. Yet, I cannot see that you will have "twists" of any nature, more an effect of wing trying to fly into wind, or away, depending on the angle of wind to the canopy, and in which stage of deployment you move from 10 to 35. 12. Long night....noob prompts me the next morning he wants his opening filmed. So, we plan 2way flat, and at 5500, I will just go underneath him, and he can deploy at 5k. battled to get to him after a long seperated exit. Showed him going underneath now, just below 5k. Then, as I go down below, he smiles at me, taking in the nice cam guy underneath him, which he has never seen. SO, I sit there waiting to film the opening, later pointing at him. alas he opens, with a serious line twist. Me, I keep on filming a bit more, then turnaround to find myself at 2.4G. Snivel, and open at 1.5. Outlanding. Problems here. Late night, audible was in full face helmet, never bothered to move to cam helmet, dumb student not doing his thing on time, me not making the call to just deploy and screw the footage. STUPID. 13. If proven guilty, they loose their lic here by us. That is if I don't get to him first. I only use 1 rigger, I trust him, I can ask him anything, and he always pulls out my reserve in front of me, so we can check the deployment sequence together (and other things...) Heck, I always find a new closure loop fitted, with a spare on the main. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 14. Stick your head out the car, or try the bike. Go for the cheap stuff when you are a student. Those old school boogie goggles works, period. Remember the type of helmet you will be using. I jump sunglasses with my fullface, and then the tropos with cam. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 17. Whoever taught you to touch your pc while doing a front loop...... Glad you are ok. I would suggest you talk and look at some of the freeflyer rigs, and how they close them etc. You will learn a lot. 18. I started at that age. Nothing wrong with it. Pitty I could not keep up with jumping on a student salary. 20. I don't, but then again, I am a funjumper, and can do everything I want to with the minimum. If I want to become a coach/instructor or so then I suppose it is needed. I also don't do exhibit jumps, purely cause of the danger side of it. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 21. Seems slider stowing does not make such a difference in sequence then, as long as it is done above hard deck, and you are able to fly/avoid traffic. Toggles, yes, I have had my share, and have a rule, 1500ft, toggles stay put. Faster canopy for normal jumps though, so more response is needed quicker. Thanx for the input. 22. It was a fairly safe prank. I would go and put the old newspaper bits into your next pack job. See how you like that, and then get me a beer or 5. And hey, at least he has got a story to tell..... OH, and all the negative remarks, you guys are all freakin noobs. Talk to the older boys, and you will find out what pranks really are. Like dropping a whole load 20miles out, or or or... You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. 23. Hello Birds, I am reading up on doing wingsuiting, and from the guides, I need to react in the following sequence after opening: free arms completely fly on rears for clear air space, keep toggles stowed. collapse slider free legs completely Now take full flight. Why is the slider collapse in this order? I would think that would just fall in place after legs are freed, and then take toggles and go..... Thanx in advance. 25. What he said. Also my no noticable turn -> could have been a slight turn, but in the moment in time, I was not really paying attention to a bit more on the one side than the other, but more of get this thing landed safely. lol. I can admit though, I did a couple of test rear flares before ground, and the stall point was reached very soon, and not with a lot of input into the rears. But also, think this was due to lack of practice, and the norm is to pull down on toggles, and not rears that are much shorter.
