  2. I looked in the dictionary for the definition and to my surprise, the noun “skydive” isn’t listed! The Cambridge, MacMillan, Meriam-Webster, and Oxford dictionaries list it as a derivative of the word “skydiving”. Dictionary.com has it listed as a verb. 3. How many bazillions of them are sitting in closets because their owners stopped jumping for whatever reason? They don't sell the rig because they're going to get back into the sport someday. And of course someday never comes. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  4. See you this summer! What helicopter are you flying? Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  5. Way cool! I jumped an S2C at Quincy. Is that considered a different model airplane? Or is more like the difference between a C182D and a C182E? Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  6. That is my spiel, almost exactly. I highly advocate carrying a phone on every jump. My rig has an ROL pocket for the express purpose of carrying my phone when I'm not wearing any other pockets. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  7. How did Daley get away with it in Chicago? Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  8. The local public school system recreation department has "adult enrichment" courses. I took one called Sew Easy and relearned the basics of sewing and the machine. From there I took the next logical step, using my wife's Kenmore, I rebuilt a canopy to jump. I didn't have the faith to actually land the canopy but a post-jump inspection showed that the canopy was totally landable. 9. Dropzone locater for the state of New Mexico. There is a listing for Skydive Hobbs. If I click on the link listed, www.skydiveh0bbs.com (with an oh instead of the zero), I get redirected to a link that causes the browser to lock up. It happened with Chrome and Safari. (Yeah, I know. Don't click on that link any more.
  10. Skydive Long Island - Closed permanently http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4760755#4760755 Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  11. I am looking to identify dropzones listed in the USPA database the are NOT active dropzones. For whatever reason, the dropzone location listed does not fly jumpers on a regular basis. For instance, Napoleon Skydiving Center has been closed for a decade or more but the dropzone is still listed. (Skydive Tecumseh is currently jumping at that location.) I have no nefarious motives. I'm just updating my personal database of dropzones in the US. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  12. They still do, to include fractional sizes. I own an Icarus Omni 183.5 and an Icarus Omni 178.5. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  13. How many different dropzones have you jumped? If commenting, I'd like to know how many dropzones in how many years. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  14. My experience was about the same. Except FedEx mistakingly billed it to my work account (County Government) because I had the canopy shipped to me there. I called up and complained, they credited it right away. I then asked, "OK, now how do I go about paying the fee?". FedEx told me that they would pay it as a one time courtesy because of the inconvenience. Score!
  15. I believe Para-Gear sells gripper fluid by the quart.
