  1. I'll see you on Saturday & Sunday! What could possibly go wrong?
  2. Check http://www.performancedesigns.com/store.asp They can get you an L-143, and they can even make it to your specifications! All kidding aside, I sometimes wonder why we CRWDawgs can't seem to buy new Lightnings - we just pass around the old ones. I worry that maybe if we don't buy some NEW Lightnings from time to time, that P.D. might stop offering them! What could possibly go wrong?
  3. I think my most memorable jump was the 6-way jungle speed sequential insanity jump with YOU last Sunday! What could possibly go wrong?
  4. I prefer larger rings so that I can use larger risers. That way It's more for me to grab when front-risering. Of course vet wrap helps a lot as well, but a larger starting point gives you more to work with. What could possibly go wrong?
  5. What a great weekend at Lake Wales! Lots of fun jumps, and a sunset double-diamond on Saturday. I can't wait for the video. Short of the one wrap and the accompanyng double cut-away, a perfect weekend. Thanks to all involved. Do not meddle in the affairs of sysadmins, they are quick to anger and have no need for subtlety.
  6. Yeah, but dude, it's fucking Idaho!!! What could possibly go wrong?
  7. If you care about the community health of your DZ, you will most circumspect in starting realationships there. If you don't care ... What could possibly go wrong?
  8. God bless all the Dizzys! What could possibly go wrong?
  9. fairness? Ask the Jewish what it would take for them to forgive the NSP. I believe slavery is wrong and cruel, I would not wish it upon anybody, but mathematically slavery must again be annunciated to acheive this "fairness".. As for a prediction to the appropriate time to decomission Affirmitive Action... I don't know, when people start using the word nigger in its intended form. EDITED: Not to cop out on the question... but I would hope to see things change within my lifetime... but ballpark figure, Im going to go ahead and say 80-120 years ----------------- Over a century of favored employment status?!?!?! I've been all for AA in the past, but you ask too much. You expect eight generations of whites to keep paying for injustices committed two centuries in the past???? My great-great-great-great-great-great grand children should continue to pay a price for what my great grandfathers may have done??? You actually believe that to be fair??? What could possibly go wrong?

All the above. What could possibly go wrong?
  11. My cat thinks you've been smoking his cat nip. But he always gets a bit paranoid when he's high. Won't even go near the rocking chair. What could possibly go wrong?
  12. Im going to go out on a limb here and say it will be enough when black and white people get together and make lots of babies. But from the discrimination I witness from both sides, I don't see a solution forming anytime soon. I suspect you're right. You know, we came so far. As a society we reexamined our values and made good strides. Then we kinda stalled ...maybe even backslid a bit. Affirative Action came about with the unlikely alliance of tree huggers and fearful, monied whites on the right. The former cause ...well, it's what they do. The latter, cause they saw economic disaster. The latter saw AA as appeasement cause they feared (not unrealistically) racial uprising. AA (which had been around in bits and pieces since Brown v Board of Education) was born in the 60's. Lynden Johnson was the first to use the term 'Affirmative Action' and it was a major component of his 'Great society" (interestingly, the other piece was his 'War on Crime' for a kind of 'pay em to chill, shoot em if they don't sort of approach to race relations). AA programs were probably the single most effective tool for addressing the greatest oppressor - economics (and the less tangible hopes and dreams). So good things were done, but the question is, how much longer to you expect society to bite this bullet? Remember, we're talking 40 years of favored employment status for an ever expanding list of 'minorities' (everybody wanted on that bandwagon). What we have now is white males, two generations removed from the societal and individual injustices of their grandparents (great-grandparents if they live in the south :). Serioursly, how many more generations do you expect to keep paying this price. Whatever our criteria for fairness, I think you have to admit it must end at some point (with lots of babies, perhaps). So give me your best guess in number of years. How much longer? What could possibly go wrong?
  13. True indeed, however... the keyword there is qualified, and why not justify it if the exact opposite is going on, "the qualified applicant being employed over a qualified minority because of (x) measures" (short play on words, but still the same). It's an attempt to balance. A good attempt if you ask me. If you take away AA I for damn sure want my reparations. And you've had them. Next year will be the 40th anniversary for Affirmative Action. No problem, historically speaking, with Affirmative Action, but when is enough, enough? What could possibly go wrong?
  14. Used to. Now I take my OCD medication every day and enjoy life a lot more. What could possibly go wrong?
  15. You're to hell and gone better off than people who are in relationships and not having sex. You can be alone and lonely. You can be with someone and lonely. The latter is far worse. What could possibly go wrong?
  16. Perhaps. I think the US is viewed as beating up on a little kid that nobody liked cause it's citizens were fearful and outraged. It provided (for a while, at least) increased feelings of unity for our citizens, a more lasting false sense of security, vastly increased a political power base and pretty much ensured some very scary ultra-conservatives would tighten their grip on American politics. All in all, a pretty slick move by those who would destroy our country from within. OBL wanted to destroy the freedoms and liberties that made our coutry great ...he is succeeding. What could possibly go wrong?
  17. I suspect Bush admitted he was "wrong" because his handlers convinced him it would be advantageous to his image and allow him to more effectively pursue his goals. It's quite a common ploy, actually. What could possibly go wrong?
  18. I wouldn't advocate terminating smokers - they are the victims. Many millions of them need society to give them a helping hand to quit. I was only able to once all my smoking friends had quit or gone someplace else. It is much easier to quit if there is no temptation. Are you a smoker? If so, maybe you could answer this: If you weren't a smoker, knowing everything you know right now, would you start smoking? I don't smoke and will not start smoking. I also will not go on a witch hunt against those who do because society says it's an OK thing to do at present. I'm glad you quit, but DAMN you are such a typical ex-smoker. This discussion was about an employer mandating it's employees not smoke off the job. Way over the top and society's acceptance of such actions is pretty much a modern adaptation of an age old theme. What could possibly go wrong?
  19. If they choose to peddle highly addictive cancer causing filth, then yes I guess burning them is probably even better than shooting them
  20. It is if: * Smokers spend less hours immersed in their work because they are haffing ciggy breaks. * Smokers smoke is breathed by other company employees. * Smokers stink of smoke around the office. * Smokers have more days off sick each year. * Smokers hang around outside the company offices smoking like a bunch of kids. Lets be honest about this: smoking is a disgusting dangerous habit. Smokers smell really bad. In fact that is an understatement: they stink. Most smokers only do it because they are addicted and simply do not possess the willpower to quit. We do not want our kids smoking. I know this because I finally managed to quit after being addicted for 20 years. The tobacco companies are run and staffed by evil cynical bastards who should all be rounded up in a field and shot. They are no different from heroin pushers and suppliers. BURN THE WITCHES, BLASPHEMERS AND COMMUNISTS!!!! BURN THEM AT THE STAKE AND DAMN THEIR MORTAL ANTISOCIAL SOULS!!!! What could possibly go wrong?
  21. Seems to me, ahegeman has a valid objection, Bill. What could possibly go wrong?
  22. It is indeed. Women use over 70% of health care dollars. In addition, -Increased their Medicaid enrollment from 1987 to 1996. -Represented a higher proportion covered by Medicaid both in 1987 and 1996 compared to men. -Used more health services than men in 1996. -Had more functional limitations than men in 1996. One way of looking at it is to charge women more for insurance, another would be to accept that all of us are equa and split the costs 50/50. I prefer the latter. What could possibly go wrong?
  23. Welcome to the new America. What could possibly go wrong?
  24. 3) Clear sighted enough to see that a power mad moron is sitting in a good place to turn a fearful nation to facism. What could possibly go wrong?
